The quality of teaching is superb; each student receives individual support and guidance and all members of staff go the extra mile to ensure students are respected and valued as individuals. As parents we felt welcomed and readily engaged in the powerful, triangular relationship between home, college and student. WE ADD VALUE AT ANDOVER COLLEGE Government data puts Andover College’s A Level programmes in the top 5% of all the colleges in the country for Value Added. This means Andover is 16th in the country out of 348 colleges nationwide and second in Hampshire. What is value added? Value added measures the extent to which students achieve grades beyond their original target. It shows the improvement students make and demonstrates the quality of teaching and learning at the College. Value added is a more accurate measure of success as it takes into account the different starting points and measures progress in the same way across the board. Parents can be assured that an outstanding college, like Andover with top value added scores, will ensure all students go beyond their initial targets and fulfil their true potential.

“The thing I have enjoyed most about my time at Andover College is the freedom we were given to go out and create, to come up with our own ideas and to ultimately make something amazing. I also enjoyed the people I worked with – both students and lecturers – who have the same passion for creation as I do. For as long as I can remember I have loved everything media related, especially books and film. I found that with these two types of media you could create a world completely different from our own – one that others could escape to, away from their everyday lives. I took this course so that I could learn the skills needed to create these worlds and characters so I can ultimately create a place people would want to get lost in.
