OPEN FORUM WITH LLOYD DEAN IS NEXT THURSDAY, MAY 1ST! Are you attending, but don’t know your bus?
You should have received a letter in the mail with instructions on where and when to meet to catch the bus to the Open Forum in Bakersfield. To find out which of the 6 buses you will be on, ask your director or email Lindsey.gallagher@dignityhealth.org. Once we arrive at the Rabobank Theater, everyone will receive a Hello humankindness t-shirt (as shown above). We are all encouraged to sport the shirt to create a sea of orange humankindness in the arena.
SSRM Launches Dignity Health Contract Connection The Dignity Health Contract Connection (DHCC), which has been rolled out in phases, should be available in its entirety in early June. DHCC allows Dignity Health to save money on purchased goods and services throughout the system and to better manage the 1,300 contracts that Supply & Service Resource Management (SSRM) is responsible for. The system stores and maintains group purchasing and local agreements and supporting documents such as requests for proposal, analysis, contract negotiations and vendor and participant compliance. The initiative will help ensure consistency in quality and purchasing practices across the Dignity Health system. Through initiatives such as this, SSRM has realized run rate savings of $74 million for Dignity Health during fiscal year 2014. These savings make us more competitive as a health care system, which is good for all of us and for the communities we serve. For more information please contact Wallis Hardie at : wallis.hardie@dignityhealth.org
A Paperless Option for Large Meetings Preparing packets for large meetings often takes an inordinate amount of time and paper. And when the agenda or presentations need to be updated, you have to reprint and redistribute the new documents.
Thank you to everyone who helped make our Relay for Life fundraisers a success! Kathy Padilla is all smiles at the Bake Sale
Lacey Newbry, Performance Excellence System Director, was convinced there had to be better way. So after the 2013 Performance Excellence Summit, she looked for and discovered a solution, a smart phone app that allows users to create a branded mobile app for conferences and events that can be downloaded on all smart phones. And the Performance Excellence team used it with great success at this year’s summit. The app features a timeline where participants can post comments and pictures during the meeting. It also offers messaging for meeting participants as well as presenter bios and presentations and maps of the meeting locations and the area surrounding the hotel. The app is under review for systemwide application, and there may be other apps that will meet your needs. If you’d like to learn more about this option for paperless meetings, contact Lacey.Newbry@DignityHealth.org.
