MEET OUR MEDICAL DIRECTOR

DR. WESAM MOUSTAFA HUSSEIN

Dr. Hussein is a double American Board Certified Physician in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. As a medical student, Dr. Moustafa Hussein completed a clerkship at the prestigious Harvard Medical School’s Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. He was then selected for an internship at the world renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Hussein then went on to earn his medical degree at Ain Shams University School of Medicine in Cairo, Egypt in 1998. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at AtlantiCare Medical Center in Pomona, NJ in 2010. During his residency he was the first ever intern awarded the Dr. Katz Award for his courtesy and care towards patients and colleagues. Dr. Hussein then completed his fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC in 2012 where he was also awarded “Best Teaching Fellow” by his colleagues.

During his career, Dr. Hussein served as the chairman of the Ethics Committee at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center. He also served as Vice-Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center from 2017-2019. He went on to be the President of Medical Staff at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center from 2020-2022.

As a hospital physician and post acute care attending as a hospitalist, Dr. Moustafa Hussein is dedicated to serving our community and is focused on providing patients with the best personalized care.

Specialty Programming

Whether one is recovering from surgery or illness, our innovative programs effectively deliver optimal short-term rehabilitation outcomes in Orthopedic Recovery, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Stroke Management, Cardiovascular Care, Chronic Kidney Disease Management, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neuro Recovery and Chronic Illness Programs.

Utilizing the latest clinical protocols and rehabilitation technology, their stellar interdisciplinary team of therapists, nurses and doctors ensures an all-encompassing continuum of care focused on every patient’s physical, social and emotional well-being.

Partnering with leading physicians from local hospitals offers the continuity and continuum of advanced care from the hospital to our center.

Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

Under the leadership of Rubeena Vincent, NP, we aim to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to people with physical impairments or disabilities.

Our Physiatry Provider:

• Treats patients of all ages

• Focuses treatment on function

• Diagnoses and treat pain as a result of an injury, illness, or disabling condition

• Determines and lead a treatment/ prevention plan

• Treats the whole person, not just the problem area

• Leads a team of medical professionals, which may include physical therapists, occupational therapists, and physician extenders to optimize patient care

• Works with other physicians, including primary care physicians, neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, cardiologist, pulmonologist and many others

Chronic Illness Program

Kathleen Gorham, NP

Our program is offered in collaboration with Kathleen Gorham, a Nurse Practitioner from Capital Caring. Kathleen provides pastoral support to address the pain, symptoms, and stress of chronic illness.

In partnership with our patients and or responsible party, every member of the team works collaboratively to develop an effective Care Navigation plan. Our belief in providing a better patient experience through quality and satisfaction will ensure successful navigation through the health care continuum.

• Patient-centered needs/preferences identified on admission with assessments and continues throughout the stay

• Choosing the appropriate placement in the Marquis continuum

The Urgent SNF™ Service at Marquis Health Consulting Services supports a global health care expectation for the right provision of care in the right place at the right time. Therefore, our solution driven service aims to provide an alternative option to individuals not meeting acute admission criteria, however requiring and/or benefiting from supervisory skilled rehabilitation services, skilled nursing oversight or stabilization.

HMO: Willingness to accept without prior authorization with select HMO/ MCO Private Pay: Reduced Private Pay All Inclusive Rate promoting the stabilization often necessary to avoid repeat and unnecessary ER/ED visits. All-inclusive services include room/board, meals, therapy and nursing services.
