In order to raise awareness and to help fund the fight of this illness, Robin has embarked on various endurance challenges and as a result has set himself a target of no less than 3 half marathons as well as successfully taking part in the ‘Tour De Bradleys’ cycle ride, completing 116 miles in the first two days. Robin has already completed the Plymouth Half Marathon on Sunday 27th April smashing his personal best by crossing the finish line in 1 hour 50 minutes. He is now set to run the Bristol Half Marathon taking place this month on Sunday 21st September and continues his arduous training. The final challenge will be Exeter’s Great West Run on Sunday 19th October. The grand total raised by the company so far, now exceeds £6,000.

AS an estate agent, you might expect me to say that property is the better investment by far. However, it all rather depends on what you mean by an investment. Call me old-fashioned, but I like to think buying a home; somewhere to call your own, to come back to after a hard day at work, maybe even to raise a family in, is arguably the best, most important and most worthwhile investment any of us can make. But, you are of course talking in moneymaking terms. Now, figures prove that from a purely money-making point of view, stocks and shares actually perform significantly better than property. A recent report from the Halifax, for instance, pointed out that investing £100,000 in a buy-tolet property in 1989 would have produced a 201 per cent gain, adjusted for inflation, or an annual return of 4.8 per cent. By contrast, the same amount invested in the FTSE 100 over the same period would have produced a return of 653 per cent, or 8.4 per cent a year, assuming you reinvested your dividends to buy more shares. However, for a great proportion of us, stocks and shares is a complicated business and the level of risk too high. Going back to property, there may have been peaks and troughs over the years but long term it’s a pretty good investment. News on the property market reveals some very interesting facts for those looking to invest – the cost of owning a home is now about £1,300 a year cheaper than renting. And despite talk that there may be a rise on the interest base rate later this year, demand is unlikely to waiver, so if you’re looking to invest, take a look at property.
