WePhoto - 2016 - B&W - Vol 3

WePhoto “The Series” B&W Vol. 3 Dear all, I am very proud to introduce the new collection “The Series”. It was not so long ago since we have launched the first eBook, including the photographic work of the 10 administrators, who at that time were cooperating in the “WePhoto” group. Since then, we have published 21 eBooks and the Special edition “Calendar 2015” and now two Calendars 2016. This new collection – The Series - is made of different eBooks, each one (or more than one if required) related to a specific photographic theme, including the artworks of several authors from Italy and abroad. This is the third eBook of the fourth line of this new collection and has been dedicated to Black and White.

We are all so excited and happy to be able to collect such beautiful images and, most of all to be able to share them with a wide audience. Spread, share, recommend everyone to download eBooks from our webpages and links below. Also make sure to leave your feedback on the eStores – 5 stars comments would be great. RATE IT! You can really help us growing and sharing our beloved passion for photography! In this eBook you can also find the links to our Facebook Group. Black And White L’inizio.

Black And White The beginning. The first photographic images were black and white. Before there were "personal" cameras, the photographers were almost HEROES. Bringing around their equipment now unthinkable, they have unveiled a world unreachable to all, with their heavy cameras, bulky, with glass plates on which was to be laid by hand a gelatin silver bromide, to be developed immediately after the shooting. Now, with our Reflex we go around and we take beautiful color pictures. Yet, even today, many photographers eliminate color information to give back, with Black and White, the wonderful atmosphere of unreality to their images. A charm that time will never change.

Color is the reality. We perceive colors and photos set a moment of the real world. The Black & White is not real, is a dimension outside of our experience, and perhaps because of it fascinates us in such a mysterious. I always loved this dimension, since I developed and I was looking through chemical development and printing, to explore that world, enhancing contrast, acutance, light and shadow. Today, helped by new digital media, I try again to deepen the research, trying to go "beyond" the image taken, trying to give new depth, contrast, almost to alter the fabric of reality of the moment. With my Canon EOS 550D. But if it is out of reach and "I see an Image", I do not hesitate to use Smarphone or Ipad. 9

Anna Maria Noto Erice (TP) Italy 17 January 1971 I started taking pictures as a teenager, with a ZENIT11 SLR, taking a course in photography, capable of transforming the initial interest in true love for the world of image. Not at all crowded out by digital I started a real photographic research ranging from portrait to landscape with my Nikon D700. I love taking pictures in solitude, inner peace and the landscape in front of me seem to become one, I like to compose the photograph by focusing on a few visual elements, so that those who look at my photos be taken to a mental journey that plays my same experience. Today I continue my irresistible urge to take the places of my land, explore the soul of landscapes Trapani so finding my own style. 21

My name is Marianna, I was born in Vicenza in 1980. I have recently discovered the passion for photography, especially for the black & white style, that perfectly suits shooting cats, my favourite subjects. I love the atmosphere that these contrasting colours can create, giving different interpretations to a shot. A play of light and shadow, brightness and darkness, white and black more or less saturated can change the perception of the same picture

Through the photos in my current project I try to capture the relationship between cats and the people they live with when they are sharing moments of pleasure, engaged in a particular art or pastime they like best. When I start to shot, I find some kind of peace that takes me away from daily worries; it is a moment only for me with myself. For this reason I would like to pursue this project at the top of my possibilities. I hope you will enjoy it! 33

MARIO PALOMBO Bergamo, Italy

I discovered photography when I was 30 years old. I like photos “conceived at home, and then realized in a noiseless setting, where the human element is absent, but you can still feel its passage. I love photos taken in the street, among the people, when in a moment you have to decide for everything. 45

HO QUASI 55 ANNI E DA OLTRE 40 FOTOGRAFO. HO INIZIATO CON UNA PICCOLA ANALOGICA 24X36, LA COSINA, POI SON PASSATO ALLA PENTAX ME SUPER PER POI ENTRARE NEL MONDO NIKON CON LA F1. SUCCESSIVAMENTE HO ACQUISTATO UNA ZENZA BRONICA 6X6 INNAMORANDOMI DEL FORMATO QUADRATO. SONO CRESCIUTO RESPIRANDO ARGENTINICO E TUTTI I PROFUMI DEI REAGENTI DELLA CAMERA OSCURA SINO AD ARRIVARE ALL’ANALOGICO CON NIKON. MI REPUTO UN FOTOAMATORE CHE AMA PARTICOLARMENTE LA STREET... SONO INFATTI TUTTE STREET LE MIE FOTO ANCHE SE IL SOGGETTO PRINCIPALE APPARE ESSERE IL MIO MARE.

NESSUNA DELLE MIE IMMAGINI E’ INFATTI COSTRUITA E TUTTI I SOGGETTI RITRATTI SONO ATTORI OCCASIONALI ED INCONSAPEVOLI. AMO MOLTO FOTOGRAFARE SCENE D’OGNI TIPO MA NON SCATTO MAI IN ASSENZA DI NUVOLE CHE USO PER DRAMMATIZZARE LE MIE SCENE CHE RISULTANO “BAGNATE” DI NERI PROFONDI E TONI SPESSO MOLTO ARDUI. LE IMMAGINI NASCONO SEMPRE PER CASO E SONO ACCOMPAGNATE DA “DIDASCALIE” CHE QUALCUNO AMA DEFINIRE POESIE. QUALCUNO SI E’ AZZARDATO A DIRE DI ME CHE SCRIVO CON LA NIKON E SCATTO CON LA PENNA E QUESTO MI PIACE MOLTISSIMO PERCHE’ IN FONDO LA MIA UMILE “ARTE” SI COMPONE DI FOTOGRAFIA E POESIA INSIEME... AMO COSI’ RACCONTARE LA VITA, QUELLA VERA, QUELLA CHE AMO “NONOSTANTE TUTTO”. LA VITA E’ LA PIU’ BELLA FOTOGRAFIA DELL’ANIMA E LA SUA PIU’ BELLA SUGGESTIONE E’ CHE NON ESISTONO SUPPORTI MAGNETICI CAPACI DI FERMARE OGNI SUO ATTIMO. LO PUOI FARE SOLO COL ...CUORE. RUTH CHUDASKA CLEMENZ Finsterwalde, Germany

I was fascinated about photography very early. My father gave me the first camera when I was about 8 years old. During my high school time I met a professional photographer who showed me the essentials and borrowed the first Nikon to me. He published the first photos when I was 18. Then it was my dream to own a Nikon for myself.

Now, more than 30 years have passed. I did not follow this way to be a professional photographer because I wanted to be free in my decisions what to shoot or not. For me force is the dead of photography. But the fascination for photography never completely left me. Meanwhile I could realize my dreams and after having long experiences with analogue Nikons I changed to the digital ones some years ago.... one of my dreams has fulfilled: I own professional gear and try constantly to improve my skills and to learn every day new and interesting things about photography and post processing. Â In my usual profession I work as psychiatrist expert testimonies for legal authorities in Germany. 81

SALVO ESSE Bronte, Italy

www.facebook.com/Salvo www.fototue.it/utente/2868/sparta www.fotocommunity.it/fotografo/essesse/2073510

My name is Salvatore Savoca. On the web, I am called Salvo Esse. I am 35 years old and I was born in Bronte, a small city located at the foot of the Etna volcano. If someone was to asked me how my passion for photography has developed, I would not know where to begin. I can surely say that it has started almost two years ago, and from that day on me and my camera have been inseparable. I would define myself as an autodidact and, until now, I have not been attending any course.

The first things to be photographed have been landscapes. I have always been in love with photos full of light and color effects. This has been until the day I have discovered a much more deep interest for photos in black and white. The best memory of that moment that I bring with me is the one of myself in a dark room with a thin light entering from a broken window. All of this resembled a typical black and white atmosphere streaking my imagination since the very beginning. It is only through photography that I feel myself at ease when expressing my inner emotions and thoughts. It also represents a way for me to try to understand people thinking and to capture them in the best way possible. Photography has the power to take off the mask that everyone wears. That is why, when I can give my photos a soul, I can say that I have given a “real” heart to my camera. I would translate this process into my appreciation for Street Photography. What do I think of photography? In my personal opinion, photography is like Noah’s ark, which contains and protects emotions, feelings and moments of life revivable in time. 93
