Categories Whenever I see a post or blog on “truck driving jobs”, all I understand that there are wonderful opportunities in this field. But, usually these posts consider the “truck driving jobs” as a whole. While there are Different Types of Truck Driving Jobs to suit the job requirement of different drivers. Taking the cue, here I am giving a brief on different types of driving jobs which, I believe, will help the job seekers in making an easy selection of the profile they want to choose.
· Pulling a Dry Van - Here the driver is required to drive an approximately 53ft trailer carrying dry or non-perishable goods. This is the least paying driving job as it requires less of driving excellence. · Hauling Refrigerated Freight: Here the driver needs to tow freights where temperature is required be kept at specific temperatures, like frozen or even below that. Here the driver gets some extra responsibility and accordingly the payment scale also increases. · Hauling Flat Bed Loads: These kinds of drivers haul oversize freights like airplanes, scaffolding for construction, military tanks, etc. Here, the drivers need to drive very cautiously. · Pulling a Low Boy: Here, the drivers need to haul low floor trailers that carry taller equipment, which are often oversized and overweight. · Tankers: Drivers require hauling liquids, which can be gasoline, milk, petrol, diesel etc. For towing explosive petrol, the driver is provid3d with proper training. Sometimes tankers are used to haul dry bulk products like cement, sugar, etc. · Bull Haulers: Here, the drivers haul trailers that are used for the transportation of live animals. Special training is given to the drivers regarding the proper hauling of live animals.
