Gratitude My special thanks to Reportage Group/Page Team who have helped me select images, contact authors and collect materials. These people may always be found putting things together at the back office. Thanks to all the authors who have made this volume such a great collection with their valuable contributions. Thanks to our staff too, which is constantly managing and taking care of the group with its 12 thematic pages, pin-boards and online magazines. Thanks to my admin colleagues for their patient dedication. All this time when I remain away from the routine management of our network, they are the ones who take care of everything for the groups. I have no words to express my gratitude for the wonderful work they do every day with great passion and commitment. WePhoto Network the Founder

INTRODUCTION: Reportage
Since the time Photography started, an important, if not the most important, use of this form of communication has been the documentation of events. From sports to war, from political events and trade to the narration of common life events, in the streets, in cities, in villages or in the fields, it is all about the description of life in its numerous forms. Sometimes it makes a story or a news, at others it creates a basis for a protest or a reporting. But nothing has ever made a greater impact on the mind of its viewers than a pictorial coverage of an instance. We sincerely hope that you will have the same feelings by the time you flip through the last page of this eBook.

I was born in a small village in the south of the Netherlands called Meijel. Nowadays I live my life in Chitimba, Malawi, where I own and run a lodge/campsite along with the love of my life Carmen. Being in Africa I picked up my old hobby of photography once again.
I am one of those people who feel like they can see things better and more clearly through the viewfinder of a camera. I enjoy taking pictures of People, Landscapes, Architecture, Nature, Wildlife and everything else that appears in front of my camera. Basically, I just love taking pictures. I hope you will enjoy my work. 10

RUTH CHUDASKA-CLEMENZ Finsterwalde, Germany

I was fascinated about photography very early in age. My father gave me the first toy camera when I was about 8 years old. During my high school time I met a professional photographer who showed me the essentials and lended his first Nikon to me. He even published my first photos when I was 18. Soon it became my dream to own a Nikon for myself. Now, more than 30 years have passed. I did not follow his way to be a professional photographer because I wanted to be free in my decisions with what to shoot and what not to.
For me compulsion is the end of creativity in photography. But the fascination for photography never completely left me. Meanwhile I could realize my dreams and after having long experiences with analogue Nikons I changed to the digital one some years ago.. This is like getting one of my dreams fulfilled: Today I own professional gear and try constantly to improve my skills and to learn every day new and interesting things about photography and post processing. In my usual profession I work as psychiatrist, expert in testimonies for legal authorities in Germany. 58

TITO DALMAU Barcelona, Spain facebook.com/tito.dalmau flickr.com/photos/tito-dalmau moskabarcelona.com
I live in Barcelona, the city where I was born in 1948. I am an architect by profession, and a draughtsman and photographer by vocation. From my childhood I had a passion for drawing and used this visual language as the means to express the things that I imagined. This was one of the reasons for my choosing architecture as a career. I was young when I became seriously interested in photography, which is why many of my works of architecture are published with my photographs in many international books and magazines. Throughout my professional life I have often concurred my work as an architect with exhibitions of my drawings and travel photographs, helping me to balance the pressures that derive from my work.
Thirteen years ago I discovered India. Discoveries are always personal and my fascination with India makes me return every year to the state of Rajasthan - my favourite – although over time I have gradually been seduced by many other states in this immense country. Immense not only for its territory, but also for its cultures and its people. I like to think that my ability to make myself “invisible”allows my camera to capture people’s unguarded gestures, the secrets of their villages, their homes, their conversations, or the stray glances of travellers that move in the old buses that communicate rural areas. The fruits of my Indian travels are several books of photographs. The first was “RAJASTHAN. Houses and Men” (2007. Published in Spain by Editorial Lunwerg, in Italy by Contrasto, in France by Editions de La Rouergue). Other books are Limited Editions: “The Forgotten Havelis of Shekhawati” (2009), “Varanasi” (2010), “Viajeros de Rajastán”(2015). At present I am preparing “Conversations”, “The Rabari” and “Pushkar”, with texts by my wife Maka Abraham, anthropologist. Limited Editions are published by Galería MOSKA, Barcelona. Ever since 2009, whenever I am not travelling, I try to share one of my photographs online every day. And this year I go back to Varanasi. 70

TREVOR COLE Dunfanaghy, Ireland facebook.com/AlternativeVisionsPhotography www.alternativevisions.co.uk www.coleimages.com
I was born in Ireland but lived in England, Singapore, Togo, Italy, Ethiopia, Brazil etc. I returned to my homeland in 2012. Having lived in so many places, travel became a lifestyle and photography, a passion. I focus predominantly on culture and landscapes; my images reflect the journey of life and how we can live sustainably. I organize and lead tours in my hometown and other places where I have travelled and lived. I also travel by myself to discover new locations and capture them. My images have been published in magazines, calendars and cards. I presented them to The Royal Geographical Society in December 2011 and to the tertiary institutions in Ireland. My images have been used in the tourist industry, online travel writing and for educational purposes in the form of presentations for the International Baccalaureate
I have also exhibited in Ethiopia, Switzerland and Ireland. I have reached the finals and received special mentions as Travel Photographer of the Year in Wanderlust magazine consecutively since 2010, and won the title in 2016. I have been widely published and my work admired in National Geographic, 1x.com and Africa Geographic, The Guardian and Telegraph newspapers in the UK, Daily Mail Online, Edge of Humanity Magazine (America), and most of the major magazines in England, Spain, Africa, Denmark and America. I also attained 3rd place (Gold award) in the One Eyeland B&W Global photography contest in April 2018, besides several silver, bronze and other finalist awards. I aspire to have a vision for tomorrow - An Alternative Vision, which is more beautiful and sustainable. I believe that photography can capture inimitable moments and empower us to make a positive change in our world. 82
