Who you gunna call ? Ghost Busters

I had a sickening feeling in my gut, like when you’re confronted with the smell of something really spoiled and rotten. Your nose tells you to be aware, be careful, something’s toxic, something’s off. I gagged then burped and coughed. “This place feels awful.” I said to myself. But there was no off smell, nothing that appeared rotten or off, or was there?

Gift

This was a client’s apartment they had rented out to bad tenants with bad vibes. It felt shabby and unkempt yes, but the worst of it was the feeling the place had: just pure bad, a sad feeling in the air, coming out of the very walls. You would think I would have gotten used to this by now. I had been clearing and cleansing other people’s homes for many years. Oh well, just another day of Space Clearing. My client had gotten me in to Space Clear both their home and this investment apartment they were having a lot of trouble with. The latest tenants were again bad tenants, as were the ones before them and before them yet again. Drug addicts and this time worse, with mental health issues to boot. I had at that point, no idea of any of this history, but I could feel it in my bones. The house was whispering to me, telling me all its stories of sadness, grief, anger and sickness that were trapped in the walls, the floors the entire fabric of the building, all the ills of the human condition, all the unrealised dreams and the lost love. I could feel tears welling up as I burped and gagged yet again. My client who was hovering by the open door said, “Can you fix this?”

Idea’s

Whilst this place was a lot worse than your average home needing a Space Clearing, I knew that clearing it would help to reset the energy of this poor little apartment so it would be light, clear and supportive of whoever next lived here. “OK,” I said. “Let’s sort this out. Where’s my house doctor’s bag?” I grabbed my big frame drum and began to tell the house with sound and song, precious herbs and smoke that it was loved after all. The very indwelling living spirit of the home seemed to begin to smile and the etheric smell began to dissipate and abate. The happy ending to this dark tale is that within a few days of clearing it, and investing the place with positive energy vibes and love, my client rang me to announce with great glee that he had rented the apartment out to a charming young executive who had asked for a long lease and much to his complete consternation, if it was all right if she repainted the entire unit, at her cost. Space Clearing, which is markedly different to Feng Shui, may be an ancient

tradition but frankly, it is needed even more so, in our modern times, than ever. Especially in your normal suburban home or place of businesses. Sadly, just leaving the television on brings in negative energies from the outside world, let alone all the inadvertent negativity we create ourselves in our home.

ALM READING Of Melissa Cook

At times in the past you have been quite serious about life, with too much responsibility and duty. You’ve had to take a back step with having a good time because of your serious outlook. This has also slowed down your creativity and imagination in order to do something which bores your mind. This has done you no favours as you like to learn and be mentally stimulated. Career-wise, you would be suited to careers in journalism, teaching, psychology, law, or even finance. You have a gift for writing. I believe you will write a book or write articles for magazines. You enjoy knowing what makes people tick and are often correct when playing hunches. Self-employment would suit you down to the ground as you like to do things your way, with our own style of doing it. You have great business sense and thrive on keeping a busy schedule. You like to keep to a routine and follow a set method. Everything is carefully detailed, you’re practical and logical and you’re forever thinking ahead and looking at all the possibilities.

When you were younger you may have held two jobs at the same time. You have a good vocabulary and have the ability to get your point across. At times you may be a little blunt and shock people with what you have to say. Remember to be diplomatic as you can kill more flies with honey than you can with vinegar. You can be quite determined and head strong at times as you’re prepared to aim high for your goals and fight for what you believe in.

At times you like to be alone and enjoy your own company being quite introspective. There is a part of you that you like to keep private, a side that many people don’t get to see. You may need a partner that keeps you mentally stimulated as you like to learn. You’re warm, emotional and affectionate and may have unconventional relationships and others may see you as a little eccentric at times. Most of the time you’re cheerful and happy, but you doubt this stability to be an illusion. You can be quite sensitive at times and cry at a drop of a hat if something moves you. Family is important to you and you are loyal to those you love. By nature you’re quite creative at times and have the ability to turn your ideas and insights into reality. If you pursue them you can become quite the success. On the health front, when sick, you recover quite quickly. Plenty of exercise would be great to let go of any pent up energy. Yoga or meditation would do wonders for you as your mind can become quite chattery, with too many thoughts going on at once. The beach or any water will still your mind and create an inner peace, developing your creativity and imagination event further.

Are You A Cusp And What Does That Mean? by Chris Johnson (C) Copyright 2014

LIGHT I was a Photographer specialising in equestrian photography. I was keen for a career change and wanted to create something that would keep my interest; but also I realised there was a gap in the market for reasonably priced, good quality equestrian giftware. Dark Horse Studio was launched over three years ago now and I haven’t looked back. People ask me where I got the name from Dark Horse Studios from but the name just popped into my head! But I have always loved black horses. I have two horses of my own; Champy and Baldy that are my inspiration. Customers do gravitate to my Champy pieces particulary and my Cog Horse Design tends to be a firm favourite as well. Dark Horse Studio is featured in this issue of SilentEarth The Magazine.

“What’s your star sign, baby?”

It used to be the classic pick-up line for people born after 1950. Simply replying with your sign of “Scorpio” or “Gemini”, for example, could sometimes determine if you were going to bed with the enquirer or going home alone. However, I have a different response that confuses some people even now that I have left the dating scene for wedded bliss. When I tell people I’m a Sagittarius and Capricorn cusp, most people gain a glazed look and say, “What the -?” That’s when you realise they don’t know what the star signs mean. However there are still a lot of people, in this time when most people have access to such information, the word “cusp” is still a source of mystery!

So, what is a cusp?

A cusp is someone who is born within 2-3 days of either star sign, the time that the sun is making a transition from one sign to the next. For example if you are born within the last 2 days of Leo then you are on the Leo-Virgo cusp. You would be under the influence of both horoscope signs. It is possible to determine which star sign is stronger if you know the time and location of your birth, not just the date. In my case, I was born 15 minutes into Capricorn but am still strongly influenced by the optimistic and adventurous Sagittarius. If you are a cusp, you may find that the different energies of your two signs can create extra perspectives. A Pisces-Aries may find the sensitive parts of the water sign affected by the fiery assertiveness of the fire. To fully understand yourself as a cusp, I still recommend you speak with an astrologer about your birth chart. In the meantime, if you want to read your star columns in the magazines, you can either choose the sign you want to read or (like I do) read both signs and mix the two together (or decide what you like best). If you’re dating, and really cheeky, reply to the question with, “I’m a cusp, fancy a threesome?”

NADINE SHARPE Nadine Sharpe is the creator and wearer of contemporary polymer clay, resin and rope jewellery. She lives in the Inner West of Sydney and sells her jewellery online via Etsy and locally at the Kirribilli Art & Design Markets. She creates and makes all her designs. After spending over 20 years working in the corporate environment, doing jobs that I really didn’t like, I decided it was time to break out and do something that I was passionateabout. It was a big risk as a single parent with two small children, but I figured that the more fulfilled I was, the happier I would be and the happier my kids would be as a result. Plus, it was important for me to show my children that you need to follow your dreams and do something you really loved. I had always loved big, statement jewellery. There is nothing that dresses up a simple outfit more than a beautiful necklace. I had amassed a huge collection of other people’s designs over the years, but I had so many of my own ideas that it was a natural thing for me to start making my own. It’s hard to say which of my designs I like the most. I love working with rope, the feel of it and making something that looks great from something so simple. I have been teaching myself how to use polymer clay and resin, and I am really happy with what I am producing at the moment.

It is always a challenge bringing an idea to life. There is the financial cost, the tools and equipment you need, the workspace and so on. But one of the biggest things is having the confidence to believe in yourself and to take the risk of putting your product out there for everyone to see.

Hark the Herald

Justin is singing BY JAIME SKY

I came across Justin Herald in a Book Shop back in the summer of 2003. I was walking up and down the aisles aimlessly when suddenly he caught my eye. “Would you like Attitude with that?” He said staring at me with such ferocity and determination, and with his arms folded, it was clear he meant business. “Hell yeah!” I shouted as I picked up his book. Little did I realise this book would alter my life and change my direction completely. I would name drop whenever the opportunity arose. “Do you know Justin Herald? he started a business with just $50, did you know that?” I would say in conversations. When people would look at me blankly I would continue. “He did it to piss of a churchie. Everybody knows him,” I would say to my friends. I was quite pleased that I knew something that they didn’t. “Would you like Attitude with that?” became my own personal Bible. I would read and then re-read and quote this little book to anybody. I wanted to share my discovery with everyone, about this fascinating man I had stumbled across in a Book Shop. Ten years later and I was still talking about my Justin Herald discovery. Times had changed since I first discovered him. Technology had advanced and I now found myself looking for him on the Internet; and I found him, and it wasn’t hard. It would seem that word had go out about my Book Shop man discovery and everyone was now talking about him. I knew I was onto a winner back in 2003, I knew it wasn’t just me that thought this man was brilliant. I went to one of his seminars and listened to him first hand of how he did what he did. He had the crowd in the palm of his hand. He drew everyone in with his expertise, his passion, his humour and…well…his normalness. Justin Herald is normal! You could go to the pub and have a beer with him he is that normal. This is my chance to get to know this man. I had been having a love affair with his book for ten years and I wasn’t going to walk away empty handed.

JUSTIN HERALD I don’t think anything can top the success I had with Attitude. I have done many things since then, but this is the story that people seem to like best. The Attitude Story. My Dad was a Minister for the Church and I would go to Church and listen to him preach about life. I was 25 at the time with no direction, no job and no luck. There was a lady that went to the Church and with annoyance had said to me sternly. “Justin, you’ve got an attitude problem. You always talk back to people. You will never get anywhere in life with that attitude of yours.” After debating with her that I did not in fact, have an attitude problem, I set out on my revenge tactic. After going to the ATM to withdraw money (I only had a little over $1 to my name) I head to my brothers and ask him for $50. Cautiously he asked me what it was for. “To upset the woman that goes to Church,” I said. He freely gave me the money. I then found a Tee Shirt Printers that offered to print 4 Tee Shirts for me for $50 only on the condition that I didn’t tell anybody. After agreeing, my plan was in motion. My mates and I head to Church the following week wearing the Tee Shirts. One of the slogans was “I don’t have an Attitude problem, you have a perception problem”

Two great things happened that day. 1) The lady got annoyed. 2) I sold 3 Tee Shirts for $20 each.

Attitude started as a Slogan Tee Shirt brand, and it worked. Would it work now? Probably not. There are so many Tee Shirt brands in competition with each other; it wouldn’t have had the same impact or success. At the time Attitude was launched, there was no competition. It was new and people just loved it. I had no business plan, no profit or loss plan, no budgets and I never borrowed money. People go into business for their own personal reasons, perhaps to buy a house, maybe for a better lifestyle, to have things. The only reason that I decided to start a business was to upset a lady at Church. That was it. That was my business plan.

The first year Attitude was launched with just $50, It made $980,000, the second year it turned over 2.5 million, the third year 5 million, the fourth year 12 million the fifth year 22.5 million and in the end it turned over $37.5 million. I’m an ideas man. I had an idea and it worked. That’s the Attitude story. I have published 8 books since Attitude. I mentor to over 100 businesses and corporations every single year and I speak to well over 150,000 individuals per annum. I receive 30,000 hits a day on my website Justin Herald and I was 2005 International Entrepreneur of the year. Pretty impressive for someone that wanted to annoy a lady in church. Now I mentor Companies, Business and individuals on how to create a business out of an idea. I share my experience, and even though I have not yet come across anyone who wants to upset someone in Church – the theme is still the same. How to be successful without it costing a fortune – and here’s where I step in. I have also launched Customer Culture, which is a customer service and sales training company, Serve You Right, an App that takes your compliment (or complaint) regarding the service that you are facing and delivers it straight to the company that you are dealing with. Branded – a Marketing and Communications business where I speak to a variety of agencies and finally my mentoring small businesses and public speaking seminars where people receive information and ideas along with a mentoring programme that can last anywhere from 3 months to 12 months. I started the business to annoy someone. I continued the business because I wanted things. I live a simple life but I must admit, I do love my cars and Harleys. That’s why I do it, to buy the things that give me joy. It is also important to reward yourself when you have your head down and bum up. Stop and see how far you have come. I always make sure that I go on holidays to take some time out; and it wasn’t that long ago that when I was overseas, I actually ran into a teacher from my old high school. At school, she had argued that I wouldn’t be successful in life and that I would end up on benefits and wouldn’t amount to anything – obviously because of the ‘Attitude” I had. After some small talk, I found it incredibly amusing and ironic that she was wearing an Attitude Tee Shirt. Spinning It For Charity

Photo Courtesy of Funky Munky Photography

People know you from the Party Circuit as the resident DJ of several clubs: But what most people don’t know is that you are the Founder of “The Closet Charity Gala” What does this Gala night stand for or even stand against? The Gala night was originally set up because of the lack of GLBTI community events on the Gold Coast. Up to 2012 the Gold Coast was home to “Gold Coast Gay Day” which, at the time, was the only Community Charity Event run by Qahc. When the Newman government came into power, Qahc was stripped of funding which in turn meant the Gold Coast lost its only pride event. The Gala Night was designed to help replace a small part of this vital missing piece for our local community. Each year we pick a particular charity (this year is “Youth Suicide Prevention”) and all the profits made from The Closet brand are handed over to the charity. How do you bring awareness of this Charity to the community and to the population as a whole? We attempt to bring awareness of the particular Charity of choice by getting as much community involvement into the Gala night as possible. We have 4 major sponsors on board. Escape Nightclub, Bangn Bodz, Teamm8 and of course, SilentEarth. All who have donated their products and helped advertise this particular night. We then have 19 performers who have also donated their time to the night as well as advertising to the event. Between the sponsors, performers and our own advertising, our target audience reaches thousands & thousands of people in the lead up to the night for the Charity. While I understand that not all of these people will attend this event, we have still done our job by getting word out about Youth Suicide and the relevant charities available. There are a lot of non-profits out there. How have you been able to stand out in the crowd and get attention in regards to your Charity Gala? We have aimed this event for people aged 18-80, not just a particular age group like most try to target. I understand that not many people over 60 will attend due to it being in a nightclub, butvenue is very spacious and has an amazing outdoor area that is a bit quieter then inside the club. We have 19 of the best performers from the GLBTI community as well as some amazing surprises in store on the night. I believe this is what sets this particular Charity Gala Night apart from the rest. Not to mention it is also the only GLBTI Charity Event currently on the Gold Coast. The Closet Charity Gala raises funds for Youth Suicide Prevention. Does it also raise awareness? Yes it does also raise awareness. From the moment we released our poster we made sure that we were also raising awareness of youth suicide & prevention. Why did you decide that you were going to focus on Suicide Prevention? To be honest I did not decide to focus on youth suicide prevention. Once I hired the entertainment for the event I sent a group poll out to all of them and asked whom they wish this years Charity Gala’s money should go to. It was suggested by one of the Deejays and it won the vote from everyone.

Where did the name Closet Charity Gala come from and what does it represent? The Closet – Is the brand of event that I run once a month on the Gold Coast as a “Dance Event”. Charity Gala was the particular name we went for with the charity night I wanted to run. Combined together you get “ The Closet Annual Charity Gala”. This particular night represents the community coming together, having an amazing time being entertained by the performers, for a very worthy charity. 1. 2. 3. 4.

What do you want to gain from the Charity event? To show that the Gold Coast still has an amazing GLBTI community that has just as much pride as any other community. To raise awareness of youth suicide and that there is help out there for them. To raise money for the Charity of choice. For everyone that attends the night to have a positive memorable night.

How long have you had the Charity Event for? The first Charity Gala was in 2014, which I organized myself. Hopefully there will be many many more and I intend to be a part of them all. What are your top three tips for young people trying to start a Charity Event? Pick a worthy cause for the event to go towards that everyone can agree on. Organize it at least 8 months before. Make sure your event sticks out from the rest. What is your role within the Charity Event? The Closet (the brand running the event) Event Director What are the details of the event so people know when they can be part of the event? The Closets Annual Charity Gala 2015 details are as follows. Thursday February 12th 2015. It is held at Escape Bar and Club in Surfers Paradise. If you want to check out any details regarding the event as well as other events leading up to it you can check it ALL out at www.theclosetgc.com . While you’re there, Don’t forget to jump onto our Facebook and Twitter pages as that is where we keep the most up to date information! As for pricing of the Charity Gala we are asking $10 entry fee of which all of the entry price goes to the Charity. So, you’re a DJ?! How long have you been a DJ for? Just under 5 years. What’s the last song you played on your Ipod Cry for you – September What song do you dance around in the lounge room to when no ones watching? How do you do – Cascada What’s something interesting about you? I didn’t apply or want to go into Deejaying into nightclubs… it happened by accident but I have loved every single minute of it. What’s your secret obsession? The Simpsons! …. They are AWESOME What was the last text you sent “Why is there no KFC open after 11pm” Describe yourself in 3 words. Night-owl, weird and unique And finally, the 3 questions everybody wants to know…. DJ Sammy, who would you… Snog? Zac Effron Marry? P!nk if I was straight. Harry Styles I suppose? Avoid? Lindsay Lohan

Numbers are the basis of the Universe. Used correctly, they can predict earthquakes, sunrises, harvest times and eclipses - why not the turning points in your life? I believe that you choose to come to Earth for a reason, which is encoded in your date of birth and name. Your numerology life purpose (aka lifepath) reveals your spiritual job title or description. The more you live your purpose, the more positive energy you attract, in the form of miracles, love and abundance. Straying from your purpose tends to result in feelings of frustration and being blocked at every turn. You could compare it to driving on a highway versus a dirt road full of potholes. You’ll use far more energy in the second scenario to drive the same distance. So, how do you find out your life purpose? Using Pythagorean numerology, you simply add your date of birth from left to right. This will give you a double digit, which you reduce to a number between 1-9. Don’t reduce 11, 22 or 33 as these numbers indicate you are a master number lifepath (with double responsibility/ skills in a certain area).

For example:
3/7/1980 = 3+7+1+9+8+0 = 28 = 2+8 = 10 = 1+0 = 1 lifepath
5/3/1967 = 5+3+1+9+6+7 = 31 = 3+1 = 4 lifepath
11/4/2003 = 1+1+4+2+0+0+3 = 11 lifepath Although your lifepath is only one aspect of your numerology, it is a helpful starting point for exploring your soul contract and what you’re here to accomplish. Here’s a rundown of the 12 most common lifepaths:

Lifepath 1 The Pioneer - You’re here to be ‘one of kind’ and to blaze a trail for others to follow. You could be the black sheep in your family. As someone who’s good at starting things, you need a team to help carry out your vision. Many Australian Prime Ministers and Hollywood action stars are lifepath 1’s.

Lifepath 2 The Peacemaker – You’re here to create harmony and heal conflict in society. It’s easier for you to give than to receive, so remember to take regular breaks and to nurture yourself. Your high intuition and adaptability helps you to overcome tricky obstacles that would defeat anyone else.

Lifepath 3 The Expressive – You’re here to speak up and be a change agent. Your greatest strength is your quick mind and communication skills. When you focus your energy you are a force for creative accomplishment. A high proportion of singers, artists, managers and intellectuals carry 3 energy.

Lifepath 4 The Builder – You’re here to create calm from chaos. You have the ability to steady any project and often attract responsibility. It’s important for you to stay fit as you are a very physical lifepath. Many spiritual leaders and business people have 4 lifepaths, because ‘slow and steady’ finishes the race. They are often successful with real estate.

Lifepath 5 The Rebel – You’re here to break people out of stale mindsets. You have an uncanny ability to make the most of any situation and benefit from travel and variety. No matter what your age, you appear forever young due to your mercurial nature. Actors and teachers often have 5 energy.

Lifepath 6 The Lover – You’re here to bring comfort and protection to those in need. A natural parent, people feel at home around you. When you curb your tendency to over-sacrifice, you become an example of work-life balance. 6’s are drawn to community, home-based or environmental work. They are visionaries with a developed sixth sense.

Lifepath 7 The Seeker – You’re here to ask questions in life and study people deeply. As someone who learns from trial and error, life will be challenging until you develop your spiritual side. Then you’ll become a beacon of light. Psychics, writers and healers frequently have 7 energy.

Lifepath 8 The Boss – You’re here to teach perseverance and material success. You’ll often be tested on your ethics, because you’re learning about karma (what goes around comes around – see how 8 looks like an infinity loop?). You have a wonderful ability to recover from setbacks. 8’s tend to go into business, education, finance and philanthropy.

Lifepath 9 The Thinker – You’re at the cusp of spiritual maturity and are definitely an old soul. Many people will seek your help in this lifetime. Remember to seek mentors and coaches so you don’t burn out. You can thrive in any occupation, as long as you feel you’re making a difference. Master number 11, 22 and 33 carriers are highly charged versions of the 2, 4 and 6 lifepaths. All of them are naturally psychic and good at manifesting their desires. They benefit enormously from studying metaphysics, including numerology, and do better in large groups. Many are late bloomers and see number sequences like 11:11 or 111.

Once you know your lifepath, you can research it further online. The double digit that makes up your lifepath also has significance e.g. a 28/10/1 person will be most successful from 28 years old. For more articles and celebrity profiles visit my website listed below. You may be surprised at how many of your friends and family end up being the same lifepath. This makes sense, as there is strength in numbers (pun intended) – the more people you can bounce ideas off, the faster you tend to evolve.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this peek into the mysterious world of numerology. Once you know your ‘spiritual tribe’ your whole world will open up. Happy number-crunching! Meet The Coffee Man Dude

Justin from Brisbane, is the owner/operator of Kombi Koffein that is featured in this issue of SilentEarth The Magazine. In between his loud speaker announcements, I was able to corner him to ask some very serious questions. What possessed you to start this business from a Kombi Van? Insanity, an inflated sense of ego, and a drive to be creative. What were you doing before you parked and perked? Nightfill and working in a Laundromat. Does the Kombi Van have a name? Yes, she’s called Muriel. My Grandma really encouraged me to go with my gut, so I named the van after her.

If the Kombi Van could talk what would it say….. Hopefully she’d tell me her story and all of the crazy chapters she’s had in her life. Do you drink coffee? Yes I do, I love the stuff. If you were a cup of coffee what would you be? A small strong flat white with no sugar as that’s my order.

What’s more famous the Kombi or the coffee? Hopefully they’re as famous as each other. Do you get more customers with the loudspeaker? It’s hard to say, but it does give me a greater range for taking and announcing orders. Do you usually get hot looking models sitting on the roof of your Kombi? It has been known to happen but not all the time. Was that a loaded question? What’s the last text you sent? “Hey mate, is everything ok?” To a friend and barista of the van. If I came to your home and opened the fridge, what would I find? Believe it or not: meat, cheese, eggs, fruit and veg, leftovers, soda water, beer and wine. My diet is a lot better now thanks to my lover who’s a bit of a foodie.

Finally Justin How much wood can a woodchucker chuck if a woodchucker could chuck wood? That’s very hard to say as it would depend on a range of undefined factors.

You can visit Justin and Muriel at Kombi Koffein at Westend Markets, Brisbane on Saturdays.

A DOSE OF THE MUMPS BROUGHT SANTA TO LIFE “Christmas is the best time of year” Melissa proclaimed “because everybody is so nice to each other. Isn’t that right Mummy?” She looked at Rebecca. “Even you’re quite nice at Christmas,” She said. “Well, let’s hope this year is better than last,” I said. “That wasn’t exactly full of good cheer and merriment was it?” Two weeks prior to Christmas we had a minor setback. It all started with Rebecca. She suddenly began doubting Santa’s authenticity. Actually, the disbelief reared its ugly head when he arrived at the children’s Christmas party on the oval, aboard a table top truck. Rebecca was not impressed. “How come he isn’t in his sleigh?” She demanded to know. “Well,” I replied “Reindeers are very shy creatures. Santa probably thought it was best to leave them at home.” “He could have left them over there,” She said, pointing to the farthest end of the oval, “Where there’s no noise and heaps of grass.” “That would be alright I suppose, until the kids saw them,” I replied, “they would want to pat them and Reindeers aren’t used to that” After that, on many Yuletide forays into Department Stores she became very suspicious. “How come there are so many Santa’s?” “Oh none of those are the real Santa. They are only his helpers,” I replied. “No they are not,” She shouted “everyone knows that Santa’s helpers are the Elves!.” Then, she became a true doubter. She refused to divulge what she wanted for Christmas.

CC

“Santa will know – if he’s real,” was all she would say. I was starting to panic. Here it was, two weeks before Christmas and I still didn’t know what Rebecca wanted. I enlisted the help of my brother. “Ring Rebecca,” I said “tell her you’re Santa and ask her what she wants.” Well he did, but Rebecca was not to be outwitted. “It’s not really Santa,” She said “because he hasn’t got one” “Hasn’t got a what?” I asked. “A phone of course” she said “because he hasn’t got a house.” “Well, if he hasn’t got a house,” I asked, “where does he sleep?” “He doesn’t,” she said “because he’s not real” I had to think of something in a hurry. A quick trip to the hypnotist didn’t seem like a bad idea, but less costly however, was a brief talk to Heaven. “Please,” I begged, “give me a sign, anything, that will make Rebecca tell me what she wants.” Well the sign came alright, like a bolt from the blue. “My neck hurts,” said Rebecca “and my throat is sore” “That is the sign of the Mumps” said the Doctor. Rebecca became worse and was admitted to hospital two days before Christmas. “Do you think Santa will know I’m here?”she whispered to me “Will he remember to bring me my Baby Alive Doll?”

aitlyn’s olumn

That was last year. I hope this year I don’t have to ask the Universe for help. Rebecca hasn’t had the Chicken Pox yet.

“You are mad, quite mad - it will never work - not in a million years!” we were told, and we replied, “It will work. It has to”. And so it did! But let’s go back to the beginning; a rocky start for a group of eight, all in animal rescue, all passionate and all apparently stark raving bonkers; but we didn’t see it that way at the time. We were too busy putting together a plan. A big plan! We were sick of talking, tired of sitting on our hands, and totally fed up with seeing rescuer after rescuer fold due to lack of support, lack of appreciation and lack of resources. Night after night we sat, brainstorming and devising a wonderful concept, asking others for their opinions and advice on our ideas. We sought out those who had voiced their frustrations, their confusions at being forgotten, and also those who had some wonderful and innovative ideas. The initial group of eight grew to an ebbing and flowing group of over 50 and together we nutted out what our new organisation should aim for, what it should do, and what it should look like. Then we came up against the brick walls. Hard brick walls. Quite a few bruises came from that bashing! The non-believers, the haters and the doomsayers came out to play, and they targeted us ferociously. They nearly drove us underground, and scared almost everyone away, but a couple of us kept on plugging away, refusing to be defeated so easily. With the criticism we had to acknowledge that those active in animal rescue have several theologies, all very different, and all relevant, but in order to satisfy each of them we had to come up with a way of giving an all-encompassing welcome to any genuine animal enthusiast. Faces on the team changed again, new blood came on board, and the momentum gained speed. A new focus directed at helping the animals via the rescuers, as opposed to solely focussing on the rescuers themselves, was instrumental in gelling everyone together, and finally, at long last, with a great and inspiring team, the National Animal Rescue Groups of Australia (NARGA) Inc was born. So, you’ve been patient and read through this far and are now probably thinking “well, what on earth do they do?” Right? We will mention just some of what we

Are You A Cusp And What Does That Mean? by Chris Johnson (C) Copyright 2014

chris@thementalist.com.au

My client who was hovering by the open door said, “Can you fix this?” Whilst this place was a lot worse than your average home needing a Space Clearing, I knew that clearing it would help to reset the energy of this poor little apartment so it would be light, clear and supportive of whoever next lived here. The happy ending to this dark tale is that within a few days of clearing it, and investing the place with positive energy vibes and love, my client rang me to announce with great glee that he had rented the apartment out to a charming young executive who had asked for a long lease and much to his complete constenation, if it was all right if she repainted the entire unit, at her cost. Space Clearing, which is markedly different to Feng Shui, may be an ancient tradition but frankly, it is needed even more so, in our modern times, than ever. Especially in your normal suburban home or place of businesses. Sadly, just leaving the television on brings in negative energies from the outside world, let alone all the inadvertent negativity we create ourselves in our home.

Sickness, sadness worry or the simple act of an unfulfilled dream or unrealised aspiration, a single sad thought or worse, spoken words of anger or despair can create a small but cumulative pocket of down-ness of darkness. All of which, over time, builds up, embeds itself in the home and creates a less than ideal environment in which to live and thrive. The more hard - core and mystical aspect of Space Clearing is Ghost Busting. Some homes and some people do experience non-helpful spirits, ghosts or entities. These energies may not be malevolent as such, perhaps just disruptive of sleep, often creating fear in the family, which makes it worse. Often times it is children who are more aware and experience these phenomena as night terrors. These types of problems are often associated with the home being on a spirit line, ley line or song line, or the junction of two of these lines, which tend to work as spirit highways, the junctions being spots to hop off. Other entities stay resident in places that may have been meaningful to them in life. People often get scared because spirits can project onto the person now living there, another person from the ghost’s previous life. So, for instance, the ghost might say “Come with me to the other side,” which can be quite scary stuff, but this is being addressed to the ghost’s ex-wife, not you. They simply just see you as that other persona they want to see. Often, these troubled homes require clearing and healing with dowsing and earth acupuncture as well as Space Clearing. You can read up more on Space clearing techniques on the net or on my web site www.anthonyashworth.20fr.com but the fundamental first steps are:

1. Clear clutter from your home. (This subject deserves its own article.) 2. Keep your home in good repair, availing it to plenty of natural sunlight. Like creates like, so a light home tends to stay lighter energetically. This can apply to use of colours too.

3. Get clear on what you want to let go of and what you want to bring forth, including (but not restricted to) the negative energies in your home.

4.Buy a White Sage smudge stick, (or use an entire packet of quality incense in one go). Smoke up and smudge each room and every corner.

5 Make loud noises progressing through to beautiful sounds, to drive out the negative. Pots and pans will do. Drums and bells all the better. Use the smoke and sound to literally carry all your positive intentions and prayers.

6. Make offerings and gifts to spirit of flowers, rice, crystals, etc. Whist this article has focused somewhat on the negative effects of not Space Clearing, the big plus in Space Clearing is what it brings forth in your life, bucket loads of positive energy and a much greater likelihood of your dreams and desires being manifest, right now. If you would like to have your home Space Cleared I’d love to be of service. I also run regular one day DYI Space Clearing workshops.

The next phase of your life after forty, you may be wanting to let go of job responsibility as you may feel you deserve a break, letting go of routine and preferring to be more spontaneous, throwing caution into the wind. You will open up more to life and what it has to offer you. By getting out of your head and following your heart, you will live more mystically. You love to travel and you may be wanting to up-root and move abroad for a while. You have come a long way from the beginning of your life, perspectives have changed. Listen to your instincts and take a risk because I know you’d like to. It’s time to enjoy, be happy and successful as you have the ability to live the life you’ve imagined. After spending over 20 years working in the corporate environment, doing jobs that I really didn’t like, I decided it was time to break out and do something that I was passionate about.

I have had some great support, which has helped me take that step, and I am so grateful for it. I now believe in myself and know that I have made the right decision. So now I am a wearer and creator of beautiful jewellery. I now know that anything is possible and that it is only myself that can hold me back. And I’ll be having none of that!
