English Language and English Literature The Remove will embark upon an exciting and varied course of study, reflecting the English Department’s enthusiastic approach to creative writing and commitment to stimulating wider reading. There is no coursework, which allows teachers to explore a broad variety of texts and assignments. This includes the Remove Poetry Festival, the Remove Short Story Competition as well as texts ranging from contemporary to pre-1900. In the second year of the course, the Hundred, pupils will be prepared more specifically for examinations by studying set texts and learning to apply the reading and writing skills they have developed previously.
