“Protect What You’ve Earned” is a CMC-directed, overarching initiative that covers all aspects of a Marine or Sailor’s personal decisions and conduct. You’ve worked hard to earn the uniform and all it represents. You’ve learned your skills, attained your rank, paid for your car, established family and social relationships, and kept yourself fit. Part of earning these things is maintaining them. Staying within a budget and paying your bills on time protects your good credit record and your financial stability. Responsible drinking, arranging for rides and putting the phone away when you’re driving protects your rank, your reputation, your friends and family, and your property – not to mention your own life. As service members, we have a reputation of making good, responsible decisions in our lives. Exercise that judgement, seek help when you need it, and keep pressing in the right direction to protect our reputation. Let’s show the nation that we’ve earned it, and we otos and ph deserve it. s io b he Semper Fidelis. view t
