Briarwood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center is a vibrant community of care conveniently located down the block from Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham.

We have been highly successful at keeping our rate of re-hospitalization down and according to recent State Surveys – overall satisfaction at Briarwood Healthcare exceeded ALL other facility averages in our area.

To renew the strength of our subacute patients we have created an upscale and reinvigorating environment that empowers one to return home as quickly as possible. Our Alden Road neighborhood is dedicated to the post-hospitalization care of individuals recovering from joint replacement, cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and other acute medical conditions, and features a state-of-the-art therapy gym with advanced technology including the AlterG® treadmill.

An integral part of the Needham community, our top-notch professional staff partners with the best healthcare providers in the area to deliver exceptional clinical care. Our multidisciplinary team is comprised of medical professionals who are friendly and always accessible, providing residents’ families with an exceptional comfort level.

Cardiopulmonary Care

Our physician led program, under the direction of both a cardiologist and pulmonologist, is focused on helping patients achieve the most active life possible despite any cardiopulmonary diagnoses and physical limitations.

We tailor our program for individuals with heart disease and pulmonary disease, with diagnoses such as: CHF, COPD, post heart and lung transplants, emphysema, acute myocardial infarctions and acute respiratory failure.

Our Comprehensive Program Features:

• Cardio and pulmonary consults on-site

• Full-time respiratory therapist, on call 24 hours

• Multidisciplinary O2 weaning program with overnight oximetry capabilities

• Tracheostomy care & management

• High flow in-wall oxygen

• EKG’s & echocardiograms on-site

• Non-invasive ventilation to include cpap, BiPAP & trilogy

• Nebulizer therapies

• Pacemaker assessment & monitoring

• IV lasix & Solu-Medrol

• Laboratory & radiology services

Prior to discharge, home suitability is assessed, post-discharge care is coordinated along with equipment and services, and cardiac/pulmonary education is provided to patients and caregivers. A follow-up appointment with the primary care physician is scheduled within 7 days.

Subacute Rehab

At Briarwood, we are proactively addressing your subacute care needs in our dedicated 40-bed short-term rehab neighborhood. Reflective of our approach, we start planning your discharge immediately upon admission. Individualized care plans are crafted to ensure optimal healing – fully preparing you for your return home following a hospital stay.

With therapy delivered daily, our expert team of therapists uses the latest rehab technology and techniques to optimize your mobility and independence, and help you regain your overall sense of wellbeing.

Our successful usage of the Interact 3.0 program in conjunction with our post-discharge follow-up care keeps rehospitalizations to a minimum. To assure your recovery doesn’t lose its momentum once you return home – we make sure to schedule your initial doctor’s visit before you leave Briarwood.

Memory Care

Cypress Street, our memory care neighborhood, is under medical and psychiatric direction and offers a secure and nurturing setting for individuals in various stages of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Our care partners in this secured neighborhood are well-trained in the most recent advances in Alzheimer’s and dementia treatment. In addition, every one of our employees undergoes intensive training developed by the Alzheimer’s Association to ensure they are uniquely attuned and sensitive to our residents’ singular needs. We believe that every behavior represents an unmet need and never turn to medication as an easy solution. Under our care, medication levels are brought down significantly!

Designed to fill every moment of each day with life-enhancing experiences, our specialized Alzheimer’s & Dementia Recreation Program focuses on eliciting and sustaining positive emotions, maintaining dignity, and creating moments of success. The program is directed daily by a full-time Certified Memory Care Activity Director who is a Certified Eden Educator and credentialed as a Certified Dementia Practitioner.

The Urgent SNF Service at Marquis Health Consulting Services supports a global health care expectation for the right provision of care in the right place at the right time.Therefore, our solution driven service aims to provide an alternative option to individuals not meeting acute admission criteria, however requiring and/or benefiting from supervisory skilled rehabilitation services, skilled nursing oversight or stabilization.

URGENT SNF PAYMENT OPTIONS:

Medicare A: (qualified 3 night) stay within 30 days

HMO: Willingness to accept without prior authorization with select HMO/ MCO

Private Pay: Reduced Private Pay All Inclusive Rate promoting the stabilization often necessary to avoid repeat and unnecessary ER/ED visits. All-inclusive services include room/board, meals, therapy and nursing services.
