Show rules
Eligibility:
All Owners and Handlers must be financial Members of AMHS Inc. to enter and compete at this event. All horses must hold a current registration with a recognised Miniature Horse Society. Pending Registrations will NOT be accepted. Horses must be entered in their respective height for age classes according to their age at 1st August. All horses must show according to the height officially measured. Substitutions will not be accepted. All equipment including must conform to safety standards and comply with all insurance obligations.
Entries/Payments: All horses not registered with AMHS Inc. must have a copy of both sides of the original Registration Certificate accompany the Entry Form with your payment, or the Entry will NOT be accepted. All Entries must be posted (postmarked) by the advertised closing date. Confirmation of entries will be emailed/posted before the show if time permits (there are no refunds). Please make all cheques/money orders payable to AMHS Inc.
Exhibitor Information: Stables: Exhibitors to contact WPNEC directly – 03 9741 7672. Facility Fee: Exhibitors will be required to pay the WPNEC Compulsory Facility Fee of $16 per horse per day. Passes: Exhibitors will not be issued with Complimentary Passes. However Exhibitors may purchase a Vehicle Pass ($12 inclusive of GST) with their entries. A Vehicle Pass will admit an Exhibitors horse transporting vehicle and its occupants only. Only Exhibitors able to produce a Vehicle Pass will be allowed entry to the venue at no charge. Where a Vehicle Pass cannot be produced, you will be required to purchase one at the gate. The RASV and/or AMHS Inc. may make or cause to be made any test of any Exhibit to determine whether any Drug or Stimulant has been administered to the Exhibit and may take possession of any such Exhibit for any of the aforesaid purposes and detain such Exhibit for such period as is deemed necessary by the RASV and/or AMHS Inc. Drug means any substance capable of affecting the performance, appearance or behaviour of an Exhibit by its action upon the central or peripheral nervous system, the cardiovascular system, the respiratory system, the alimentary digestive system, the muscularskeletal system, or the urogenital system including without limitation, analgesics, antihistamines, anti-inflammatory agents, blood coagulants, diuretics, hormones and their synthetic counterparts, cortico-steroids, anabolic steroids, local anesthetics, muscle relaxants and tranquillisers, vitamins administered by injection. The Exhibit, the Exhibitor, the owner of the Exhibit and any other person who the RASV/AMHS Inc. deems to be in charge of the Exhibit, will be liable to a penalty referred to in Regulation 7.1 of the General Regulations of the RASV Show Rules if the Exhibit is on the Showgrounds and is found to have had any Drug administered to it. It is no defence for a person prosecuted for this offence to plead that they were unaware that a Drug had been administered to the Exhibit. It is the sole responsibility of the Exhibitor to ensure that his / her Exhibit is Drug free whilst on the Showgrounds. A person who administers causes to be administered or is involved in the administration of a Drug to an Exhibit or who has in the person's possession custody or control any electric or galvanic apparatus or improper contrivance will be liable to a penalty referred to in RASV Show Rules, Regulation 7.1 of the General Regulations. Procedures for the testing of Drugs will involve both "random" and "spot" tests on Exhibits. At the discretion of the RASV/AMHS Inc. there will be blood testing of Exhibits prior to competing and/or blood and urine testing at the end of the competition. The RASV/AMHS Inc. may make or cause to be made, any test of any Exhibit at any time, before, during or after competition.
Where Exhibits are tested for Prohibited Substances, the Exhibitor or Agent will be required to sign sample labels and sample identity cards relating to any samples taken from the Exhibits. Where the Exhibitor or Agent refuses to sign the sample labels and/or sample identity cards, the Exhibitor and/or Agent and/or the Exhibit shall be automatically disqualified. Competitors should be aware that particular attention will be paid to the detection of sedative and tranquilliser Drugs but analysis for all Classes of Drugs will be included. The collection of samples may include taking blood from the jugular vein, urine collection and the collection of saliva. The RASV may also select any Exhibit for examination for desensitized limbs. Any Exhibit found to have a limb or part of a limb desensitized by any means will be deemed to have competed under the influence of a Drug and penalised accordingly.
Entries on the Day: Entries on the day are accepted at Double Price between advertised times. AMHS Inc. Membership Card MUST be presented if requested. All Owners & Handlers are to be financial Members of AMHS Inc. Original Registration Certificates (No Registration Pending) must be presented on the day. For Non AMHS Inc. Registered horses, a copy of both sides of Registration Certificate is to be submitted with your Entry Forms and correct payment on the day.
Measuring: All Horses MUST be measured during the advertised times (excludes horses holding an AMHS Inc Height Card) unless otherwise arranged with Show Manager due to unforseen circumstances. Please bring your original Registration Certificates to measuring so brands and microchips can be checked. At measuring it is the entrant’s responsibility to record if your horse has changed classes because of a change in measurement. Any horse not measured prior to the show will not be permitted to enter and will forfeit entry monies paid. Height for age rules do apply on all AMHS Inc shows. The Committee will not be held responsible for any horse that misses a class due to height change. It is a condition of entry that you agree that your horse may be tested for drugs at any stage during the event upon request.
Protests: General Protests: Any Protest must be submitted in writing and accompanied by a $50 Protest Fee (which will be refunded if the protest is upheld). Any Protest must be lodged within 30 minutes of the alleged incident. Height Protests: All competing horses (with exception of those holding a height recording card) are required to be officially measured and recorded at an AMHS Inc. event (which is to be completed and witnessed by at least two other Members). Protests on horses heights will only be accepted within 30 minutes of the horse being measured (the Protest to be lodged in writing with the $50 Protest Fee, which will be refunded if upheld). Horses may be re-measured twice. The last measurement will be deemed the final height. No Protest will be accepted in regards to a horses height once an AMHS Inc. event commences.
Show Rules: All AMHS Inc. Shows are run in accordance with the AMHS Inc. Constitution and Show Rules. It is a condition of entry that you accept these rules and will show in accordance. Any person found in breach of these rules may be disqualified and it may also lead to further disciplinary action.
