A journey of unawakened power, balance and love lies within. At the time I only had glimpses into my truest potential. Because of Angelica opening certain gates and doors to another side. Who knows why, maybe she saw the indigo in me, the shaman, the angels desperately speaking to me. Now, living in a place that is loud, full of people in a rush. Disconnected from nature, in this 3D dimensional world. I find myself pulling back and pushing further into the unknown as everything changes magnetically. Within some of my visions are three people made out of stars. Now those are just messengers that visit from time to time. Many have been gifted to me on this plane. Mystic, learning, or just grabbing my hand to pull me along with, into every color of this world. Whether it be the boy named after my childhood dog, Milo, my poor little puppy, who was taken from me by my step father surrounded by a muddy murky saddness. This human Milo has gifted me with my first physical tools to speak with the divine in my waking life. Within the first reading, it answered everything so directly it shook my bones. I awake every morning from another dream with many symbols, messages to help me carry into my path as a healer, or, to prepare myself for maybe an even greater undertaking.
Nayes
I began being guided to a special place. As if the ancestors deemed me ready to finally travel to the sacred land. The celestial beings put here to help grow into a heightened self. Living with IAMKiam Studios has helped me tap into my truest potential and revealing incantations to reveal more behind the veil of this worldly plane. Coming to understandings each day. Reaching out my soul to those that want to help it on it's path or those that need help on their path. We learn from one another through our connections. But with time and focus comes better understanding of the vast perceptions. I've always felt connected with my intuition naturally. My mother almost put full trust into the fact. Letting me run wild. As what some say is a faye. I dance in between the dimensions. Always craving a blooming life. But with distractions nearly force fed. We can always lose our way. Being aware of said distractions, or invasive thoughts, is key to moving forward. But without Angelica's guidance before I flew from her new prestigious wings, I may have not been on the rainbow road I ride along today. Every day I realize more, sometimes understanding lessons of the past and the future. All that suffering, was meant for something. Everything is always meant for something. It can rock the thread of many worlds. We must practice precision and embody unity. All my dreams coming into fruitions. Snipping a thread maybe to another me along way or behind or ahead. But with this planet gasping in agony, how can one listen? Now I start an even bigger undertaking. To open the eyes of the hearts I touch. To find the fae that need to reconnect to their roots and the lives that came before theirs. To help them understand how this world has been built on greed and lies. To help them find the sacred land that made me feel complete and at home. That opened the portals to a magical land that I can recharge and let go. We all must reveal the deception so our collective conscience can change the way this world revolves. Or whom it revolves around. That everything conditioning us in the past. Being aware of Gender, consumption, or connection with the divine, our fears, the news we hear, where we put our money and why, learning a new way to "survive" Hopefully to reach more hearts and eyes than ever before. To finally speak in this loud, confusing, revolving world. To get this Earth back on track, to bliss, love and harmony. If you'd like to join me, share knowledge, love and light. Please, reach out. Because we are all connected one way or another. At the given moment I change the perception of owning our bodies, controlling our freedom and gender. Living to your truest self. Fear nothing on this world. For the universe sees all. Reborn Nymphy Marvel. Let us play with our reality.

Vismaya
Vismaya, a young and style savvy fashion photographer of Indian origin, has been roaming around the world for past few years, currently lives in Houston, Texas. She always had artistic inclination since very young age and she always was fascinated by Indian spiritual art specially paintings and statues from ancient Indian culture. The mysticism and romance in those mythological art pieces intrigued her and she often found herself lost in her own imaginary world, a kind of mythical dreamland, where she was like Alice in wonderland, Alice with an old soul, in ancient dream world, surrounded by aesthetics and beauty from another time, another dimension. She used to express her imagination through sketching, and her main theme almost always ended up to be the romantic portraits of Krishna and Radha, and human figures with gods/goddess like attire and vibrations. Born in a family of artists, Vismaya is very close to her father and considers him to be her main influence. She certainly inherited his artistic genes - he used to take artistic self portraits of himself when he was younger! Although she grew up sketching and drawing as a hobby, she realized her love of photography quite late. Her great grades in school lead her to college, where she studied accountancy, and worked as an accountancy manager for four years before following the artistic path that her heart was longed for. Since then she has been into portraits, fashion, beauty, conceptual and fine art photography, most of these manifest into art imagery infused with healing qualities, when Vismaya uses imagination and editing skills on her photographs and then each picture turns into a story in itself . Vismaya is a self taught artist. Her work is influenced by symbolism, romanticism and fantasy. She is inspired by her own subconscious and is fascinated by paintings of old masters, works of surreal artists and movies, other than ancient spiritual art and stories. Her images are often a mix of sensuality, emotion, beauty, drama and surrealism. Each composition is a projection of Vismaya's emotions, dreams and fantasies, which she feels come from divine guidance channeled by her intuition.

Carol Cavalaris I am believer in the power of beauty, nature, and animals to heal our bodies, hearts, and spirits. This is what creating art has done for me during these last 8 years. When my beloved soulmate of 30 years suddenly died, I turned to art to help myself grieve and to heal. I’ve been an artist my entire life, always creating something. My background was in traditional oils and acrylics but I was so devastated after my loss I could not paint at an easel. So I had to re-invent my art, and I tried painting on a computer, creating digital art. I began to lose myself in the beauty of nature and animals, pouring my feelings into every work. After working 24/7 for 3 years, I had amassed such a huge portfolio of art that I decided to contact an agent, and he immediately signed me to a contract and my art is now selling worldwide. I never imaged having a new career after losing my husband but that is what happened and it has been a very welcome and wonderful blessing. I see the uniqueness in every living being as a momentary gift to be treasured. And so it is this need to capture the life force, to enhance and celebrate it, and even give it life long after it has faded, that gives meaning to my work. Many of the animals I paint have a spiritual quality with the power to heal hearts and spirits, if one is open to their message. Creating, learning, and growing artistically have kept the joy alive and it is my passion to bring healing joy and beauty to others. It is so rewarding to have people tell me how my art brings them peace, and inspiration, as this is the reason I create. Recently a woman who lost her husband purchased a painting I did of a lioness tenderly kissing her lion mate on the nose, and she told me the art was her forever kiss to her husband. This really touched me because every year I create a special work to honor the love my husband and I shared, and ‘The Kiss’, was one of those paintings. So the reason I created the art was the reason she purchased it. 18 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016
Painting wildlife and nature, color and detail, are Carol's passions. She really enjoys the freedom of the digital medium as it stimulates her imagination and offers so many exciting possibilities. She explores art programs, like Photoshop, still using brushes to paint, but now the computer screen is her canvas. Some of her art is painted entirely in Photoshop. She also love blending reality and fantasy together and Carol sometimes combine photo sources and painting techniques to create her unique mixed medium images that she calls living art. Her Language of Flowers series was inspired by her fascination with the colors and textures of flowers, and the way they always speak to her heart. Crol's Spirit Of The Wild series was inspired by her love for animals. Many of the creatures in this series are or were at one time among the endangered species. She believes each has something precious and special to give to all of us and each painting is a tribute to these amazing creatures, where She strives to capture their essence. Carol art is in private collections all over the world, and has been published in magazines, book covers, as well as art books. She also exhibit in several Colorado galleries. Her work is also licensed by various companies and selling on products worldwide. She has also a collectible artist with The Bradford Exchange. She has fine art prints available in various sizes and formats, as well as greeting cards. Her gallery, which includes a variety of subjects including wildlife, florals, fantasy, and healing, can be viewed on-line at: http://carol-cavalaris.artistwebsites.com.

WILLINGNESS by TARA-JENELLE WALSCH
17 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016 23 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e July 2016
Opening up to our True Selves with others and to life isn’t always easy, but it can be a more natural part of our experience when we bring forth Willingness.
(physically, emotionally, intellectually) based solely on what we think the outcome may be—all of which is projected from our past experience of the outcomes that similar decisions have created.
Having the desire and the consent of your heart for more connection as you move through life doesn’t guarantee that things will go smoothly, but any choice or action that starts with willingness undeniably has a better chance for success, because it’s born from a place of energetic harmony. It begins by flowing with the current, whereas being unwilling and resistant is starting out against the current.
Each one of us exhibits willingness every day throughout the day, but it shows up differently for everyone because we each have a unique Willingness Meter.
This may have never crossed your mind, but all of the experiences in your life are created from your level of willingness in things, big and small. Everything from getting out of bed in the morning, taking a shower, and eating, to calling about that job in the paper, allowing yourself to fall in love, starting a business, or even simply looking someone in the eyes. Why, then, is it sometimes so hard to be willing? And what causes one person to be “more willing” than another? In most cases, the root of willingness in each of us is driven from our idea about who we are and how we came to be that way. And more often than not, our idea about who we are and how we came to be that way is largely determined by a past experience or behavior that produced either love or pain, reward or punishment. When we’re faced with decisions of any kind (even the decision to be willing), we subconsciously weigh what we’re considering by revisiting previous experiences and learned information, then comparing the probabilities of the same outcome in the current situation. It’s sort of like a personal Willingness Meter that automatically pre-sets our level of willingness around a decision by using our past experiences to determine what we presently consider to be easy or difficult. This idea of a Willingness Meter is not a technique for how to find willingness, but rather, an observation on how most of us habitually gauge what the value of our full and open participation in life will be
24 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016
For someone who is depressed, having the willingness to start the day and get out of bed in the morning can be a big deal, while for others the idea of “willingness” may never even cross their mind as they swing back the covers in the morning. For an elderly person, finding the willingness to exert the energy to shower every day can become more and more difficult, while others don’t give it a second thought as they reach for the faucet. And for an anorexic, having the willingness to let go of the reigns and eat is terrifying, while others wouldn’t hesitate to meander into the kitchen when hungry. It then becomes clear that... All willingness is not created equal. Trying to measure how “willing” it makes sense for us to be in any circumstance or situation is an instinctual part of our behavior. The mind is just doing its job by looking out for what it considers to be our best interests and protecting our wellbeing. The glitch, however, is that if we’re always creating our next decision based on the outcome of a past decision, we’re living with a self-created sense of limitation. I’m not suggesting that we all get our memories zapped, or even that we try to suppress them. I’m simply proposing that we experience and respond to life from the clarity of the present moment. If this is how we openly approached life—with willingness expanded—then there would be little hesitation or resistance; there would simply be this way or that way. Decisions would be made from a place deeper and far more trustworthy than our gut-level reaction to our mind’s memories. Namely, they would be made from our Soul. None of this should be construed to mean that we have to be willing to do almost anything.
There’s no reason to feel locked inside some willingness quotient that may not support your next highest good. This is about simply being open to seeing that all that past determination-gauging stuff doesn’t serve its purpose in keeping us safe and providing us with a general sense of navigation in life, because most of it is simply our story, recycled. When we recognize our story and not define our Selves by it, then we can detach from it, not allowing it to determine our next course of action. We can turn off the personal Willingness Meter within, relating to it as a separate piece of luggage, swinging it off our back and gently placing it on the ground. Then our load is lightened, and willingness is born from a place of freedom and trust in our Soul, not from our past experiences. By nature, our lower thoughts want us to believe that the unknown is something to fear, but the unknown has proven to hold answers and opportunities, time and time again. And willingness is not only a means of finding this opportunity, but is very often the catalyst itself that creates opportunity. When we agree to move forward into the unknown like this, we are demonstrating willingness. This is courage, activated. Suddenly the vast horizon isn’t feared as the unknown, but rather, seen as an enticing destination. A Three-Way Agreement There are two types of Willingness: Instinctual Willingness and Intentional Willingness. Instinctual Willingness stems from the Soul and is rooted with deep-seeded courage. It’s the unexplained knowing, the spontaneous reaction of “Yes.” Intentional Willingness stems from the mind. It’s the mind’s decision to ignore any low reading on our Willingness Meter and do it anyway. Both Instinctual and Intentional Willingness are powered by courage; one is unconscious (that is, from outside the mind; from the Soul directly) and the other is conscious (from inside the mind, having invited the Soul in). Whether it’s instinctual or intentional, having Willingness around something is like your Soul agreeing with your Mind and Body at the same time. Almost
as though all three are energetically in a huddle on the same team, stacking their hands upon one another, then throwing them in the air, saying, “Yes!” in unison. Even if the agreement isn’t quite that enthusiastic, there’s a sense that everyone in your team is onboard with the next move (“Ok, let’s do this! I’ll try. I’m ready.”). And that’s all that willingness takes—for even if you are willing to be willing, you are being willing. We are always in a position to choose one thing or another—one path, one way, one idea, partner, plan, action. We are either doing this or that, being this or that. This is creation, our most joyous gift: the freedom and willingness to choose when and how much of what we would like to experience.

Stones For Chakra Healing Try This New Age Therapy By Ian Pennington
The stones for chakra healing are many, each possessing a power to renew and re-energize. The body has seven chakras running from the base of the spine to the top of the head. Each chakra can be stimulated by subtle energy vibrations present in the stones. When the flow of energy through the body is disrupted the charka become unbalanced. Which stones to use of chakra healing depends on the circumstance of the illness. Beginning with your base chakra you will need red and black stones such as a ruby, obsidian, garnet, hematite or red jasper. These earth bound colors can ease menstrual problems, blood disorders and improve the sex drive. The next chakra represents the sacral and resonates to the colors in orange stones; yellow jasper, carnelian and citrine. Meditation with these stones can increase energy, help with kidney trouble and release hidden inhibitions that may be causing you to feel unbalanced. The stomach chakra is yellow and stones of that hue, agate, light amber, light citrine and even turquoise, because of its yellow veins, can ease digestive problems, liver upsets and muscle cramps. Moving to the fourth chakra, the heart, you will want to invest in green and pink stones. Malachite, rose quartz and adventurine can have a positive influence on anger control, emotional stress and depression. The throat chakra resonates to blue; azurite and lapis lazuli are excellent choices. They not only help heal ear and throat problems they will aid the glands and teeth. Violet colored stones; amethyst, labradorite and fluorite sooth the brow chakra by easing headache pain, improving concentration and addressing mental stability. The last chakra is the crown chakra and like the flow of white light it emits it draws vibrational energy from clear and white stones. Clear quartz, diamonds, white zircon are the best stones for chakra healing in the crown. They encourage communication, boost your self esteem and generally lend a sense of well being. Before using stones for chakra healing you should first place the stone loosely in the palm of your hand and close your eyes. Meditate for a few moments picturing the stone and the chakra you are trying to balance. Lay flat on your back and place the stone over the area of the chakra. You will, in five to ten minutes begin to feel a light vibration. That tells you the stone is working. For an overall balance choose the stones matching the colors of the chakras, lay on your back and place the appropriate stone over the chakra area. Sometimes it is helpful if you have a friend place the stones while you lie in meditation. This process can be repeated on a daily basis but no more than once a day. The energy from the stones need time to access the responding chakra. Stones for healing can be found at specialty stores and online. Wearing jewelry the color of the charka you are healing can also help.

Your Journey to Purpose,
Power, and Wholeness By Rhys Thomas
What if you could buy a ticket to the life you’ve always wanted to live, the one you know you were born to live? Like most people, you’d probably step right up. But the truth is you don’t need a ticket for something that is already within you just waiting to be discovered. What you need is to get clear on what your purpose in life is. Then the road ahead is easy. It spreads out before you, and suddenly you have the energy to accomplish all that you desire. The life you were born to live…. So how do you figure that out? Well, you can’t figure 28 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016
out your purpose. Instead, the path to that deeper self-knowledge is through tuning into and then trusting your feelings, an experience of resonating rather than reasoning. The key is you realizing that who you are is your purpose. You think your purpose is something outside yourself that you will eventually catch up with and then get to live. Sorry, but your purpose isn’t out there. And that’s the good news.
Discovering your purpose is a matter of feeling what it is, not doing what it is. Trying on different careers endlessly, jumping from one job to another, hoping one of them will be “it,” is exhausting and defeating. Or maybe you’ve been stuck in a work situation or relationship that has never been the right one for you, but you tolerate it and suffer silently because it’s what you are “supposed to” be doing. But when you learn to feel your unique calling that has never left you since the day you were born, all that shifts. You have the power to close the gap between what you feel is your purpose and what you actually do in your life to express that purpose. The 5 Soul Qualities From my decades of experience practicing martial arts and energy medicine, as well as studying and applying the work of revolutionary thinkers Alexander Lowen and Wilhelm Reich, I’ve learned that each of us has a unique quality that can be felt energetically, and that quality connects you to your deepest purpose in life. There are five universal human qualities embodied in each of us, visible as distinct physical types and representing unique soul qualities. These five qualities make up five “soul profiles” of people who are born to live a life of creating, feeling, caretaking, leading, or achieving. All five are equally essential in the world, and when you discover which one you are, you will make sense of your life. How you choose to express the qualities unique to each type is yours to discover. Which one do you feel yourself resonating with? Are you a creator, bringing forth the future through you brilliant ideas; or a feeler, tuning into subtle levels of human emotion and love; or a supporter, being the loyal one who holds any system together; or a leader, destined to inspire the masses; or an achiever, responsible for seeing the bigger picture and getting the job done? These are the five kinds of people in the world, and each of us is a combination of the qualities represented. But only one of the qualities describes your primary purpose in life. You will resonate most deeply with one of these— the creator, the feeler, the supporter, the achiever, or the leader—because you were designed to live and feel your best in the energetic field that is characteristic of one of those states. Once you reconnect with this dynamic quality of who you are, and fully embrace it in your life, your purpose is naturally expressed, first in yourself and then in the world.
When you are aligned with your unique soul profile, living on purpose soon becomes second nature. When your purpose is integrated at that deeper level, you can have the life you’ve always wanted, including success in your career, fulfillment in your relationships, and the energy and well-being to fully enjoy your life. You know what to do, and you never have to figure it out. It starts with feeling your purpose from the center of your being and having the courage to express your unique quality. Are you called to create through your ideas, to feel from your heart, to support the team, to lead the masses, to achieve the greatest mission? Only you know why you are here, and that is linked to who you are. The place to look for your purpose is where your purpose has always been—inside you. To know your soul’s purpose is to embark on the journey of a lifetime. Along the way, you will find your unique place in the universe and come to live as a whole person, the person you were born to be.

The Energies are Shifting!
By Joseph Gallenberger, Ph.D.
30 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016
Something unique and powerful is currently affecting psychic functioning. Depending on your location on the planet, psychokinesis, energy healing of self and others, and intuitive abilities may be impacted quite dramatically. Methods that worked powerfully in the past for many talented and dedicated energy practioners may need tweaking right now. People with decades of experience may be a bit dismayed to find that results do not flow in the same way that they "always have." There appears to be an increase of fear in the culture and now substantial changes in the earth's energy fields as the earth rebalances and prepares for an accelerated growth in consciousness. Magnetic fields and energy grids are shifting and traditional places of power may be diminished, while new areas of power are popping up. If you are feeling a bit of a strain in flowing energy and results seem muted, have faith that all is basically well, that you have not lost your gifts, and in fact your gifts have potential to re-emerge even stronger as this shift continues. The best way to thrive is to go back to what you did at the beginning of your opening to energy to revisit and re-strengthen the basics. I am personally committing to more actively nurturing myself, and whatever gifts I might have by meditating more often, taking more time for myself and grounding better than I have been doing within a busy schedule. As I ground fully to the beauty of earth I also connect fully to the highest of spirit. This stronger attention to basics seems to be working well. Another way to increase the flow of energy is to more consciously clear the space before engaging in energy work. One can use incense, smudging, and playing
beautiful music and also call on angelic assistance to clear any negativity in ourselves and the space. Then it is helpful to affirm that highest source help is present for us when we engage in healing through joy and abundance, and to welcome such energies into our sphere. These ways to focus our intention have resulted in a palpable sense of enhanced healing, intuition and manifestation. I know through my heart and experience that love can lift any veil and transcend any limit. Love, compassionately applied to ourselves and all others is indeed the greatest tool for survival and also for thriving. So in these times that call us to fulfill our potential as creative beings, please remember: "Fear is expensive, love is priceless, choose wisely!"

Oftentimes, when we find ourselves discontent with life we look to the outside world in order to find an explanation. We take inventory of our possessions, our relationships, our financial situation, etc. The result of this exploration reveals that it is not something in the external world that causes our grief, but the loss of a feeling of connection and purpose. Connection is inherently at the core of our existence without it there is nothing. Henry David Thoreau once stated, “Most of the luxuries, and many of the so-called comforts of life, are not only indispensable, but positive hindrances to the elevation of mankind." So is it modern materialism that has led us away from human connection? If this is the case, and many claim that it is, we should find that indigenous societies that live simplified lives are happier and more peaceful as they are not distracted by the “so-called comforts of life.” However, when we examine the lifestyle of indigenous people, we come to realize that it is not a lack of materialism that creates a sense of ease, but their ability to live in accordance with nature. They have no guidebook on how to live, no historical or religious texts for them to draw from, no “experts” telling them how to raise their children, no prophets telling them what is moral and immoral, no textbooks instructing them on how to live a healthy life.
A whisper from a place deep inside Lost for millenniums by echoes of intrusion Cast from those who know no thing Blame is not to resolve but a simple silence Will reveal our indigenous self The modern world provides a vast array of technology that enables us to travel with ease, communicate on the go, and live within a short distance from a Walmart. With such conveniences, it seems we should feel a sense of security and comfort, after all, these things were all designed with the intention of making our life easier. Yet we know that today’s society is rife with depression and anxiety. Too many people feel a daily sense of dissatisfaction and disconnection. 32 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016
Most of us have been taught that the more informed we are the better our life will be. If we read all the right books and complete the required assignments we can obtain a better understanding of life and consequently, be better equipped to make decisions that will improve our existence. Yet when we examine the lives of those who have taught us this doctrine we quickly realize that they are no better off than we are. Indigenous people give homage to their natural surroundings every day and in return, they witness an intelligence that governs all of life without any one having to do anything. Food grows from the earth, water flows naturally, the sun sets and rises, and animals reproduce and die. At some level they realize they as well are a part of nature and just like the world around them there is intelligence in every cell of their being. Their heart beats, their lungs allow oxygen in and push out carbon dioxide without them ever knowing the periodic table.
When a culture understands this intelligence and allows nature to do its thing, ease of life is the result. When we allow life we feel a sense of happiness and peace is a natural result. It is not that we do not experience sadness in this state, is that we come to accept the contrast of life. Contrast is a natural occurrence of this physical world experience and the acceptance of contrast us brings us back to a balanced state. This is what the indigenous are here to show us. How much different are we from the indigenous? Can we accept that we are more alike than different? If so, we have a greater chance of understanding our connection to what they possess because we possess the same thing. We do not necessarily need to simplify life, or get rid of material items in order to get here. As we observe from a broader perspective what we call indigenous people we come to realize it is just another concept on how humans live, different but not better. Indigenous is a state of mind more than a culture. Every one of us possesses this inner knowing, at times it is buried deep inside and at times we are floating in a place of weightlessness. This is the very reason we as humans study different cultures. We think that by observing a culture that appears to be happy, and then dissecting what they do, we can follow this process and find happiness for ourselves. We know how well this works. Observation of a content culture lets us know it is possible to live in peace and harmony but does not show us how to get there. How we get there, collectively or individually, is an inside job. As we become more acquainted with our lives become simpler, even if we live in a chaotic metropolis. Think of it this way, the studying of an indigenous culture is metaphor for studying our inner being.

Family Is … by Aura Imbarus, Ph.D.

“Strangers are just family you have yet to come to know.” (Mitch Albom, The 5 People You Meet in Heaven)
Summer vacations are the prefect moments to be shared with family. But, how about if there is no family around? Maybe they passed away; maybe they live in another country or maybe you are not close to them anymore. There are so many broken families nowadays, and the notion of stepparents is as common as “hello.” Children live with one parent while the other one is totally out of the picture. In nowadays’ world where everything is related, we are all one; we are all connected, and so the perception of “family” changes along with us. Family becomes all of us, and giving becomes like inhaling, loving becomes like exhaling, and, as we breath, we reach out to each other. Our friends, the ones who have been there for us in sickness and in health, become our extended family. They are not blood related but they are love related.

Spirit Energies and Ghosts by Barry Eaton
36 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016
Ghost stories have been told for thousands of years in countries and cultures all over the world, and they always find an eager audience. So this means we can accept that people have seen, felt or had interactions with what they term as ghosts over a vast period of time, being recorded in ancient times in Mesopotamia and Egypt. These encounters of course can range from strange noises through to fully fledged apparitions. Ghosts are still to be found haunting old buildings, castles, domestic houses, prisons and just about any place of human habitation you can imagine. There are even many recorded stories of ghosts in the White House in Washington. The 16th US President Abe Lincoln has been seen by several presidents and first ladies and also by prominent visitors to the residence. “Grace Coolidge, wife of President Calvin Coolidge (1923-29), was the first person to say she had actually seen Lincoln’s ghost.According to her, the lanky former president was standing looking out a window of the Oval Office, across the Potomac to the former Civil War battlefields beyond. Lady Bird Johnson, wife of President Lyndon Johnson (1963-69), reportedly felt Lincoln’s presence one night while watching
a television program about his death. During her visit to the White House, Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands heard a knock on her bedroom door in the night; when she answered it, she reportedly saw Lincoln’s ghost, wearing his top hat, and fainted dead away. British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, who visited the White House more than once during World War 11, told a story of emerging naked from his evening bath smoking his customary cigar, only to find a ghostly Lincoln sitting by the fireplace in his room”. There are many explanations for these ghostly visitations, from earthbound spirits afraid to cross over to the afterlife, to residual energy patterns remaining from a very strong individual or group. In my experience there is no one explanation to cover every situation. I have had personal visitations from the afterlife from my mother who was sitting on the end of my bed, as well as my grandfather who in the middle of the night, announced himself with a strong whiff of tobacco smoke from his favourite ‘roll your own’ cigarettes that he smoked all his life. I regularly sense the presence of my late partner Judy, who inspired my first book “Afterlife”, and then as I was researching and writing my latest book “No Goodbyes”.
37 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016
There has also been frequent contact during my research around 3am by spirits who wish to contact me in the stillness of the early morning with an important message. Sometimes it is not easy to get back to sleep after these downloads of information. Over the years I have spoken to many people who have had contact with the spirits of departed loved ones, whether it is just a sense of a spiritual presence or a more direct experience. Sadly they are all too often afraid to speak about their visitations, because they fear being ridiculed. In April this year my partner Anne and I enjoyed a river cruise in Holland, Belgium and northern parts of France, where amongst other places we visited certain World War 1 battlefields. The cruise was run by Captain’s Choice, and included the leadership and expert knowledge of retired Lt. General Ken Gillespie, the former Head of the Australian Army. Ken’s knowledge and overall empathy with the Australian and New Zealand forces who were in France on the Western Front from 1916 – 1918 is awe inspiring. We fully expected his expert analysis of several key battles in areas we visited, but in a talk one night he surprised everyone when he concluded his presentation with a special tribute to the “ANZAC Spirit”. The ANZAC legend started at Gallipoli in 1915 when the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) suffered great losses against the Turks before then being shipped to France in 1916 to help fight the Germans in bloody trench warfare. Approximately 80,000 Australians and New Zealanders perished in the war, and many war cemeteries in France and Belgium bear grim testimony to this with their rows and rows of stark white crosses. From this bloody carnage the legend of the Anzac Spirit emerged. However Ken Gillespie took this Spirit of the Anzacs to a whole new level as he told us about the spirit energies he senses every time he visits these battle sites and war graves. I interviewed Ken for my radio program on RadioOutThere.com and his very sensitive description of his feelings left me in no doubt he does connect with the spirits of these deceased soldiers and airmen. He
38 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016
told me that he is certain their spirits appreciate the recognition that we give them when we visit these cemeteries. His quiet, sincere words left me in no doubt that Ken is a very spiritual man who, unlike many generals during that ghastly war, is able to recognise that soldiers are people and not just cannon fodder and pawns in a chess game. He accepts that life does continue after the body perishes and that the power of the spirit world is open to anyone who chooses, or cares to open their minds and most importantly, their hearts. If a famous army general can accept and understand the bonds between us and the world of spirit, I have to wonder why there are still so many skeptics still sneering about life after death. Perhaps they are so disillusioned about the lives they are living they will be quite happy to sink into oblivion when it is all over for them. They don’t frustrate me with their cynicism, I feel sorry for them.

CONNECTION EXPANSION… THE TWINS WHEN I THINK POSITIVE I AM GOOD…REALLY??? DEFINING BALANCE IN OUR LIVES I love that solitary moment when I step out under the open sky and feel the sun’s kiss caressing, its pure warmth slowly enveloping my skin. Even after all these years it still takes me deep into that exact same happy place. It has forever brought to mind the love and joy I feel for this earth, for nature and its creator in all their glories. Why do I, like you, have this simple-thing that turns it on for us year after year after year? How does this happen, simple answer we are walking beings functioning from a set of repeated patterns, cycles, habits? Call em what you will, makes no difference.
ment head received an opportunity, stepped back, and another department head picked it up (I love it when true leaders show their worth), she walked away with the prize, YES!
Let’s take a peek at the relationship with mindset and behaviors. The discovery is out of the bag, they both trigger one another, good and bad! Question is which part do we play in this dance of repetition? We all know and hope it’s free will, consciousness we have some level of control over.
A positive mindset communicates we have stepped out of the box, the box of balance and measures. Balance is the function of repetitious actions Measures are the constant repeating results.
Today we will take a shallow dive into possibility and probability. In reality possibility is never going to happen, it leaves us hanging in gunna-land standing at the bus stop waiting for the good fairy! Whereas probability is already on its way, all you have to do is know when to put on the baseball mitt step up and catch your opportunity. There isn’t a person reading this that doesn’t already know this. So where’s the challenge? Every time probability comes around 99% of us step back. I run leadership programs and today a depart-
Now when it comes to Defining Balance, every single person on this planet today functions in a state of permanent balance 24/7!!! Explain why this is so. Every action forward and backward has been rehearsed and practiced so many times we think our free will mindset is running the show. And the creator is still rolling around the floor hysterical!
Let’s talk about the two topics we absolutely love but we can never talk about, the creator and sex! In a family the creators mum and dad create a family of brothers and sisters, which we now know by blood. The big Creator, who created all that is, you and I, trees and animals, the sun and moon, it’s a very big list. If the creator created all that is, then you and I are brothers and sisters. Why, we don’t know what we know, when in fact we do. As brothers and sisters we may not be bound by physical blood, but you and I are bound by Universal Blood, we humans call it ENERGY.

There are miracles everywhere in the universe, but us, you and I are the greatest, if we can ever get over ourselves. However, it just might be we have finally reached that moment in time when we can take off the diaper and begin to release our true essence. The big question is how do we change from that which already existsssssss! The positive movement has had us in a twist these past 50 to 60 years. We are told by geniuses you can think your way out of the box, create the perfect lifestyle, attract abundance, your mindset will show you the way. Some have already escaped. If we ask how they managed to escape the answers would resemble unsure, good timing, first to arrive at a different corner of the box, who cares, for change to occur it’s what we do today that’s important. If we supposedly leave the box where do we go? Can there be another box? Absolutely! In Greek mythology there is this tale concerning the gift from Zeus to Pandora, called “Pandora’s Box”. Is this just a fable, does it have value or meaning, or is it simply another old wives tale? I think not. Nothing in this world is without meaning, and while on the subject, this also includes YOU, no matter what you may think! As the story goes the box contained all the bad in life, but when she looked closer it also contained HOPE. What if, we are “Pandora’s Box”? The bad being nothing more than not fully knowing our true essence, our full potential. Deep within Pandora’s Box was hiding our faith in self, from darkness is born light giving us the ability to overcome the endless cycles of repetition. Oh yeah baby!!!When we become aware of divine opportunity, when we summon up, no to repetition and place our hand in the box of faith and hope, we stand face head on to every challenge and WE CHANGE, we evolve beyond the confines of mindset and we are set free once again! If we are not following our mindset, if thinking is not the answer, then what is? Last week I performed a simple muscle test in front of 40 plus people. I tested my wife as strong. I then asked the group to think negative towards her, the test was weak, again I asked them to think negative towards her and the test was strong, WHY? There are things in us greater than thoughts/mindset. We need to wake up to this fact if we ever wish to move on. The truth is there are 7 elements, not 5 on the planet. We are made up of 6 of these and each element is greater than any 40 plus negative thoughts directed at us. As humans we are the 7th element and we have 42 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016
the ability to converse with the other 6 elements. They are our 5 instincts plus our ability to hear the messages when our intuition speaks. We are traveling through this great universe to experience and were never meant to be at its helm. It’s true you can think your way into a successful life. What I would like you to contemplate is how far short is that success; compared to the one you have no knowledge of whatsoever??? As individuals we stand at the threshold of not a dream, not a desire, but a level of self-connectedness that mindset and words cannot convey. For this feeling, this personal joy, this emotion is so consuming you cannot think. I have heard persons speak and write of unconditional love, but the only time I have witnessed anything close was in the movie “Lucy”. In the beginning she is involved in the control of everything. At the end everyone was left to their own responsibilities, for her, there was only one path, no interference and to give only of the self. When the goody-two-shoes come, I yell at them or run the other way. We don’t have time for that stuff anymore. Blessings to each of you, michael

When You Don’t Know What to Do Next, Finish Something by Joel Fotinos, author of My Life Contract
Do ever feel stuck or unsure what to do next? All of us have felt that feeling, of not being sure what to do next. Whether it is feeling unsure what to do next for the day, or what to do next in life, confusion about “next steps” can leave us feeling stagnant, confused, frustrated, or even depressed. I’ve found that when I’m not sure what to do next in life or when I am feeling “stuck,” the most helpful thing for me to do is to simply do what is in front of me. Finish something. Complete a project or task or to-do list of items. (This works on two levels — the short-term items and projects that I need to do, and also the long-term goals I have for my life.) Here are the 3 steps I take for the short-term items to get un-stuck… STEP 1 – LIST: I take my notebook and begin to make a list of everything that is “undone” in my life. This includes any projects I’m currently working on that are unfinished, as well as items such as cleaning out that closet, making any healthcare appointments (dentist, yearly physical, etc.), paying bills, and anything else that comes to mind. I don’t spend more than 5 or so minutes compiling this list — I don’t want to make the list so long that I’ll get discouraged, but 5 minutes is long enough to get most of the important items. You can always add to the list later, if other unfinished items pop up in your mind.
45 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016
STEP 2 – PRIORITIZE: Then, I prioritize the list this way — at #1 I write down the thing on my list that I least want to do at that moment, at #2 I write the next least thing I want to do, and so on. STEP 3 – ACT: I take action on the first item immediately. Here’s a helpful hint: since I start with the thing I least want to do, I usually give myself a time limit so I don’t feel overwhelmed. For instance, I’ll look at the first item on my list, and then think, “I’ll spend 30 minutes on this and stop whether I’m done or not.” Often when I commit to 30 focused minutes, it is enough time to accomplish the task or at least get a good bit done on it. And most of the time, if I don’t finish the task by the end of the 30 minutes, I just keep on going until I’m done. I’ve also used 15 minutes, or even 5 minutes as my time limit, depending on the task. Using these simple techniques creates momentum. Momentum occurs when we take action — and that momentum can carry us forward. When I finish item #1, I’m usually so relieved and energized that I dive into item #2. When I finish item #2, I go as quickly as possible to item #3. Taking action, then, becomes a chain reaction that enlarges my life and helps me to achieve any goals that I have.
forward momentum. One of my life mottos is “energy follows action.” This means that rather than wait for the moment that I feel like doing something I know I should be doing, I instead decide to take action on it, and create that positive feeling by doing it. Don’t wait for good outcomes before taking action; take action to create good outcomes. 4. Taking positive actions is a form of positive self-care. Taking positive actions creates flow and joy and success in our lives. Avoiding actions or leaving goals unfinished keeps us stuck and stagnant and small. 5. There are times when the positive action I most need to take is to relax and “be” rather than “do.” As the saying goes, we are human beings, not human doings. While we do need to take positive actions toward our goals every day, we also need to create balance by also relaxing and playing. If you are feeling stuck or unsure, allow yourself the gift of taking yourself and your life seriously enough to take at least one positive action today. Commit to just 30 minutes today finishing up a project, and have fun while doing it. Play your favorite music while doing it, or give yourself a reward when you finish, or call a friend to come and help. Do whatever it takes today to move forward. You’ll be glad you did!
Here are five things that I’ve noticed when I take action: 1. When I’m being honest about it, procrastination actually takes more energy than just getting things done. Avoiding things takes a lot of time and energy, and in the end wastes time and energy. Just as it would be silly for a flower to try to procrastinate it’s growth and avoid blooming, it’s just as unthinkable that we humans would try to procrastinate our own growth and avoid living our life as fully and joyfully as possible. 2. Sometimes I’ll start a new project because I’m inspired, but there are also times I’ll start a new project to avoid something I need to get done. For example, when I want to avoid finishing something, sometimes cleaning the kitchen suddenly seems like the most appealing and important thing I can do. When I reflect on it, I realize that cleaning the kitchen (or whatever it is) was just a way to avoid to working on my unfinished projects or goals. 3. Taking positive action creates positive energy and 46 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016

Endings &Beginnings by Roxana Jones
48 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016
There are so many of us struggling with challenging situations at this point in human history where our planet transforms in so many different and simultaneous levels, that I have been asked by my spiritual guides to expand more on the following message of hope: Endings and Beginnings “Your dream is on the making, my dear. It is a beautiful creation that of yours. Don’t despair, the end is almost here, it will come as the most amazing beginning. You have earned it and we are proud of you…”
http://roxanajones.com/ https://healthruwords.com
More recently, the message continued on with the following additional text: “It is because we love you so deeply that we transmit this message through our human scribe. We will start sharing now and then some of her human experiences as we believe this is a powerful way for you to understand us. The quote above was a message we sent Roxana a few years ago. She didn’t believed at that time that what she was seeing as an ending was nothing more that the most miraculous beginning. If you would ask her now, she could only tell you all the blessings her endings – yes, the many she has dared to live – have brought her. It is these same miracles that we want you to experience, every day for the rest of your life. From now on, see the good in all the bad and believe with all of your heart that nothing in this world ends without the most perfect reason: the reason that will bring you what you need as your next step to becoming the greatest version of you, beautiful you.” From my collection of HEALTHRUWORDS QUOTES. My guides are more than right when they state in this passage that the first time I heard these words I did not believe in them. You see, I used to be a very incredulous person due to the negative selftalk my ego mind was constantly bombarding me with. During those times, the words heart, awareness, mindfulness, empowerment, awakening or enlightenment, were all part of a language I still did not manage too well. They were alien concepts that seemed far-fetched according to my rational and scientific mind standards. I was living a life completely ruled by the beliefs I had acquired from my family, education and society in general.

Without being truly prepared for it, my darkest night of the soul began with my divorce in the year 2000. Little did I know that it would not only be the darkest but also the longest night of my life as it lasted exactly nine years. You read well, nine years was what it took me to realize the “ending” I was experiencing was nothing more than the most amazing beginning life could ever offer me. Because of the way we have been conditioned, we humans think that what we are supposed to do in this lifetime is to continue recreating more of what we have been taught since childhood. We insist on keeping our past, without considering if our old beliefs can or will serve us for the life we continue to dream and envision – the same that still has not come. During those dark nine years of mine, I understood everything that family, school, university and society in general had not been able to explain to me so far. The following are three key points that describe what I was able to acquire from those very difficult but valuable times: 1. Create it, don’t face it. The first thing I understood was that up until then I had been FACING life when in fact, what I had come to do on this Earth was to CREATE life. This revelation was huge to me. To see myself as a creator that could make all things new and not as a victim that was merely trying to adapt to what life was bringing me, was the truth that allowed me to begin practicing the second thing I understood. 2. Unlearn your crawling, to learn your flying. We all know how the caterpillar becomes a butterfly but more often than not we forget that in order for it to become a butterfly, the caterpillar UNLEARNS its crawling skills to then LEARN its new flying skills. Why continue to know how to crawl when all that it will need to know is how to fly? We don’t see butterflies with caterpillar legs, do we? When I left all my past behind – forgiving it and forgetting all the caterpillars I believed had wronged me and which were not wishing to become butterflies just like I did – I was ready to understand one last thing. 3. In life there is no such thing as an ending. Nothing in this universe ends because everything is in 50 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016
constant movement, nothing stays the same and nothing is static. So seeing the end of a relationship, circumstance or situation, is not a fact but only a perception, usually a painful one. It took many years of practice but once I was able to focus only on beginnings, on the constant birthing of my present and not on the dying spiritless past, everything in my life began to change in the most miraculous way. My dark night of the soul ended exactly nine years after, once I was ready to PERCEIVE it differently. I now wake up every morning looking in awe at the freshness life offers me constantly. I go to bed at night overjoyed because to me, it is not that the day has ended but only that the most beautiful night has arrived to lull me and assure me everything continues to be right. I’ll be happy to answer any question or comment you might have about what you just read. By sharing this article, my intention is to connect with those who are open to the endless possibilities life offers when we are willing to embrace change. Until next time and don’t forget to be love,

TRUST AND SMILE by Annie Sims
52 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016
Do you have a big dream that you have yet to fully realize? I keep two engraved rocks in our car, right in front where I can see them every time I go somewhere. One says TRUST and the other says SMILE. As my husband Greg and I have spent the past 2 1/2 years reinventing ourselves on the West Coast, a ton of TRUST has been called for, to remember that everything is unfolding perfectly for our highest good. And sometimes it helps during the hard times to just SMILE, simply because it makes us feel better! You see, my husband’s lifelong dream has been to be a major film and television composer. He had been trying, with limited success, to achieve this while living in Nashville. In June of 2014, we happened to be with our spiritual mentor, Neale Donald Walsch, one evening when he asked Greg, “So what’s going on with you guys?” Greg answered, “I keep getting ‘Santa Monica, Santa Monica…’” What Neale realized that we didn’t, was that these were messages from the Universe to move there. Without missing a beat, he said, “Well, you’ve gotta go! Give it a year. Don’t sell your house.” In that moment we knew everything had changed. Wow! The thought of it practically lit us both up on the inside, but with mixed emotions. Kinda scary? You bet. Kinda thrilling? Oh, yeah! We immediately started looking at how we might make it happen, and the dominoes began falling into place, one by one. I have a theory that you know you’re on your “right” path when things happen that pave the way without a lot of obstacles. Now, this isn’t to say it was easy, because leaving behind my beloved family, friends, home, musical and spiritual community in Nashville was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I would break into tears whenever I’d as much as think about it. Somehow, though, I’d instantly known when Neale advised Greg to go, that I was supposed to go too, but I didn’t know why. I knew it couldn’t be just because Greg is my husband, best friend and soul partner. As deeply devoted to him as I am, I needed clarity about what was in it for me, so I did a lot of meditating about it. I received messages such as, “This move isn’t just for Greg. It’s for you too,” and “Do you want to play big? Move to LA. Do you want to play small? Stay in Nashville.” Well, that was enough for me, so off we went! And here we are, 2 1/2 years later. As patience isn’t my strong suit, there have been many times along the way that those two little rocks have reminded me to TRUST
and SMILE— to know that everything must be happening in Divine right order… or it wouldn’t be happening. It’s been a thrilling experience, stepping out on faith, and continues to be so. It’s funny—in hindsight, I’m glad I didn’t really stop to think how long it would take Greg’s dream to manifest. If I had, and if I’d given too much concern to how we would pay the bills in the meantime, I might have chickened out! But thanks to my “meditation messages” and the countless signs that have shown us we’re on the right path, I trusted that it would. And it is! Greg was recently invited to sign with a new composer agency, headed by two of the most well-connected film and TV music guys in the biz. It looks like this is the big break we moved here for. I think by the end of our 3rd year, everything is going to look a whole lot different. There is great power in 3s and that number is very symbolic for both of us. We see it everywhere, usually as 333 or even 3333. These miracle messages have helped us continue to TRUST and SMILE. It’s only apropos that our 3rd year here would be when it all comes together. As we musicians are wont to say, pun intended, “Stay tuned…”

Stop Wrinkles and Look Younger by Eating Healthier Foods by Amanda J. Lawson
Did you know that you can slow down the aging process of your skin just by eating healthier foods? We all know that healthier foods boost your immune system to help you fight off infections. Eating healthier also energizes you and makes you feel younger and stronger. Now you can add another positive reason for eating healthier, your skin. Foods that are healthy for you keep your skin beautiful because of the natural ingredients. No chemicals! Do you remember when you were younger and your parents always told you to eat your green vegetables so that you would grow up "big and strong"? Well they were right but now you need to eat healthy foods to keep you looking young and healthy. The same green vegetables like spinach, broccoli, kale and collard greens that made you "big and strong" have all the ingredients to clear your complexion, fight off wrinkles, and give you that younger look that you know you want. The special ingredient that nourishes your skin is the high antioxidants that green leafy vegetables have. Antioxidants go after the main cause of aging which is free radical damage and fights it off. Other healthy foods that prevent wrinkles are those high in omega 3 fatty acids, like salmon and tuna. Omega 3 fatty acids are a vital ingredient for having radiant skin and beautiful healthy looking hair. Once you get to that age where your body slows down and your face begins to expose the fact that you aren't in your twenties anymore, everyone wants to run to 54 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016
the nearest pharmacy to purchase anti-aging cream. Although a good anti-aging cream will dramatically help your age fighting adventure, a healthy diet should also be a main defence. A lot of anti-aging creams are full of chemicals so when you take the anti-aging cream route, remember to make sure the cream is made with natural ingredients that are safe enough to be absorbed through the skin. Unlike the creams made from chemicals, natural ingredients are actually good for your body and won't make you feel like a chemical waste plant. Find an anti-aging cream that has shown results in clinical trials with human volunteers. You need it to have the two most important skin proteins to speed up your body's re-growth of collagen and elastin like the skin care products called Cynergy TK and Phytessence wakame. Phytessence wakame is believed to be one of the best foods to help prevent wrinkles in Japan. Now scientists has taken it a step further by discovering that by using concentrated extracts of phytessence wakame in anti aging creams, they can dramatically reduce the age spots and wrinkling that we are all trying to fight. Greetings, My Beloved Children of Heart, “As we share these moments in time, as we experience these moments of change together, though we are individuals, we are experiencing these same moments, all at the same time. How does this make you feel, knowing that each person, each animal, each plant, each rock and tree is experiencing living and being, within these same moments? Is it not a wonder to behold! As you hear these words spoken to your minds and hearts, you are beginning to realize the greater vision of what each moment brings to you. Imagine with each one experiencing in their own way each moment, together with all others, what this offers to you. Sharing in the life experience, knowing this truth of what is occurring will assist you to make the greater connections of remembering the truth of our divine nature,
A DAY TO REMEMBER by Jan Diana
Message from the Goddess Mother
The divine is never separated from itself. We are always in the same moments of time, breathing, living, thinking, and acting. Being, living and experiencing life in our own personal ways, yet all within the one journey of the moments of time. Pondering upon these truths will help you to realize the connection we have with one another. Today is a day to remember, for as you read these words I offer you a gift, a message from my heart to yours. This gift will allow you to see more easily the bigger picture of life and its grand purpose. You will begin to notice your heart guiding you into this greater awareness of the joys of life and what wonders are awaiting your discovery! To receive this gift I offer you My Beloveds just close your eyes and imagine before you a golden orb. It is an offering of love and will not create any imbalance, only bring you blessings of joy and peace. If you chose the orb, just say to yourself, yes, I desire this gift of love, and it will flow to you. Take a deep breath and relax, and open your heart to receive. Today and all days that come will be blessed with a greater awareness, a clearer vision as your gift opens up your heart and mind to receive what is being offered to you always. Now, with this greater awareness, what is possible?
59 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016
Ponder on this. If we are all experiencing these moments together, what would happen if I choose my focus to be on what brings me joy? If I love spending time with my pets as it makes me happy, my moments are filled with happy thoughts. What does this offer to everyone and everything which are experiencing the same moments? It adds more of the flavor of joy into your life experience and into the life experiences of everyone and everything. It is there for them to choose to feel it as they desire, but it is there never the less as a reality. Everyone and everything feel the rippling of your happy thoughts in the moment, because of our connections we have in the sharing of moments. With a simple shift of focused intention of choosing to experience more joyful moments, you add to the flavor of your life, bringing you greater elevations of mind and heart. This also adds the same flavor to everyone and everything which are also living in the same moments. Now the thought can be, “how can I flavor my life with more joy and also add to the joy of others through my loving choices?” This now becomes a recognition of how your life choices affect not only your life experiences, but how it can affect those of all others as well. What an incredible opportunity to shift into a life filled with all the peace, joy and an abundance of all that you desire, simply by the focus in the thoughts you choose. Change a thought, change the recipe, change your life, and change the world. Perhaps you were not fully aware of the great gift that has been given to you and to all to create your reality. You have been given the birthright to be cocreators of your life experience. Now, with a greater understanding of this sacred birthright, you can simply make choices which support the desires of your heart, empowering yourself and watch the magic unfold. What would you really like to experience? How can I help my family and friends to experience more joy? In what ways may I assist in the world becoming the New World, where peace and joy are what we all experience, and there is plenty for all?
60 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016
It all begins with the focused intention of the thoughts you choose for yourself and hold into being. This than changes your flavor and the flavor of your life reality, and adds to the recipe for all experiencing living in the same moments. What a gift and blessing to know that with your personal choices to love yourself, to be in joy, to choose thoughts of abundance and plenty, you are also helping your family, your friends and the world. You are My Children of Heart, each with unlimited potential. You can live your life of infinite possibilities and experience all that your heart desires. You can reach the dreams of heart that you have and that all have. The time of plenty and more is at hand, it is only for you to choose. Take pleasure in creating your dreams and know the joy of living them. This truly is a day to remember.”

Birthdays remind us of new beginnings, our focus in life and our ultimate calling and invocation to fulfill our purpose. Blessings received are blessings bountiful to be shared and I am pleased to share my birthday celebration and exciting new business ventures--my "Third Phoenix Rising", with my friends, collaborators and colleagues. William Barclay once said: There are two great days in a person's life - the day we are born and the day we discover why. I am truly humbled to share my selfdiscovery with all--that my joyful purpose in life is to create Beauty, my doorway into the Divine. The privilege of being a born artist and to be able to express and tobring full manifestation to that sacred gift is the privilege of a lifetime. Thank you all, for being my esteemed guests--I am very honored to spend my birthday with you. ~ SUE WONG
SUE WONG: FROM MAO TO TAO A long time ago, seemingly in another lifetime, I was born into humble circumstances in a remote rural countryside in Southern China. At the age of five, I was spirited away from Maoist China by the courageous leap of my mother, who risked all to be reunited with my father--the one love of her life. She courageously bribed a border guard with her wedding jewelry sewn into a small pillow, who released us to our freedom in British Hong Kong... I originated from the Taishan region near Guangzhou, the land of my ancestry. The Taishan region of southern China where my parents and I came from produced the first Chinese settlers in America. My own great, great Grandfather worked on the railroads near Sacramento in the 1800's and directly contributed to the building of America, the Great. This resonates profoundly with my parent's immigrant's story of sacrifice and determination--the migration to America being the very core focus for opportunities and economic success that were promised on Gold Mountain.
In the course of my long career, I have had great surges and rises, as well as plummets all the way down into the abyss of failure. However, I believe conflict and adversity are blessings in disguise. I don’t ever regress in the face of adversity and am philosophical in my view of life--I believe in a strong sense of Destiny. There is a divine purpose in everything that comes our way, and adversity, pain, and loss are all a part of our overall journey and part of the human experience which forges our destiny. Life lessons will come at you constantly. The test is how you deal with the slings and arrows that life points at you. There is no such thing as a negative experience; rather, it’s about perceiving lessons as blessings in disguise. I lost everything that I built twice--and twice I rebuilt it and grew stronger than ever before. If there is a fire and I am the equivalent of a moth, then I plunge myself into the fire knowingly--even if it means I have to crash and burn, so that ultimately I resurrect myself into the Phoenix that I am truly meant to be--rising from the embers and the ashes--to soar the heavens ever higher.
65 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016
I was born an artist, and merely use Fashion as my creative medium for my creative and artistic modality of expression. One does not simply 'become' or learn to be an artist--one is born that way! You can learn to be technically proficient or competent, but it will not qualify you as a artist.. Creativity is something that emanates deeply from within the soul--and all creations are mirrors of the Soul. Being an artist means that one is born with a different perception regarding the world. One's psychic sense and one's awareness of the world is more keen and acute--Artists are more sensitive and are more directly connected to feeling. Therefore, Creativity is highly psychic, intuitive and visionary, and requires much tuning into the etheric realms. It is not solid matter; it is drawn from spirit essences. As a Creative Intuitive, I apply my artistic sensibilities to everything that I do, therefore optimizing the higher gifts that I was blessed with--whether it be interior, furniture or garden design, architecture, graphics design, painting, drawing, writing, cooking, Ikebana, throwing a stylish soirée, art-directing a photoshoot or creating an experiential fashion show. It's all creative energy to me, and all Creativity comes from a Divine Source. My biggest blessing was to have been born an artist and I feel so very honored to have had the privilege to share my art and creativity with the world. The ability to being able to give creative expression to my Art is the privilege of a lifetime. I believe that everything in life happens for a higher reason towards the growth and evolution of our souls. Everyone whom I meet along my spiritual path is a karmic reunion. There are no accidents in life--we create and manifest the reality that we live. I have immersed myself in Jungian teachings and practice for the past 15 years. Sub-texts expose incredible confessions and teachings about the Human Condition, as well as about ourselves. I strongly believe that
all your houses need to be in alignment and be in balance. You can’t be all play and no work…or no work and all play. You have to be a balanced person to make it all work. I implement and focus on my masculine side at work. In business, I implement the take-no-prisoners approach. There is no time for lack of focus, nor lack of commitment. By comparison and juxtaposition, my feminine side (compassion, love and understanding) runs my personal and creative life. I have the very best of both worlds and constantly strive to keep the balance. Fashion is the fastest moving of all the art forms. It occurs less than every two and a half months, as we have five Seasons a year to deal with and therefore to create. The velocity and speed with which we move is staggering. Architecture moves every decade: the tempo for interior design is every three to five years; music moves and changes every six months. In fashion, there are always new kinds of movements going on, and these movements occur every two months. It is visually exciting and inspiring work, and challenges me to be at my most productive and prolific. I have an enormous creative fire, and I live to create. Fashion stokes and fuels that much of that creative fire, as my creative output is a total of more than 1500 designs a year. I founded my current SUE WONG Evening Collection quite serendipitously five months before the new Millennium in 1999. I designed 25 evening gowns which I managed to market and shipped two months before the dawn of the new Millennium. My designs flew out of the stores like hot cakes, and voila! --a new business was born! Up to that point, I had never designed evening wear before; however, I taught myself how to become a designer of evening wear using couture touches and embellishment within one season. It was an instant, runaway success, and that is the business that I have today.

Fashion should be creative and fun--an individual mode of creative, personal expression. I admire someone who puts themselves together in a highly eclectic, individualistic manner as to be a unique work of temporal art. I admire the REAL designers who have a strong sense of signature and style. Fashion to me should be more about individual style as opposed to following the evanescent dictates of any trend. I’m never linear in my creative process. The creative process itself is a powerful experience, pulling from my references and inspiration within subterranean sub-texts and this circles back to my passion with Jungian teachings. I invest in all my gowns a Transformational experience made possible through the juxtaposition of Vintage and Modern--Yesterday meets Today to deliver wisdom and teachings. I’ve created a very unique, individual SUE WONG look, inspired by Hollywood's Golden era. I don’t merely design clothes. I design transformative gowns of empowerment. I believe that when a woman puts on a SUE WONG, she is transformed into an emissary of Beauty and becomes connected with the Goddess Divine that resides within her. I invest my mantra of BEAUTY ~ MAGIC ~ TRANSFORMATION into each and every gown I create. I create couture gowns with impeccable workmanship available at accessible Pret-aPorter prices-- and I consider myself to be the Everywoman’s couturier. The SUE WONG look exemplifies glamour, beauty, romance, style, femininity, and is a homage to the Eternal Goddess that resides in every woman. My mantra is : Beauty. Magic. Transformation. For the rest of it, I will refer you to a paragraph from my bio: "With each new collection, Sue Wong never fails to astonish, employing the revered age-old couture techniques implemented by the finest Couture houses
in Europe, and evoking the allure and glamour of various eras such as Weimar Berlin, 1930s Shanghai, Precode Hollywood and Manhattan's gilded Jazz Age. While often adopting vintage style, every design belongs in the now and is decidedly very SUE WONG; exquisite fabrics shimmering with incandescent beads, unique embroideries and layered textures embellished with passementerie and soutache combine to create works of art that are graceful, elegant, unique and timelessly beautiful." I never compare myself to anyone else. Each and every one of us has his/her journey. I have created my very own unique look and voice. People constantly ask me who/ which designer I follow or draw inspiration from and to be honest, I don’t follow anyone. My look is incomparable and indigenous to my own personal aesthetics because it uniquely belongs to me---my very own design philosophy mixed in with my own visual sensibilities, steeped in the mythology of the Goddess. It flows out of the ether and organically comes together in astonishing, unexpected acts of creation, which even often surprises me... It is as though sometimes I channel the information given to me from a higher source; or that I am a conduit for higher creativity to flow through me. Good design and good Art always has great intelligence behind it. The higher the degree and level of the art/design, the higher the level, energy and intelligence that informs it. The creativity never leaves me, and it is a veritable fountain from which flows a constant stream of new ideas. I am truly prolifically blessed, as I've always had a huge energy, which has only collected force and momentum as time goes by. The well always overfloweths --To be a productive, inspired artist is truly the most precious gift that the universe can bless upon anyone. For all aspiring Fashion Designers, this is my advice: Be prepared to work hard. Those who are afraid to work should go and seek other more safe 9 to 5 work. I always tell my assistants that this is not a typical eight hour work day job. The business of fashion is in fact a lot of busy work. It is creative, it is fun, but 90% of the time, it is non-glamorous. As in any art, one must be prepared to sacrifice and give of oneself at the altar of their Art...It is one hundred percent commitment, dedication and requires singular ambition, focus and the discipline to follow through. Of course, the talent must overwhelmingly be there. Many people want to be designers, or want to be one, but the majority will either fall out because either the talent is not there; or else the ability to be disciplined or to be fully present for the task at hand will weed them out. Only the best, most dedicated and the most focused will survive and make it. ~ SUE WONG

I offer the following advice for all budding designers and for all those who dare to dream: Have a vision! Hold that vision! Be true to that vision! BECOME that vision! If I were to write my autobiography, I think the appropriate title would be: FROM MAO TO TAO--which speaks of my physical as well as my spiritual journey. I have had such a powerful, magnificent journey thus so far, full of meaning from the richness that life has offered me, including all the peaks and valleys. The intensity of my experiences often feels as though I have lived three lifetimes in one. The longer that I live, the more I realize that everything and everyone is cosmically inter-connected. I was brought up in the way of the Tao. However, I see myself as being beyond borders, beyond culture, beyond religion, beyond any given categorization. I align myself and practice spirituality in a universal, non-denominational manner. In some ways I have reverted back to my roots, as now I have such a bigger understanding of The Tao, and all the codes of honor, integrity and ethics that my parents taught me. Perhaps this age-old wisdom from the East is part of the legacy and indelible memory that serves as a gift for the Art of Living from my ancient ancestors. As I enter into Chapter Three of my life, I stand at the threshold of the most pivotal segment of all. The Phoenix 68 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e August 2016
rises for the Third time as I morph into my THIRD reinvention. It is the beginning of the most productive and creative period of my life. I now stand as a well-seasoned, mature artist, and can use the sum total of my many creative brains culled from a lifetime of collective creative experiences to build a SUE WONG global licensing empire in Fashion, Home, Architecture and Lifestyle. I am of the Nietzsche school that whatever does not kill us will make us that much stronger. My dreams keep me ageless and connect me to the living pulse of the Universe-- and to the eternal Divine Energy that informs and creates all life. I am in gratitude and deep appreciation for the life that I have been given-- it has been a wondrous, magical journey. I would not have traded my life for any other. The essence of my message is to simply embrace life with full fervor and passion. Embrace your inner voice and live your quantum potential and heed your inner calling. As one of my favorite teachers, Joseph Campbell taught: FOLLOW YOUR BLISS!
