WePhoto STREET Vol. 6 Street photography involves capturing ephemeral moments when subject matter, mood, composition, and light come together to create a meaningful or artistic photograph. The challenge of street photography—and its unique appeal—is finding a way to turn the mundane things we see every day into art. It encapsulates the unforgettable moments of life before they become history, small stories of our existence that would be lost in the flow of time if not captured and portrayed in an image and made immortal. Street life, like most other genres in photography, works around effective composition. It involves anticipation and since as the photographer you don’t usually have the choice of moving your subjects, you have to shift your position or wait for that decisive moment when the subject is right where and doing right what you expected them to do. Street photography may oftentimes be confused with the genre called Reportage. The fine difference lies in the intent and the basic principles about truly documenting the contents. Street life comes with a baggage of ethnic order as some street moments that the westerners define as exotic may be the everyday life for those who live in those places. The Street Photography has many nuances and may range from minimal style to a social report that documents the evils of a society tending to exclude and marginalize the weaker. But these are just a few facets of Street Life and those challenges many a time act as the major puller to the artists of this genre. The presented work is the finest collection of art and we hope that you will enjoy every bit of it. Mario Bunčuga Founder

Andreas Seilers Frankfurt, Germany

facebook.com/profile.php?id=100006977984863

When I look back it feels as if I had obtained my diploma in arts some centuries ago. I come from the painting background and it might be evident from the most of my photos. My first proper camera was an Olympus OM1. During those times we used to spend nights together processing images in the darkroom. After my graduation I got to work for the biggest and most popular exhibitions in the world.

That is why I know many of the well known photographers personally, from Fischli & Weiss, Gerhard Richter, Bernd and Hilla Becher to Jeff Wall. However, professionally I do not work for art anymore. I do photography just for the fun of it. Undemanding. Art is not something unforthcoming to anybody. All they have to do is open their eyes to the every day life, and there will be enough to discover. 10

GERMANA DE CHELLIS Roma, Italia

facebook.com/gdechellis1 facebook.com/dechellisph gurushots.com/germana/photos instagram.com/germanadechellis

More than myself, I let my photographs speak for me. For this Street Life selection I decided to present a visual collage describing the sequences in a rainy day spent at Rome's Termini Station‌ people running inbetween the buses, to find a shelter or to catch a bus that could take them home; or simply waiting until their scheduled bus arrived as seen in most of the shots.

When it rains, people When it rains, people perform unusual behavior: they run haphazardly for shelter, protect themselves or their valuables as they can without an umbrella.. some even dance in the rain. This creates many opportunities for spontaneous and effective portraits. The objects change shape, form or color; they become lucid, reflect lights and surrounding colors; like the array of umbrellas of a group of people crossing the street. Spontaneity and naturalness are the two fundamental elements that I look for before taking a picture. I will narrow down my field of vision at a passerby in the street who draws my attention through a gesture, a smile or a pose. Ten images that portray a range of dynamics that you would experience when it rains and offers you an opportunity to convey the same emotions that I had in those moments. 22

MASSIMO DELLA LATTA Massarossa, Italia

facebook.com/dellalattamassimo massimo.fineart-portugal.com/photos

My journey through the photographic arena began about eleven years ago. I have been a selftaught photographer without any formal education or training in this art. I have been blessed with an ability for research and a taste and sense for compositions. I live near the sea and that widely shows in my initial photographs. I use ND filters to emphasize and smoothen the skies and the waves.

I tend to shift my curiosity from one topic to the other very promptly. And therefore, I may randomly be doing anything from classic landscapes, to street, architecture, abstract, or portraits. However I prefer to take a minimalistic approach to whatever I would do. I have won many a competition; got my work published in magazines of related interests, a few of them being international. I do not have a personal website but you can see most of my work on my Facebook page or on the website of Fine Art Portugal at massimo.fineartportugal.com/photos. I am glad and contented with the way my journey is continuing. 34

RENATO SANTICCHIA Roma, Italia

renatosanticchia@yahoo.it facebook.com/renato.santicchia

I was born in 1954 at Fabriano (Ancona), and have been living in Rome since the age of six months. I started photographing when I was 25 but that succeeded with long periods of oblivion. Photographically, I was born back in 1985, with the purchase of a Nikon Coolpix and a basic course in photography. For a few years I looked for an expressive form that could represent me. In digital I find all those possibilities of instantaneous results that I did not have in the analog.

I could figure the passion gradually regain strengths in me, and my innate curiosity lead me to develop a keen interest in street photography where I found great creative possibilities. I prefer street photography because that is where I find great ideas. I like to photograph people at work places, their lives in underground, their moments of ignorance and isolation, faces lost in their own thoughts, dreams and concerns that occupy their minds most of the life. 46

instagram.com/planorosy/?hl=it

My name is Rosy Plano and I am from Montelepre, a little area in the province of Palermo - the beautiful Sicilian capital. I am a lover of photography and as such, everything about this world fascinates me. I started taking pictures in a sports event a couple of years ago. Each shot invoked in me a special emotion and through this episode photography has become my sole passion..

Over the years I have perfected my photographic technique, thanks to some courses I attended and the experiences I lived through. I have also had the pleasure of participating in some photo exhibitions and got my photos published in the magazines like: IL FOTOGRAFO; DIGITAL CAMERA and PHOTO PROFESSIONAL. I believe that photography is an effective medium to immortalize the moments of our life and to help you revisit them over a time. I love to take all kinds of photos, but the one that fascinates me the most is Street. I love the street portraits of old people because every wrinkle tells a life lived between joy and pain. Presently I am a founding member of the photographic association called: "TEMPI e DIAFRAMMI". 58

TEJAL MEWAR Gujarat, India

facebook.com/TejalArtwork

My name is Tejal Mewar. I am basically a government officer involved in exports promotion of textiles, living in Gujarat, India. I started photography as a hobby in 2014. I have Canon 1100D with basic 18-55 & 55-250 mm kit lenses. I am a self-taught photographer. Observing good photographs on various photography related forums and publications has helped me develop my own style. Every day I am learning something new and this process is endless. I like capturing candid moments in the streets of the people and their life, and have also got interest in nature and fine art photography. For me, anything I find unique or amazing for my vision can make me stop and click. In street there is no stage setting, no rehearsals. One has to keep the eyes open and mind alert, and at the right moment raise the camera, aim and shoot.

Some of my work has been recognized at national and international levels. My photographs have been showcased a number of times, and have been published worldwide. Photography has brought quite a lot of changes in my life. My attitude towards life has changed. It has brought lot of positivity in my life. My selfconfidence has increased a lot. I have become more patient. And more over I have also realized that, all the people in this world are good, only they have different points of view. I really love photography. It is keeping me happy from inside and taking me away from every worry of my life. It takes me somewhere that I have never been to. It helps me preserve these beautiful moments of life. All I want to say is: Camera is a wondrous tool that you may freeze beautiful moments of life with. And I am so glad I learned this. 70

TURY PIAZZA Palermo, Italia

facebook.com/salvo.dipiazzatury?ref=bookmarks instagram.com/turydipiazza/?hl=it

My name is Salvatore Di Piazza, more popularly called Tury. I come from the beautiful city of Palermo, in Sicily. Since 18 years of age I could not devote myself to anything with greater attention and participation than the world of photography. I am an amateur photographer passionate about photography at 360 degrees. I dedicate most of my free time to it. Photography is the only medium through which, I can express myself the best and look at the world from varied perspectives. In every shot I try to capture moments of common life and that is why I consider my photography natural and realistic.

Each photo of mine tells its own story and contains traditional colors, smells and flavors of my land, Sicily. In my humble photography resume, I can boast of having had several quotable experiences in the field. I have had the opportunity to display my works at photographic exhibitions and photo books. I have attended a few training courses to get a better picture of the field. Some of my photos have been published in various magazines like Photo Professional Photographer, Photo Cult, Photo Digital and Giornale di Sicilia. Photography makes me feel good and makes me discover new cognitive horizons every day. It is the means by which I relate to others and visit new places. As Helmut Newton said, three concepts summarize the art of photography: the desire to discover, the desire to excite and the taste to capture; and my passion contains all this. Presently I am the vice president of the Association - TEMPI E DIAFRAMMI. 82
