PRODUCT RESEARCH
- Every year, billions of tulips are cultivated. The majority are both grown and exported from Holland. - More than 60 percent of the total surface of the country is used for agriculture and horticulture, and a significant portion of that is for the bulb growing industry, especially to those nurseries that are focused on tulips. - 2 million tons of tulips are exported in the Netherlands in a year! - Reuse: When the tulips are done blooming, you shouls try to keep the leaves green as long as possible. After the leaves die, you can either choose to fig the bulbs up and divide them or keep them in the ground during the summer.

MATERIAL STUDIES
TULIPS
DRIED TULIPS
The Netherlands has the biggest concentration of Tulips in the world. Tulips come in a variety of color, ranging from about 300 species.
We decided to let the petals dry out so that we can ground them into miniscule pieces. With these tiny fragments, we were able to mix it with resin to create various designs depending on the amount of dried material mixed into the resin.
Inspiration: From tulip fields
Inspired Shapes: Rectangles and squares

TILE PROCESS
DRIED TULIPS WITH RESIN Embedded with resin
We decided to use the dried petals, grounded into tiny fragments to mix it with resin. We then experimented with different amount of the dried petals to observe the various densities of the product.
RESIN TILES The resin tiles are then applied to the feature wall as well to the exterior of the Agri- Pod staircase
