Fresh Steps Any member of staff who is open to reassessing their lives and setting new goals. The removal of the default retirement age, uncertain pension provision and an ageing UK population are rapidly changing the world of work. The pension age is being raised to 68 for men and women. Most people will need to work longer than they expected. Most organisations will need them to work longer, be more flexible, cope with change better, be open to retraining, re-skilling and be ready for a change of direction, mid-career.
How is it run?
What is covered?
Fresh Steps consists of four simple, yet powerful, ingredients:
n successfully dealing with change
n a two-day workshop followed by a one-day workshop
n the use of mentoring/coaching
n individually tailored research in between workshops n a comprehensive and stylishly produced folder of course materials and CD n peer group support and networking
n identifying what you want from work
n reassessing changing values n setting goals n your relationship with time n your health issues n the importance of exercise and relaxation n recognising your successes n relationships with other people n getting to grips with finance n clearing whatever is holding you back n gathering information
What can I expect to get out of the programme? The results vary from person to person – everyone sets their own objectives for the programme. Some people concentrate on moving onwards in their careers, whilst others prefer to focus on their quality of life outside work. Most have their own unique blend of both personal and work objectives. Commonly, participants walk away from Fresh Steps with a new spring in their step, open to new challenges and with a renewed sense of optimism and purpose. Employers are delighted with participants’ renewed enthusiasm and engagement in their work, coupled with a ‘can do’ attitude to life.
n relaunching yourself n presenting your experience positively n turning your goals into reality
