The questions are extensive but are not intended to be intrusive or insulting. The goal of Second Chance Pet Rescue of Grand Lake is to place formerly neglected, abandoned, and abused dogs and cats into homes in which the owners will provide their pets with safe refuge, adequate nutrition, consistent veterinary care, and abundant love and respect. The information you provide will facilitate the endeavor to place homeless animals into their forever homes; where they can thrive and become a treasured member of your family. Second Chance Pet Rescue of Grand Lake reserves the right to decline the adoption of any animal. We also reserve the right to request a home check and inspection before approval of any adoption. A quarantine period is recommended if you have other pets at your home. A check-up at your veterinarian is advised. Although animals in the shelter are treated for intestinal parasites, it is not guaranteed that they don’t have intestinal parasites. 30 Day Return Policy: You may return your pet for any reason within 30 days from the date of adoption and elect to receive an Adoption Credit Voucher. The voucher may be redeemed toward the adoption of another animal of your choice. The voucher is valid for 90 days from issuance. Please note: Adoption fees are not refundable Upon redemption of the Animal Credit Voucher, if you select a pet with a: 1. Lesser adoption fee, the difference will not be refundable 2. Greater adoption fee, you will be expected to pay the difference Provision for the Care and Well Being of Your Pet: You are expected to provide your pet with safe refuge, sufficient shelter from the elements, adequate nutrition, and consistent veterinary care. Spay/Neuter Requirement: Animals adopted from the Second Chance Pet Rescue of Grand Lakeare to be spayed or neutered as soon as they are mature enough for the surgery. This policy is a mandate and no exceptions will be considered. If you, as the pet owner, refuse or fail to alter your animal, you will be required to surrender your animal to Humane Society of Grove and Grand Lake. Your spay/neuter deposit will be forfeited. Statement of Understanding and Agreement: By signing the Pet Ownership Contract, I certify that I have read, understand, and agree to its terms. I understand that failure to abide by this contract may result in the forced surrender of my animal to Second Chance Pet Rescue of Grand Lake.
