The Drug Store Project is a comprehensive middle school drug prevention program designed to educate youth about the dangers of substance use and abuse. The Drug Store Project is in its 9th year and is an event where the community of Atwater comes together to sponsor what could be the largest collaborative prevention activity that continues to be conducted in our area.

This year impacted more than 550 sixth graders from the Atwater

Elementary School District. The event was conducted at Mitchell Senior Elementary on Friday, October 23, 2015. The program is sponsored by the Atwater Caring About Kids Community Council and the Atwater Elementary School District along with the California National Guard, the Central Valley HIDTA, the Merced County Multi Agency Narcotics Task Force, Merced County Sheriff ’s Department, the Atwater Police Department, and Dignity Health Mercy Medical Center.
