he joy of a brand-new borehole is significantly dampened when almost more minerals than water are bubbling out. The presence of calcium and magnesium ions in a way enhances the bad cholesterol levels of your irrigation system. If you do not consistently apply a decalcifier with great effort and cost, you will continue to struggle with water pressure, water accessories that do not work properly and an excessive power bill. It will take two shakes of a lamb’s tail before you suffer a lot of damage.

The PTH device is amazingly simple and easy to install in your existing water system. Fortunately, there are smart people like PTH, who understand the chemistry behind calcification. With a clever innovation, they have designed a simple, permanent and maintenance-free system that softens hard water. PTH stands for Protection against Total Hardness. This Israeli-made water treatment system consists of a stainless-steel casing and a tube with a built-in core, composed of 12 different precious and semi-precious metals, which serves as a catalyst. The system
is manufactured in sizes from 12 to 300 mm, to handle water volumes from 600 to 1 million litres per hour. Systems up to 50 mm in diameter have standard threads on the points for easy installation, while larger units make use of flanges. The PTH requires no chemicals or salt and operates without any electricity. By releasing electrons from the inner core, as well as turbulence generated by the unique shape of the core, with its built-in fluid orbits, the lime (cations, for example calcium and magnesium) present in the water is effectively broken up and kept in suspension, so that it harmlessly flows through the water system without forming a precipitate. In other words, when water flows through it, weak electric fields are produced by electric potential difference between this patented alloy core and the metallic cylinder. These fields and the venturi effects stemming from the unique configuration of the core, prevent the adhesion and cohesion of

the waterborne mineral particles. Additional electrons are released from a neutral ground-earth wire, which is supplied free of charge with each device. The lime present in the water is therefore not extracted as with a conventional water softener, but its composition is changed and broken up or neutralised. (The polarity of the mineral salts is also changed in the treatment process so that it no longer binds together and forms a limestone deposit.) This causes brackish water to taste noticeably better and that is infinitely more suitable for crops and plants that are sensitive to water of poor quality (for example waters with high salinity which causes brackishness, that is due to high concentrations of sodium and chloride).
