Marquette students know they can see officers from the Department of Public Safety roaming campus after dark. There are also members of DPS, however, who protect students from behind a desk. These are the Safety Service Officers who work as security in residence halls from 12 a.m. to 7 a.m. each night. Evelyn Diaz, or “Eve,” is an SSO in McCormick Hall.
