Number of property millionaires up by 50% THE number of homeowners in Britain who can claim to be ‘property millionaires’ now stands at 484,081, almost 50 per cent higher than a year ago. Zoopla’s Property Rich List 2014 shows that the 10 most expensive streets in Britain have seen property values grow 12.9 per cent over the past year, compared to the rest of the country where average values have risen by 6.6 per cent over the same period. HE trend for featuring creatures – great and small – is gathering pace, with dogs leading the pack, closely followed by owls, and with foxes, squirrels and rabbits bringing up the rear. In Exeter fully furnished lettings are currently on the increase following a previous trend of renting unfurnished properties. Weekes Estate Agents in St Leonard’s looks into the curious change in market patterns IN today’s world there are many more people coming from abroad for work and study opportunities and Exeter, with its many language schools, interesting history and surrounding countryside and coast, has always been a popular choice. However, in recent years we are now seeing a large influx of PhD and research students coming from the Middle East to study in Exeter. Exeter University has specialised for a long time in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies. It is part of the Russell Group, the UK’s elite group of top universities, and is one of the foremost academic institutions in the UK. It offers research and taught degree programmes in a wide range of areas within the field of Arab, Middle Eastern, and Islamic Studies.

Trend setters: The University of Exeter The university houses a centre for Gulf studies, a centre for Kurdish studies, a European centre for Palestine studies, and a centre for Persian and Iranian studies. The students coming from the Middle East are typically mature students, both male and female, who are academics and university lecturers.

They are sponsored by their governments to enhance their knowledge and carry out research on PhD studies. Typically they stay in Exeter for three or four years, bringing families with them and the children attend the local schools.
