The Sphinx by Rico Paganini
Part one
10 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ October 2014
The Sphinx and Its Meaning time of Cheops and his predecessors” On the eastern side of the Giza Plateau (Schwaller de Lubicz 1982, 97). there was originally a rock cliff 10 meters high. From it was carved a lion figure with a human head: the Sphinx [Fig. 2.1]. It measures a total of 62 meters long; the front paws alone are 15 meters long and the head is 20 meters tall. To form the body, a trench was cut out of the surrounding rock measuring 6.7 meters deep and 5.5 meters wide. After the discovery of the Sphinx and the Valley Temple, it became clear that the limestone blocks of these structures all came from the Sphinx The weathered face of the Sphinx trench, as did those used to build the mortuary temple in front of the Pyramid of Chephren. Offered as further proof of Chephren as the Sphinx builder, Dr. Zahi Hawass and The building of the Sphinx is traditionally Professor Mark Lehner asserted in April attributed to Chephren. The proof offered 1991 that the face of the Sphinx depicts for this is based on the diorite statue of Chephren himself in the article “Computer a seated Chephren found in the Valley Rebuilds the Ancient Sphinx” published Temple. report: “After reviewing my various drawings, schematics and measurements, my final conclusion concurs with my initial reaction, i.e. that the two works represent two separate individuals. The proportions in the frontal view, and especially the angles and facial protrusion in the lateral views convinced me that the Sphinx is not Khafre . . .” (Bauval and Hancock1996, 9). In all probability, the present Sphinx head is not the original, because it is proportionally far too small in relation to the body. The other Giza structures demonstrate a sophisticated sense of proportion, and even the later sphinxes from the Pharaonic period had lion, ram or human heads that matched the size of the body. Therefore, one can assume that the original head of the Sphinx in front of the Giza pyramids was well-worn after a long period of rain and a new face was chiseled out of the remaining rock with a narrow beard, a nemyss headdress and the uraeus cobra on its forehead. The broken-off beard was found near the Sphinx and is today found in the British Museum in London, joined by the nose, which was shot off by Turkish cannonballs. The typical Egyptian kingly attributes (long, narrow beard; uraeus cobra; nemyss headdress) do indicate that a Pharaoh redesigned the head of the Sphinx. However, it is also possible that the meaning of this ancient Egyptian insignia is that the First Dynasty Pharaohs matched their appearance to the royal Sphinx head. The Controversy about the Sphinx and Its Age The Pharaoh Chephren is considered to 12 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ October 2014
have been the creator of this fascinating sculpture. The body of the Sphinx is extensively weathered and has been restored multiple times throughout the millennia.
Egyptologists attribute this erosion to the wind, although the Sphinx stands in a trench and was buried in sand for most of the 4,500 years that have passed since the days of Chephren The Greek historian Herodotus, who traveled through Egypt in the 5th century B.C., reported about all three Giza pyramids but failed to make any mention of the Sphinx, which leads us to conclude that it was fully covered by sand in that period.
If the desert wind truly did cause the erosion, then the sandstone structures from the Fourth Dynasty should at least show signs of the same degree of weathering, which simply is not the case [Figs. 2.6 and 2.7]. The vertical, 0.9- to 1.8-meterdeep grooves in the trench walls seem to indicate massive water flows, which must have arisen from powerful and plentiful rainstorms—last experienced in Egypt over 10,000 years ago. The traces of water erosion on the Sphinx were first noticed by Schwaller deLubicz, who carried out extensive research in Egypt in the 1940s. In Sacred Science, he stated: “A great civilization must have preceded the vast movements of water that passed over Egypt, which leads us to assume that the Sphinx already existed, sculptured in the rock of the west cliff at Gizeh, that Sphinx whose leonine body, except for the head, shows indisputable signs of aquatic erosion” (Schwaller de Lubicz 1982, 96). (The body of the Sphinx wascovered with sand throughout the majority ofthe past 15,000 years. The earth, which canbe seen here, covered the temples that were situated 2.8 meters lower and were excavatedin the mid-1800s.Fig.)

SOMETHING THAT MY GUIDES ARE CONTINUALLY DRIVING HOME AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN CLEAR ABOUT IS THAT BECAUSE WE’RE ALL INTRICATELY CONNECTED, AS EACH OF US INCREASES OUR PERSONAL VIBRATORY LEVEL, IT AFFECTS THE REST OF US IN A POSITIVE WAY, TOO. THIS IS EVOLUTION; THIS IS SPIRITUAL GROWTH; SO, WHAT CAN WE, AS INDIVIDUALS, DO TO FACILITATE OUR CONTINUED EVOLUTION? Three things come to mind:
#1 is to be present, #2 is to live in the moment, and #3 is to watch what we think and say. It sound so easy when we read the words on the page, but we are seasoned veterans on planet Earth--we know these things are not so simple to put into action—they take focus and awareness. As you think about and meditate upon the information in this article, remember that you are a powerful entity currently incarnated in a human body; which means that you have the power to make positive changes in your life, and in the lives of those around you. Becoming aware of the affect our words and actions have with regard to ourselves and others is an important step in taking responsibility, utilizing our innate power, and moving ourselves and those we’re connected to up the evolutionary ladder. IMPECCABLE WARRIORS OF LIGHT
MASTER THE LANGUAGE OF GRACE By Peace Mother Geeta Sacred Song

THEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ Ocotber 2014
The language of Grace is mysterious at times. In order to Succeed Spiritually, it is vital to pay Great Attention to how the Universe is communicating with us and the Impeccable Warrior of Light has many tools for increasing Awareness to the “invisible world” around us. As Spiritual beings, we need to recognize the many signs, symbols and ways in which our Angels and other Spiritual Protectors are sending us messages to Guide and Inspire our daily perspectives. The Divine Messages from our Spirit Guides could appear through the way a candle flickers, cloud is formed, wind picks up... or a specific bird flies by. The answer to our questions may appear through a magazine article or the title of a book that synchronistically crosses our Path. Spirit might talk to us through someone who ‘just happens’ to say something that totally clarifies one of our inner questions. If we are Attentive, we will notice when the Spirit World is speaking to us. For example, one man once shared with me the story of how God delivered his Spiritual Name to him. He had asked his Spirit Guides what his new name should be. As the man was watching television, his mind was totally consumed with this question. Suddenly a character in the movie shouted, “His name shall be Arjuna!” Upon hearing this, he felt chills over his body and he knew this was the name he was to use for the new phase of his Life.
She mentioned that she felt displaced because the Spiritual group she had been working with for many years had pushed her out of the organization and she could not understand why. She felt she had contributed largely towards the growth of the organization, and felt deep anguish over the perceived betrayal. I revealed to her that it wasn’t the Spiritual organization that was pushing her out of her old routine; it was her own Soul. Her Self-Created Universe had to push her forward so she could move on to other work. If not for the push, she would have stagnated in a position she had outgrown...and her soul would have languished. When we ignore our Soul’s urges to Courageously move on, we miss the Cosmic Timing that will place us in the Perfect Place for the next chapter of our growth. This realization lit a fire of desire within her to Master the Language of Grace. When she found out we were conducting an Impeccable Warrior of Light Training Intensive, she quickly registered to attend, in order to receive heightened Training that would solidify her connection with her Spirit Guides.
Once at the Intensive, she shared that during her Shaktipat Limpia session I had delivered the Wisdom Teaching that in order to vanquish any disparaging inner or outer voices (from confused well-meaning friends who would feed Another illustration of the intricate way her self-pity), she needed to intensify Grace blesses us involved a woman who her Spiritual practices and cultivate uncame to see me for a Shaktipat Limpia swerving Trust in her Highest Destiny. to heal a dark cloud of disappointment. 19 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ October 2014
She also shared that a few evenings before her Shaktipat Limpia, she had seen a fund-raising commercial on television in which an African woman was appealing for assistance in feeding the homeless orphans of Africa. As she was viewing the program she felt as if the woman on the screen was gazing directly at her. At one point, she heard the African woman say, “We need your help; you must help us right away”. As she heard this, she felt the woman fly from the screen directly into her heart, igniting within her an all-consuming desire to respond immediately. The program was offering free videos of the infomercial, for those interested in becoming fundraisers for the mission and the woman called to request one. When she received it, she was shocked to see that the African woman was not in the program! Shaktipat Limpias can remove veils that block the Pure Connection to our Spirit Guides and the Perfection of the Universe. Each Shaktipat Limpia lifts pockets of inner darkness that imprison you one way or another, derailing you from embarking on the path to your Highest Destiny. In this case, after this woman received the Shaktipat Limpia shower of Grace, the energies of regrets, selfpity, bitterness and depression disappeared. Now she was able to see, hear and comprehend the language of Grace. Cleared of obstructive forces, saturated in a new space of fearlessness and Confidence in her Soul Path, she was able to hear the voice of her 20 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ October 2014
Intuition, which guided her to contact a friend who quickly agreed to support her Mission. Due to the Mystical infusion of Light, her new Life was rapidly launched! To increase the Connection with your Spirit Guides, it is necessary to refine the senses in order to perceive the Greater Realities. Otherwise, if the mind is whirling with the daily flood of thoughts, it is too easy to drown out the subtle voice of Spirit. Have you ever received a Divine Message and then convinced yourself that the message was actually your imagination playing tricks on you...or that you cannot carry out what Spirit has revealed? These “thoughts” are the voice of sabotaging forces that have corded and bound you. To liberate yourself from imprisoning voices requires intense focus on your Freedom and Willingness to take action...to do everything you can to break the shackles and barriers between you and your Highest Destiny. Impeccable Warriors of Light understand that the Eagle flies with two wings: Grace...and Self-Effort. It takes both to Succeed on the Spiritual Path. The Self Effort factor is provided when you increase your daily Spiritual Practices. Prayers, Mantras, Affirmations, Dancing, Singing, Ceremonial Offerings... connecting with the Land, Waters, Sky, Sacred Knowledge and acts
of Kindness... when conducted with Pure and Sincere Longing, these Sacred Activities can create a deeper connection to your Spirit Team.
to soar above all your troubles...and the Love of your Divine Protectors will shine forth a beacon of Light to guide you safely to your Highest Destiny.
However, when you feel stuck, you can experience that it is difficult to get excited about your Spiritual Discipline. During those periods of feeling blocked, it can be challenging to motivate your Self to expand your Spiritual Practices. That is a Perfect Time to receive an Infusion of Brilliant Light through Power Prayers like the Shaktipat Limpia Prayers and Mantras. Changing Our Realit by Ellen Angelica Pendergast
We are everywhere at once....it can be no other way, as we are all ONE energy called Love....we focus and we take on that “specific life” or reality by our feelings and thoughts. That is how we go into dimensions; in other words, by matching the frequency of that dimensional reality (as everything vibrates at a certain frequency). We basically focus with our feelings and thoughts, expectations, and of course, our belief system,(every flows where our attention goes but really the root cause of our reality is from FEELING a certain way..that then turns into a perception, which becomes our perspective, which becomes our belief, producing a knowing; becoming a thought, which causes our Reality to appear. (For more information on this process, please read the books, “Frequency,” by Penney Pierce, and “When Everything Changes, Change Everything,” by Neale Donald Walsch.) 22 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ October 2014

Time is truly spiral rather than linear. Picture a spindle, circular. Now look down upon it and imagine it separated into segments, as if one sliced a pie. If we look at the spindle, standing upright, from it’s side, imagine that it is sliced into very thin lines, horizontally. Each of those ‘lines’ represents a time frame, ie., 500 BC, 1000 AD, 2014 AD, etc. Now we decide which one to ‘enter;’ meaning we enter our world (lifetime), choosing the time and place. That part is pre-destined, so to speak by US, before we incarnate. We choose the perfect opportunities for Spiritual Growth, and although you may not ‘like’ (your social class, ethnicity, parents, country, etc.), that you were born into, you did on a Spiritual level, choose it to Remember Who You Really Are, which is Love/God.
to ‘think positive;’ don’t let anything get you down, what you think about, you bring about, etc. Every Master has said this in some way or another. The truth is always stated... just differently, so that everyone, in every state of mind and on every level of Spiritual Evolution, gets it; we all do, eventually....it just depends how long you wish it to take!
So everyday, in your life, feel good... think good thoughts, and watch your life change; same situation, but a different outcome will be experienced, just by monitoring your FEELINGS (which as stated in ’The Secret,’ by Rhonda Bryne), our feelings are much easier to monitor than our thoughts!...(The interesting thing about all these ‘frequencies,’ is that from looking into the realIncarnations experiences in this particu- ity, they all look the same...just different lar ‘life’ on this ‘Cosmic Spindle/Wheel,’ outcomes appear!) are then split into those ‘pie shapes’ I spoke of earlier, which we will call here Truly we are Spirits, called Love/God, ‘frequencies/dimensions.’ As Einstein experiencing our lives,…. and please stated, “Match the frequency of the REMEMBER, (that is to become a Reality you wish to experience....and member once again, as Neale Donald you cannot help but get get that experi- Walsch mentioned in his Conversation ence; there can be no other way...this is With God series....)we were ALL ONE, not philosophy; this is Physics...’ AND ALL meant to be JOYFUL! By our thoughts, and most importantly Blessings! our FEELINGS, we go into a frequency that matches what we are feeling and thinking...those ‘pie shapes’ are different outcomes for the same situation, and we enter into and experience whatever we are feeling/expecting/thinking; that is the reason we are always told 23 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ October 2014
The Challenge of Healing Body: How Can We Really Heal Ourselves and Our Beloved Planet Using the Pachakuti Mesa? by don Oscar Miro-Quesada

The Pachakuti Mesa Tradition and the Creation of Sacred Community In Lima, life was increasingly difficult. Revolutionary extrem- ists were creating chaos as counter-insurgency forces struggled to maintain control of the city. In December of 1985, to com- memorate their leader’s birthday, Shining Path bombed ten banks, a shopping center, a judicial office, and eight electrical towers. As a result, residents suffered through electrical black- outs almost every day. The soaring inflation and hoarding of durable goods by merchants made it difficult to find even the basics in stores. psychology department at the University of West Georgia. My full-time work consisted of heading up the Spanish department, teaching World and Social Sciences, and coaching the women’s varsity soccer team at a private school to offset the cost of Andrea’s tuition. As if that wasn’t enough, on the evenings when I didn’t have class, I began to hold RAMA study group sessions in my home. After our trip to meet the RAMA guides in the desert, don Sixto had asked me to become the southeastern coordi- nator of RAMA study groups in the United States. I also had a handful of psychotherapy clients I would see on Saturdays. My days and evenings were full! At the university, I shared my small office with some very interesting personalities.
It was the spring of 1986, and don Benito had just made his earthly transition. My daughter’s maternal grandparents were moving to Florida to live in a retirement community. They had been kind enough to allow my daughter and her emotionally unstable mother to live with them until the com- pletion of my two-year fellowship work obligation in Peru. I missed my little girl terribly. I knew she missed me too: I had seen how much she needed me during my near-death experi- ence at the end of 1984. So, with great relief in my heart, I traveled to Durham, North Carolina, to pick up Andrea and to settle with her in Carrollton, Georgia. It was the fall of 1986. My office mate was Raymond Moody, whose book Life after Life had made him the premier authority in the world on the topic of near-death experiences. Our conversations gave me a language for talking about my own experience in new ways. Bill Roll, a parapsychology expert, occupied the office next door. He was famous for his poltergeist studies and for investigating paranormal activities of all kinds. Since I was so familiar with the “unseen” world of shamanic allies, working on psi projects with Bill was a logical next step for my own re-entry into the world of Western sensi- bilities. I was learning, through these experiences, to translate my shamanic experiences in new ways. I was being prepared to fulfill my promise to don Celso to take his teachings “to the North.” I was being completely supported by the unseen world every step of the way. Later that fall, I opened my mesa for the first time to a U.S. audience. Because of its prominence in transpersonal and human- istic psychology, the department at West Georgia would host monthly grand-rounds where specialists in gestalt, bio- energetic healing, psi research, and other emerging modali- ties would be invited from all over the country to speak. I had been working with some graduate students who were interested in how to integrate shamanism practices into their psychotherapy practices. As a result of the incredible feed- back they were providing, Mike Arons, who was the chair of the department and who had been Maslow’s colleague at Brandeis, asked me to present at one of those grand-round events. ing to present all the shamanic wis- doms I had learned over the previous seventeen years. Since I was very young, I have always had the ability to see associations and relationships among disparate things. I see how everything is interconnected and whole. Even as a young child, I felt this innate need to reveal the unmanifest integrity of the big picture. Through my apprenticeship with don Celso and then with don Benito, I recognized the similarities between the practice of a north coastal mesada and the ceremonial earth offerings, or haywas, of the Southern Andes where don Benito was from. I was entranced by the correspondences between these two traditions and the teachings of the RAMA Mission too. And then there were the traditions of Western Mystery Schools that I had immersed myself in along the way. I knew I was destined to carry the traditions of my home- land to the North. I wanted to bring something to the world that would transform the way psychotherapy was practiced too. And, I knew whatever I presented needed to resonate with a more community-based life style that people were yearning to reconnect to in their lives. I realized that what was missing was a unifying vision. I started to deeply study the Inka cosmo-vision and its depic- tion on a golden plaque that had once graced the walls of their most sacred temple in Cusco, the Qorikancha. It was a pure-

So as I prepared to present these materials to my teachers and colleagues at West Georgia, I just configured all of what was coming into my consciousness into a pattern, and there it was! I knew in that instant that the Pachakuti Mesa was about to be born. White-naped crane
(Grus vipio) This large crane is identifiable by the large circle of bare, red skin around each eye. It stands out from the slategrey feathers that cover most of the body, and the white throat and white stripe running from the crown to the nape of the neck. The legs are long and pinkish in colour. Juveniles are smaller with a brown head and pale brown throat. The white-naped crane has a high-pitched call The white-naped crane breeds at the border between Russia, Mongolia and China and in the Amur and Ussuri river basins. It migrates along the Songnen Plain and the Gulf of Bohai to its wintering grounds in the Yangtze basin in China, the demilitarised zone between North Korea and South Korea, and in Izumi, Japan 28 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♼ October 2014

White-naped crane conservation
During the breeding season, the whitenaped crane is found in wetlands along river valleys, grassy marshes, wet sedge meadows, and on islands of steppe lakes with reed beds. In autumn, they feed in dry areas in river valleys and wheat fields in Russia and Mongolia. In winter, its habitat consists of freshwater lakes, farmland, and sometimes coastal flats
The white-naped crane is legally protected in all its range states, (for example, hunting of this species is prohibited in Mongolia, and is found in many protected areas. An artificial feeding station in Japan has resulted in an increase in the population that winters in Japan, although whether it is due to higher breeding success or simply the relocation of other birds is not clear. A protected area at the intersection between Russia, China, Mongolia and North Korea has been proposed for the benefit of breeding white-naped cranes. It is also necessary to ensure key areas in the demilitarised zone between North and South Korea are protected, and to preserve the wetlands around the Three Gorges Dam in China. There is also concern for the Japanese wintering population, as they congregate around the feeding sites, increasing the risk of an epidemic affecting a large proportion of the population. The intended solution to this problem is to encourage the birds to spread over a larger area in Japan during the winter.
White-naped crane threats Wetland habitats are commonly threatened by drainage for agriculture, and the breeding grounds of the white-naped crane are no exception. Fires also cause habitat destruction at nesting sites and can rapidly decimate a nesting colony. In Mongolia, drought, over-grazing and human disturbance are also major threats to breeding white-naped cranes.
The wintering grounds in the wetlands of the Yangtze basin are threatened by development and human disturbance. A major threat to the natural functioning of the Yangtze river basin is the construction of the Three Gorges Dam, which prevents normal water flow and thereby alters habitats and fish migratory movements. The demilitarised zone between North Korea and South Korea is expected to be developed shortly, which may deprive the white-naped crane of one of its most important wintering sites. Hunting is a minor threat and pesticide poisoning a potential http://www.arkive.org/white-naped-crane/ threat grus-vipio/

Simplicity by Rashmi Khilnani

Babaji: I am Bhole Baba. This means I am the simple Father. The nature of the mind is to be complex and to evaluate, analyze, and to judge. The essential nature of the heart is simplicity. Here we are talking of the spiritual heart within you and not human emotions and feelings. Simplicity is most at home within its hub, which is supreme silence. Simplicity is in the here and now. The mind is always in the past or future and never in the here and now, and therefore is neversimple. Once the mind becomes simple, it actually moves to a state of no-mind. Simplicity is seeing the unity in all things beyond diversity. Simplicity is “beingness” as opposed to “doingness.” It simply IS. Simplicity runs on the limitless energy of acceptance. It tends to be very heartfelt. When you let go of obsolete ideas, people, places, habits, and material possessions, and also feelings, memories, and thoughts that no longer serve you; you create an emptiness, a space within your being for something new to be born, to be created. There is a new energy that arises within you and this energy is intrinsically simple. Art by Maryam Morrison

Health Benefits of Olives http://juicing-for-health.com/
The health benefits of olives are usually credited to its healthy oil, but in its fresh state it is also highly beneficial in preventing many chronic diseases. Therefore the combined effect can help maintain a healthy, smooth and young skin.

Manifesting
Inner and Outer Peace
By Dr. Barry Hammer 46 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♼ October 2014
The reality of peace must actually be lived, by being expressed to others with unselfish caring, and responsive harmonious empathic attunement, along with indivisibly related qualities of goodness such as love, happiness, and beauty, because it is not truly real if it is only a static, abstract, presumptive, thought in the mind, without being lived, or expressed, as a dynamic, responsive, energy, through everything that we say and do, in every here and now present moment. I find that inner peace naturally leads to outer peace, meaning that when the heart is deeply relaxed, with an attitude of non-judgmental unconditional acceptance of oneself and others, so that we are fully at peace with ourselves, then that inner peace will naturally be reflected outwardly by bringing peace and harmony to our experience in the world. The key to inner peace, which brings peace, harmony, and love into the outer world, is to experience the deep sense of fearlessness, security, and well-being, that comes from unselfishly expressing caring, or love, to others, and, thereby, being forgetful of the fearful, selfish, prideful, deficient-feeling, ego, a false or unreal sense of self that is the basic source of lack of peace, harmony, and goodness in our inner experience and in the outer world. We cannot find inner and outer peace by turning inward, in any kind of selfish self-awareness, because introspective self-awareness blocks our conscious life energy from naturally flowing outward to others, and that blocked energy contracts or clenches the emotional heart
center level of one’s being, producing fear, tension, hostility, and other related forms of negativity. The role of narcissistic self- awareness in producing inner and outer conflict, or lack of peace and harmony, can be understood in metaphorical terms represented by a Black Hole in space, recoiled upon itself, in a powerful inward suction, producing a destructive momentum of self-confinement and disintegration, that traps light, warmth, and energy, unnaturally blocking energy from flowing outward, contrary to the naturally radiant energy of love, epitomized by sunshine, light, and water naturally flowing outward, rather than pulling inward toward their source of origin. Some people seek a false sense of peace and security by introspectively turning inward, often through introversive practices such as solitary meditation, abstract contemplation, or living the isolated life of a hermit, as a means of avoiding the risk of possibly experiencing rejection, loss, disappointment, anger, conflict, and other forms of emotional pain, hurt, or negativity that may come from being deeply invested in heartfelt caring or loving relationships with other people. The sense of calm that comes from isolating oneself in that way is not true inner peace, because it involves escaping from fearful feelings, and a fragile sense of insecurity, which one anticipates might arise if one comes out of one’s egocentric self-protective, isolated, detached, psychological “walls”, “shell”, or “bubble.” The false inner peace, or solitary calm, of emotional detachment reflects a numbed, death-like, static, timid, stony,
47 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ October 2014
cold-hearted, dispassionate, rather uncaring, contracted, sense of indifference, whereas real inner peace and outer harmony reflects the living energy of unselfish, expansive, warmhearted, love, that arises from an openness to letting be, flowing with, learning from, being strengthened by, and, thereby, finding true goodness in, uncomfortable, or unpleasant, feelings and situations that might arise from being deeply invested in caring relationships with other individuals. Although peace and harmony cannot be found by turning inward, in any kind of introspective self- awareness, inner and outer peace finds us when we are self-forgetful as ego, by being deeply invested in unselfishly caring about others around us, and then, in being forgetful of the ego, as a false sense of separate self-awareness, we find our real self as love and goodness, which is a relational self, an unselfishly, generously, giving nature, not a separate, selfish, self-awareness. Only when people connect to one another in loving harmony can spiritual love blessing power flow through them into the world, and transform this world for the better, eliminating conflicts, and manifesting the unconditional peace, harmony, and goodness that is inherent to the permanent being of love. One cannot reach enduring peace from a position of holding inner and outer conflict, disturbance, and deficiency, or lack of well-being, to be reality, and then trying to find some way to overcome, resolve, or eliminate that negativity. Strug48 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♼ October 2014
gling against negativity, and viewing it as the true reality nature of oneself, others, and life as a whole, perpetuates and magnifies that negativity, pulling one’s conscious energy ever deeper and deeper into that negativity, which energizes, feeds, and amplifies that negativity, like trying to fight fire with fire only makes the fire hotter and more destructive. Trying to overcome conflict, brutality, and oppression by struggling against perceived injustices and oppressors, expressing a blaming, judgmental, antagonistic, attitude toward such perceived wrongdoers, can fan the flames of negativity by arousing even greater hostility in those being blamed, and reinforcing their view of themselves as actually having the malevolent qualities attributed to them by those activists who denounce them. Much more powerful and enduring change for the better can come from expressing the intrinsic permanent being of relaxed peace, harmony, love, and goodness as already being the true reality nature of oneself, and viewing that as also being the inherent true nature of other individuals, and of life as a whole, now already. Conditions of conflict, suffering, oppression, and injustice, are most likely to enduringly subside if one views that negativity as being only a temporary, dreamlike, illusory, experience, like a nightmare, not the intrinsic true reality nature of anyone’s permanent being. Recognizing and expressing that permanent being of peace, harmony, and well-being, is what most profoundly, and enduringly, dispels temporary illusory
experiences of individual and societal disorders, like waking up automatically dispels dreams, and like bright sunshine effortlessly dissolves dark clouds, whereas antagonistically struggling against negativity often makes it worse, by immersing one’s conscious energy ever deeper into the negativity that one struggles against, like being obsessed with darkness keeps it always in mind, instead of turning on the light, which automatically dispels darkness, or like making muddy waters muddier by stirring them up, instead of permitting the mud to naturally fall back down to the bottom of the pond by not agitating the water, which restores the natural purity of the water. Sometimes one can work to change the status quo if some other alternative would be more compassionate and beneficial, but still remain grounded in relaxed inner peace, so that that inner peace can produce, and be reflected by, greater harmony, justice, and abundance in the outer world.

DISCOVERING THE
DIVINITY WITHIN by Rasha
50 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ October 2014
There comes a moment, in the midst of a spiritual journey, when something simply shifts. In that indescribable instant, there is the stunning realization that all the books, all the workshops, all the mind-stretching spiritual understandings, gathered up in your travels like a wildflower bouquet, can take you just so far. And no further. You “get it!” All that remains—is to actually experience it. Then, a magical moment arrives, unannounced. In the space of a heartbeat, it catapults you from the realm of believing—to a place of knowing.
awaited sequel to the underground spiritual classic, Oneness—Rasha takes us along on a seven-year odyssey through the maze of consciousness, as she shares the incredible story of her own spiritual journey. With the profound, transcribed guidance of Oneness (the Divine Presence often referred to as “God”) to light the way, A Journey to Oneness takes us for an authentic ride on the roller-coaster of spiritual transformation. This vivid, literary tapestry chronicles a mind’s probing questions about what is actually happening as it slowly unravels and shifts into a higher octave of perception—documents the astounding answers as they emerge from within—and weaves it all seamlessly with the poetry and rapture of Divine Union. As Oneness helps Rasha circumnavigate the potholes along the road to “freedom,” the reader is given a vibrant new vision of the nature of humanness, and in-depth guide to discovering the Divinity within.
In that moment, your awareness shifts— ever so smoothly—to an entirely different octave of Self-perception. Often, a deep inner-glow begins to build in your heart center. A smile you can’t hold back creeps across your face. Tears well up. You surrender all sense of separateness and allow yourself to melt into the embrace of something absolutely indescribable. You aren’t dreaming. You haven’t imagined it. You’re looking out through the eyes of Oneness. Here is an excerpt from A Journey to Oneness: Yet, the incredible thing is—it’s still you! Expanding the perception of Self-Realization One is then able to escalate one’s perceptions of that state of Beingness through the focus of attention in deep states of meditation. It is in those heightened states of Divine connectedness that one is able to actually merge one’s awareness of Self with that of the Absolute, of which one is a part, and to know oneSelf to Be That. In that state of consummate surrender, the Realized Self is absorbed into the Totality and ceases to perceive itself at all. These states of ultimate surrender are not permanent states of being. They are experiential plateaus of Awareness that can be visited, and in retrospect, remembered. In the moment, as the experience itself unfolds, there is no perception of Self at all. One simply Is. These are momentary glimpses into the realm of Ultimate Reality. These are not states of Being that one is expected to, or would aspire to sustain. For, the purpose of one’s presence within the realm of physicality is not one’s denial of physical experience. The purpose of one’s journey into the labyrinths of linear perception is for the possibility that the culmination of that journey—the Realization of one’s own Divine Essence—might be experienced.
Rasha is a modern-day spiritual Messenger, she has worked as a courier of Divine guidance for over twenty years. In February 1998, she began a profound dialogue with the universal Presence, “Oneness”─ the Divinity we all share. And here’s why. Our bodies, like our world, reflect our internal dynamics. If we have chaos within our consciousness, we have chaos within our bodies. We must clear out the fear and the junk we’ve carried around for years and learn again what it is to simply be. Get unfettered. Get guileless. Isn’t that what our bodies are always telling us? We have forgotten how to listen to them. We don’t realize that all of our emotional junk gets stored within them. We create our bodies every day with our thoughts and our beliefs. We treat a body like a machine: give it this, then do that, and everything will be fine. Unfortunately, some of the most devoted health nuts I know have some of the most persistent health problems.
come? I recently found a journal entry I wrote a few months ago. I was lamenting my condition and feeling frustrated that I was not fully healed yet:
My happiness depends on the state of my back right now, but my back isn’t going to change overnight; whereas, my happiness can change in an instant. Then again, I feel afraid of happiness because it feels like irresponsibility: I’ll be so happy that I’ll forget all about my back and then it will get really bad. I have held onto the belief that my worry is what keeps me on the healing path. If I worry about it, I focus on it, and that means I work to improve it. Can I be happy and work on improving it? Somehow this question makes me feel empty. Like working on it in happiness is a waste of So, there is something else going on. time. A body is like a child. We mold it with our perceptions, our misconceptions, Even more than that, it seems to me our anger, fear, and grief. We also heal that I believe it only makes sense to try it with our joy, love, and gratitude. You and heal my back if I’m miserable about know the expression, “Do as I say, not it. when I felt I was acting from joy, these actions were also intended to distract me from anxiety, fear, and worry. A habit is a habit, and this seemed like an overarching pattern in my life. If that was true, I was determined to recognize it. After all, if I believed that everything in life is connected, then I had to admit that compulsively avoiding suffering on one level was limiting my progress on other levels. Wasn’t it my goal to transcend these limitations and attain true and total healing? For days after reading this, I observed my motivations. I pondered the notion of stillness. I sat on the couch and refused to move until I felt that the impulse was not coming from a need to distract myself. I sat through anxiety. I sat through stress that things weren’t getting done. I sat through Brecht’s wary glancesas he went about his daily chores. Laundry was piling up. The house was getting very dirty, and I was getting very bored. I felt totally apathetic and completely at a loss. What was I waiting for? What part of me was I trying to contact? Then I remembered a seminar I attended years ago. The teacher gave us a technique to reach our divine center. You had to sit quietly and allow these negative emotions to well up within you. As each emotion reached its peak you imagined yourself falling through it to the next layer. Then you allowed this emotion to grow in intensity until it was almost unbearable, and again, you were told to fall into the next layer. I did this obediently through several layers and then I reached a place of total chaos. I
couldn’t focus on anything long enough to describe it. I couldn’t relax enough to “fall through” like they wanted me to. It was just like being on a rollercoaster: up, down, up, down. I didn’t think I could make it, but sometimes grace takes over and against all odds, we find the courage to trust. Eventually, somehow, I fell through that chaos and unfolded into a powerful and potent darkness. It was a vibrant universe, an ever-expanding source of energy and potential, an unfathomable and joyful dance, and it was me! Thinking back on that moment of revelation, I decided that I wanted my choices to be motivated by this part of me, not the fearful and timid part that was always looking for the safest, most secure solution. I wanted to experience this endless joy on a daily basis. We human beings are bursting with powerful potential. We are filled with an unremitting joy. Unfortunately, we’ve mostly lost touch with this part of ourselves, and achieving joy is now synonymous with the bland and deadening notion of avoiding suffering. If we sit still for too long, we experience the judgments, fears, and worries that I experienced both at the seminar years ago and in my house during those three days of inactivity. The most common solution to deal with these feelings is to go, go, go. Distraction has become a way of life, and over the years we have created grander and grander methods of distraction. Yet, there doesn’t seem to be a correlation between our level of distraction and our ability to maintain a peaceful and joyful existence.

In the name of being happy, we have become a society of doers. We have even turned the state of “being” into a process by endlessly creating and recreating our self-image. Who are you? You can communicate that to everyone through fashion, music, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and probably some others I haven’t heard of yet. Even the quest for relaxation is a form of doing. People play golf or get a massage or watch TV or read a book. All of this doing leads to very little being. Our minds never receive the training required to bring peace to our lives so that we can simply be. So, when we are not distracted with our daily occupations, our minds are left fumbling, not knowing what to do. Anyway, I know mine is. The point is that if we don’t train ourselves to enjoy stillness, we begin creating situations just to avoid the quiet, to distract ourselves from the quiet. Maybe we’re workaholics or shopaholics or alcoholics or runners or cyclists or drama queens. Have you ever seen these people who always have something dramatic occurring? They are totally focused outward, never finding the time to be still and go within. Maybe we constantly have music playing or the TV on “just for some background noise.” It really doesn’t matter what the distraction is. The point is that precious few of us have frequent moments of total stillness. And this is a shame, because stillness is essential not only to a pleasant existence; it is essential to healing. Healing is always a return to your divine nature, to your true self. Eckhart Tolle tells us: “Your inner58 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ October 2014
most sense of self, of who you are, is inseparable from stillness. This is the I Am that is deeper than name and form.” How can we reach this powerful stillness within? We must pass through the fear, the worries, and the judgments to arrive there. We must face ourselves in the quiet moments, recognize the signs of imbalance, and start digging. I used to believe that there was always something to worry about because every time I sat quietly with nothing to do, I worried. I grew anxious or judgmental, and all of my fears started showing themselves. Then it occurred to me: maybe this fear is what I’m avoiding when I’m running around “getting things done” or “enjoying my free time.” Maybe these little nagging thoughts are unfinished business. Maybe I can learn something valuable about myself if I just begin to observe this pattern, instead of getting bogged down in the actual emotion. Worrying doesn’t help anyway, and it certainly doesn’t feel good. And no one ever said it was necessary, and even if they did, who’s to say they were right? I am convinced that if you trained yourself to be joyfully unoccupied, you might find that what you chose to occupy yourself with later would be very different because it wouldn’t be driven by a compulsion to avoid stress and worry. Right now, every day is a race to stay just ahead of the scary emotions. We tell ourselves that we stay so active because otherwise life would be boring or unproductive. But most of our activities only bring us further from ourselves.
Instead of distracting myself all of the time, I want to fuel my actions from the wisdom within me. I want to live my life with a deep sense of trust, knowing that everything is as it should be. I want to know that at every moment, with every action I am creating a joyful, healthy, and prosperous existence. I want the “do, do, do” part of me to be fueled by the stillness, the “I AM” that lives at the center of me. The only way I have found to do this is to lessen the amount of distraction in my life and to become inquisitive about my thoughts and choices. That way, when my “self ” bubbles up from the depths, I will be present enough to listen. Like I said: healing is revealing.

Ego is a non-existential phenomenon. It always lives in constant fear of being exposed as it is empty within. It is only an appearance, not a reality. It is the presence of an absence. Something which is only an appearance, a mirage, fear is bound to be there at the very centre of it. Cowardice is the byproduct of fear. It is not an essential part of the ego; it is the whole of the ego. It is bound to be so, because the ego lives in constant fear of being exposed; it is empty within. The cowardice at the abyss is the ego at the surface. One, who is farther away from it, can only see this non-existential phenomenon but the moment one is close to it, it is not there. The mirage in the desert starts disappearing as one comes closer to it because it is nothing other than a byproduct of the sunrays being reflected by the hot sands of the desert. The first astronauts were shocked to see the moon because as they came closer to the moon, there is no light. It is just a flat, barren piece of earth-no green, no life –a dead rock. The concern of everybody is that one does not allow the other to come too close and therefore in a fear maintains a distance because to allow people to come too close means opening the doors of one’s emptiness. Fear influences all our activities consciously or unconsciously. So the point of discussion is ;What fear is? Certainly fear comes into being when our comprehension of relationship is not complete intimately. This relationship not only between 62 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ October 2014
people but also between ourselves and nature, between ourselves and our possessions ,between ourselves and our ideas .As long as this relationship is not fully understood ,fear must be there in us. We have the idea that to overcome something is to conquer something, but the fact is that no problem can be finally conquered; it can be understood, not conquered. Understanding and conquering are two different processes .The conquering process leads to further confusion and further fear. To resist, to dominate, or to build a defense against it is only to create further conflicts, but if one can understand fear ,go into it completely ,explore the whole content of it ,then fear will not return in any form .. Of many fears, the one that one is most aware is that of intimacy. Intimacy means exposing oneself before a stranger. It is certain that we all are strangers-nobody knows anybody. We are even strangers to ourselves because we do not know who we are. Intimacy brings one close to a stranger. When one drops one’s defenses intimacy is possible and the fear is that if one drops one’s defenses, all one’s mask, he knows not what the stranger is going to do with him. A thousand and one thing we are hiding, not only from others but also from ourselves because we have been brought up in a sick humanity with all kind of repressions ,inhibitions , taboos.
The fear with the somebody is who is a stranger-does not matter living with the person for as many years ;the strangeness never disappears-it feels safer to keep a little defense ,a little distance ,because somebody can take advantage of one’s weakness ,of one’s frailties, of one’s vulnerability. The problem becomes more complicated because no wound can be healed up unless it is opened as the more it is hidden the more it becomes dangerous and finally becomes cancerous. An egoist is a coward as he cannot allow the closeness of anybody and closeness of any kind –friendship, love and even companionship. We are so identified with the ego that the death of the ego, the disappearance of the ego feels as if it is our death. It is not so; on the contrary, when the ego is dead, we can know our reality, our essential being. The more egoist a person is ,the more he has to remain lonely and to be lonely is miserable, but one has to pay for the non-existential ego to appear real with one’s misery, pain and anguish. We are not what we appear to be .One may appear to be a saint but deep down one is a weak human being with all the desires and all the longings. So the first and the last step is to accept oneself in one’s totality in spite of all traditions, which have driven the whole humanity insane and coward. Once we accept ourselves as we are, the fear will disappear where we cannot lose our respect, our greatness, our piousness and our
saintliness as we do not have it .If we do not have it, then there is no question of losing it. One is to accept oneself with one’s totality. If one cannot accept one so, how can expect somebody else for the same? From others what one has learned is self –condemnation nothing else .This ‘other ‘might be the society, the so-called religion, the teachers etc. It is therefore one goes on hiding it because it is not beautiful to show to others quite knowing that ugly things are hidden inside. One well knows that one’s animality is hidden inside oneself. Unless one transforms one’s attitude and accepts oneself as one of the animals in existence one will go on missing the harmony with Nature. The word’ animal’ is bad as we take it It simply means alive, that comes from’ anima’. Whoever is alive is an animal but man has been taught man is not an animal as animals are far below man. We are human beings. Here lies the fault that we have been given a false superiority. The truth is that existence does not believe in the superior or the inferior because in existence everything is equal-the tree, the bird, the animals and the so-called human beings. The solution to the problem is that when everything is accepted absolutely as it is, there is no condemnation, once this is sincerely accepted one can easily drop the false ego instantly. When one sees that everything is beautiful in its ordinariness all divisions are dropped.
