Portrait

Osservate a fondo questi occhi. Ognuno nasconde un profondo sentimento.

For us, the human beings, there could be nothing more ‘personal’ than a portrait. You look through a pair of eyes and you will find everyone hiding some deep emotions. Making of a portrait involves intricate techniques, observant eyes, and a creative mind because a portrait is not supposed to be just an image. It has to hold the essence of every individual personality. Whether it is a sweet girl with languid eyes, a rude old man with skin marked by time, or a child with sad eyes, their portrait has to strike the conscience of a viewer. It must make them lose their heart. Your job as the photographer is to seize the dream of that lovely girl or make the viewer feel the sourness of suffering. Mario Buncuga November 2016

LILLO BONADONNA Caltanissetta. Italy

I practiced photography for over 25 years having specialized in artistic analog photos of black & white Landscapes based on Zone System introduced by Ansel Adams. Since then I have now migrated to digital darkroom to process my black and white photographs, but still following the same old technique, obviously skipping some steps used in developing and printing.
While staying faithful to monochrome, I later got in to Reportage -now commonly called Street- until I developed a keen interest in Portrait photography. In portraiture the most important thing to me is understanding the eyes of the subject. I feel that my focus on this beautiful and expressive part of a face makes my lens interact with model even better. This brings about empathy that helps me produce the desired effect. In my portraits the other significant factors are focus on management of lights and choice of subject that together emanate a far greater charisma than the physical beauty of model. 10

Born and raised in Ligure city of La Spezia, as an amateur photographer I always had a desire to chase, discover, capture beauty in all its fervor and with this excite the viewer. The quest for detail, clarity and sensitivity make the basis for an aura that I intend to create through my images. I make emotions my means of communication and also an instrument of life. I choose those contrasts who know touch the heart, tring to give space to the sweetness and combating angularity. 22

DOMENICO MONTELEONE Padova, Italy

It has been nearly 30 years when I asked my mother to buy me a camera. The result was not great but it was the first time when I was excited in attempt to enclose the world within a small rectangle. I made my way in analog with the Yashica FX3 Super before coming to the digital world in 2003. The female portraits and glamor are the two genres in which I am able to express my artistic sensibility to the best. When I portray a woman, I try to go beyond her physical aspect, trying to capture her emotions and mood, a past hidden by her appearance. 34

PATRIZIA MORETTI Perugia, Italy www.facebook.com/PatriziaMorettiPhoto/

500px.com/papinamoretti patrizia-moretti.tumblr.com/

Nasco fotograficamente 5 anni fa.

I started photography five years ago. I am a nonprofessional photographer of Perugia (Umbria, Italy) and started shooting landscapes of WE of Tuscany casually using a budget compact camera and no technical knowledge. Then some fun encounters in the Facebook communities lead me to appreciate photography as a strong medium of expression. I started to manage a photo group, got to expand my circle of friends with professional photographers and my interest shifted from Landscape to Portrait photography. My first set of photos with models came out in October 2012 more by chance than a choice. The real beginning was marked by the release of my set of nude and glamor work in July 2013. Since then my career with professional models, publications, online catalogs and magazines has never looked back.2 46

A native to Russia, I live and work in Mumbai, India with my own studio. Known more as a creative and conceptual portrait photographer I do commercial work and regularly conduct photography workshops overseas. An avid reader of the childhood I learned about far away countries and the adventures associated with them. This made me into an eager traveler. India being the first in my list I landed in here and now for more than a decade I am settled in Mumbai. Photography has made the most interesting journey for me so far and the best way to explore and express myself. 58

WIL VESTJENS Venlo, Netherlands

it.pinterest.com/wil1958 www.facebook.com/wil.vestjens

I was born in Venlo in the region South Limburg, Netherlands. My father was

a very passionate

photographer and photography and film was like a red thread always within our family. With his ‘Rolleicord' my dad taught me how to use the camera and that’s what I made my first pictures with. During my high school time my great interest always lied in classical art. I loved to draw and maybe that's why combined with photography it became my greatest passion to shoot Classical and Fashion Portraits. At the moment I love the possibilities of digital age and try to achieve through it my own style. Because of my second passion ‘Argentine Tango’ the body language is most important for me. I always search for the perfect mood, position and feeling so that a magical moment may appear for the model and the photographer just like two dancers doing something beautiful together. I do hope you will enjoy my work. 82
