2015 Fraser Valley Commercial Building Awards Welcome to a night where we celebrate the very best Commercial and Industrial buildings in the Fraser Valley - from Surrey, the Langleys, Abbotsford, Mission and Chilliwack! This is the 5th Annual Fraser Valley Commercial Building Awards, and we’re delighted to again have real estate expert Ozzie Jurock as our Keynote Speaker. Invest Northwest Publishing Ltd., which published the Business Examiner Fraser Valley newspaper and publishes four other Business Examiner papers throughout B.C., produces this event, along with Commercial Building Awards on Vancouver Island, the Thompson-Okanagan-Kootenay region, and northern B.C. The criteria required a building or renovation project to complement the surrounding properties and area, be esthetically pleasing, include unique architectural features, and answer a specific development need within the community. The level of finish and choice in construction materials was also a determining factor, as was any environmentally friendly or green elements for possible consideration. We are very excited about the future of these Commercial Building Awards, and the high level of quality development underway all over the region. This program has been designed to showcase the finalists, and the results of this event will be distributed to media outlets throughout the region, and be available online through www. businessexaminer.ca. Ozzie Jurock (FRI) is the author of “When, Where, and How to Buy Real Estate in Canada” as well as other books.
Allan has served in numerous capacities in various local and national real estate organizations, including the Canadian Commercial Council of`REALTORS® which represents the interests of Commercial Real Estate practitioners of the Canadian Real Estate Association, and now serves on the Commercial Committee of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver.
He is the publisher of Jurock’s Real Estate Insider since 1993 and the CEO of the Real Estate Action Group. Ozzie is the only Canadian real estate advisor featured in Donald Trump’s real estate book: Trump: The Best Real Estate Advice I Ever Received.” He has been involved in the real estate industry for 40 years also serving as president of Royal LePage and NRS Block Bros. Further, he ran Royal LePage Asia in Taiwan and was the president of the Canada Taiwan Trade Association.
He is the President of Paramount Realty, a boutique Commercial Broker in the Greater Vancouver area and has been a member of the Commercial Dvision of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver for 35 years. Allan has also served as the President of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver and the Real Estate Institute of BC.

Stacey Crawford is the Economic Development Officer for the District of Mission. In this role, he is responsible for managing the economic, tourism and film development portfolios of the municipality. Stacey began his professional career in real estate and worked as a realtor for five years. Following his time in real estate, Stacey worked for nine years in the community development field with Community Futures Development Corporation in communities throughout the Fraser Valley. Following this and prior to his current role, Stacey was a commercial account manager with the Business Development Bank of Canada. In addition to his professional career, he has an extensive background as a community volunteer that includes past and current board governance with the Kinsmen Club of Mission, the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce, Community Futures Development Corporation and the Rotary Club of Mission Midday. In addition, Stacey currently serves as Chairman of the Board for Prospera Credit Union. His formal educational background includes a Diploma in Business Management from Thompson Rivers University and a Master of Arts in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University, along with several professional certifications. Press Release Celebrating the best of the best in Fraser Valley commercial buildings LANGLEY – Surrey Christian School was named the Judges’ Choice Best Overall entry in the 2015 Fraser Valley Commercial Building Awards November 25 at the Cascades Casino Resort in Langley. Surrey Christian School also won the Excellence Award in the Community Institutional category in the 5th annual event, which celebrates the best commercial and industrial buildings in the Fraser Valley, from White Rock to Chilliwack. Real estate expert Ozzie Jurock gave a wide ranging synopsis of “The Trudeau Effect on Real Estate” as keynote speaker. “Surrey Christian School is an excellent example of a 21st century learning environment, of how a building’s aesthetic can enhance the quality of experience and comfort, while being beautifully functional,” Awards coordinator Mark MacDonald announced at the event. “The building focuses on occupant health and well being and utilized healthy building materials, an abundance of natural light, and the visible presence of wood.
