Amo molto la tecnologia e l’informatica. Inoltre, lo spazio celeste mi ha sempre affascinato per essere senza confini e barriere e mi sono sempre emozionato a vedere le strutture dei satelliti nello spazio, lucidissime e piene di antenne radio e pannelli solari. La Tx1 è la mia prima lampada e l’ho disegnata con l’intento di fare un prodotto che esprimesse le mie emozioni, versatile, caratterizzato dall’emettere una luce indiretta e orientabile (la luce può essere riflessa per 30° max in due direzioni). Mi sono ispirato ad un radar che si orienta verso lo spazio per comunicare con i satelliti e il nome che le ho dato deriva dal codice di un satellite. L’idea di partenza è stata quella di un riflettore lucidato a specchio su cui incidesse la forte luminosità data da lampadine dicroiche colorate RGB (red-green-blu) inserite all’interno di un corpo tubolare in alluminio, in modo da poter creare qualunque tipo di colore sfruttando un comando remoto. Quando la lampada è nata non era ancora disponibile la tecnologia LED, adottata poi nel 2009 (due anni dopo la prima versione). A questo primo aggiornamento tecnologico importante fa seguito l’introduzione della tecnologia bluetooth che consente di comandare la sorgente luminosa utilizzando una APP per smartphone o tablet e ottenere tramite la nuova tecnologia “tunable white” una luce calda o fredda in base alle proprie esigenze, oltre alle mille diverse colorazioni che la tecnologia LED già consentiva. La lampada per le sue dimensioni e le caratteristiche illuminotecniche è ideale per essere utilizzata nel soggiorno, su un tavolo basso vicino al divano.

I really love technology and computing. In addition, celestial space has always fascinated me because it has no boundaries or barriers, and I have always been excited to see the structures of satellites in space, very shiny and full of radio antennas and solar panels.

The Tx1 is my first lamp and I designed it with the intention of making a product that would express my emotions, be versatile, emit indirect light and be adjustable (the light can be reflected for 30° max in two directions). I was inspired by a radar that orients itself towards space to communicate with satellites, and the name I gave it derives from the code of a satellite. The starting idea was a mirror-polished reflector on which the strong luminosity given by RGB (red-green-blue) coloured dichroic bulbs inserted inside a tubular aluminium body would affect, so that any type of colour could be created using a remote control.

When the lamp was created, LED technology was not yet available, which was adopted in 2009 (two years after the first version). This first important technological update was followed in recent days by the introduction of Bluetooth technology, which allows the light source to be controlled using an APP for smartphones or tablets and to obtain, through the new “tunable white” technology, a warm or cold light according to one’s needs, in addition to the thousands of different colours that LED technology already allowed. The lamp’s size and lighting characteristics make it ideal for use in the living room, on a low table near the sofa.
