WePhoto “The Series” Minimal Vol 2 Dear all, I am very proud to introduce the new collection “The Series”. It was not so long ago since we have launched the first eBook, including the photographic work of the 15 administrators, who at that time were cooperating in the “WePhoto” group. Since then, we have published 21 eBooks and the Special edition “Calendar 2015” and now two Calendars 2016. This new collection – The Series - is made of different eBooks, each one (or more than one if required) related to a specific photographic theme, including the artworks of several authors from Italy and abroad. This is the second eBook of the seventh line of this new collection and has been dedicated to Minimal Photography.
We are all so excited and happy to be able to collect such beautiful images and, most of all to be able to share them with a wide audience. Minimal Una parola così “piccola” che nasconde un Mondo non visto. Infinite sfumature dei bellezza, di colori e forme. Il Mondo di MINIMAL è vasto, ricco di particolari e anche non ben definibile. Minimal può essere un paesaggio che guida lo sguardo in un unico punto, può essere una foto di Architettura, una “Street”, oppure qualcosa di così vicino a noi, un particolare che concentra l’attenzione, che “CREA” un immafìgine “MINIMAL”. Spero che questo mondo affascini voi, come affascina me, ed I bravissimi Autori.
Minimal A word so "small" that hides a WORLD UNSEEN. Infinite shades of beauty, colors and shapes. World of MINIMAL is vast, rich in details and also not well defined. Minimal can be a landscape that directs the gaze in one place, t can be a photo of Architecture, a photo of "Street" or something so close to us, a detail that focuses attention, that "CREATE" a picture "MINIMAL". I hope that this world fascinates you as fascinated me, and our talented authors.

Photography for me is a passion, a mixture of science and art that creates magic: each image is a mysterious part of something not yet revealed. In minimalist photography I look for the essential, the imaginary, the infinite repetition of a single element as lines and geometric patterns. 10

Mi chiamo Stefania Buratto e sono nata ad Alessandria nel 1977. Sono una grande appassionata di arte e ho iniziato a dedicarmi alla fotografia di recente, splendida forma di espressione per me. Il genere fotografico che preferisco è il minimal poichè sono dell’idea che “dove meno c’è più c’è ” e perché sono molto attirata dai colori, dalle forme e dalle geometrie essenziali.

When I asked myself how I could illustrate such things as light, brightness ,perspective and depth I found myself looking through a viewfinder.For me photography is a journey within yourself and from the world into yourself.My photographs are snapshots and touches of life that end up in an accumulation of happiness. M i n i m a l . Detto così sembra poco, eppure nasconde una vasta gamma di espressività diverse. Architettoniche, Geometriche, Cromatiche. Non sempre è facile definire I limiti, spesso si scivola da un Minimal ad un Close-Up, un B&W, un Landscape o altro. Certo, esistono delle regole, delle definizioni. Ma quale Buon Fotografo si lascia legare a delle regole? Io amo I forti contrasti, il colore esaltato spesso fino al limite, mi piace isolare un particolare, dividere forme e cromie. E quando guardo lo scatto e lo sviluppo, sento crescere dentro il fastidio di non essere riuscito a minimalizzare ancora di più.

Minimal. It sounds a small thing, and yet conceals a wide range of different expressiveness. Architectural, Geometric, Chromatic. It is not always easy to define the limits, often slips from a Minimal to a Close-Up, a B&W, a Landscape or otherwise. Of course, there are rules, definitions.But what good photographer let bind of the rules? I love the strong contrasts, the color often exalted to the limit. I like to isolate a particular, divide shapes and colors. And when developing the image feel growing inside the hassle of failing to minimize even more. 46

Photography? It’s a passion that I started grow a while ago thanks to my husband complicity. Since his photographic experience, I captured some moments, some of my native city’s particulars: Rome…a wonderful model! I like taking photos of nature’s colorful details, I like capturing landscapes, but, sincerely, I love “minimal”; it makes me feel free. The photos I took reflect my resolute personality. My job and my family keep me busy most of the time, but if I think that my lovely reflex is waiting for me and it’s gonna realize all my fantasies I feel good. I think I found a great panacea in order to beat everyday stress. 70

Vivo in Brianza, a Barlassina, e lavoro a Milano come ricercatrice di storia. Da non molto tempo mi sono avvicinata alla fotografia, attratta dalla street photography e dalla rappresentazione del paesaggio metropolitano. Vorrei qui proporre alcuni risultati della ricerca da cui è iniziata la mia avventura fotografica, ovvero la verifica delle potenzialità che un approccio minimalista offre alla comprensione dello spazio urbano: non una lettura meramente descrittiva, dunque, ma spesso una vera e propria trasfigurazione razionale e sintetica che consente l’isolamento e l’accostamento inedito di forme, colori, luci ed ombre. Ho un fotostream su Flickr (URL: www.flickr.com/photos/114510430@N03/) e numerose mie foto sono state selezionate da ‘PhotoVogue’ o pubblicate in alcuni magazines on line.
I live in Brianza, Barlassina, and work in Milan as a history researcher. Since I have not much time approached the photography, attracted by street photography and the representation of the metropolitan landscape. Here I would like to propose some results about the research from which my photographic adventure began, that is the verification of the potential that a minimalist approach started offering to the understanding of urban space: not a merely descriptive reading, then, but often a true and rational synthetic transfiguration which allows the isolation and novel combination of shapes, colors, lights and shadows.
