REFLECTION
This project helped me understand the skills to look around me and identify different joints. Whether it wood or any product joint I can Identify it's function and it's relation to the parts of the product. In addition to that this project created knowledge for me to link it to my designs to create furniture. I am able to design furniture and able to know which joint is necessary for the parts to be joined. Also I was able to get more knowledge on product detail and was able to understand more in depth the various skills required to make product designs. In conclusion this assignment achieved it's goal of developing my technical skills.
PROJECT 2 : ARTISAN'S BOX
ARTISAN'S BOX REFLECTION This project main aim was to help us students understand the usage of the tools, mechinaries and techniques involved in furniture making. Even though this module went through the pandemic and lock downs I was full able to grasp the knowledge this assignment was supposed to taught me. In addition to that I was able to clearly see how the furniture designing process works with the help of lectures. From understanding the measurement and dimensions to fitting different joineries are some of the things I have learnt through out the process of making this box. Also, the wood shop equipment and machines processes were quite an interesting time for me as I actually learn a lot visually than by listening so to be able to actually see what was going on was a big help in making the box. In conclusion this assignment has increased my knowledge in both joineries and wood working

REFLECTION This project was a bit of a challenge and the knowledge I received from my previous two projects helped a lot in overcoming that challenge. As I was creating the prototypes I understood more about the joineries and ways to handle the issues that came along with as I proceeded on with my designs. Quite a few I noticed as there was problem with it being imbalance and not staying in one place. To overcome that I had to have it hanged to the wall but even though it was though it was hanged it is still movable. In addition to that as I went to final stages I added more components to my design to make it more usable and user friendly. This assignment succeed in giving me knowledge on furniture design and also made me focus on detailing and the function of the design I add. Different joineries are important for a furniture to work and this was too an important lesson I learnt in this assignment. To conclude I will proceed to learn more about designing furniture as this I something I have quite and interest and something I look forward maybe work in that field.
