Omar Akram is a Grammy Award-winning recording artist, composer and pianist. He became the first Afghan-American to win a Grammy award in 2012 with his fourth studio album, “Echoes of Love.”He is also an inspirational writer who contributes to The Huffington Post. It is our honor in The Eden Magazine to interview with Omar Akram in his studio. Omar’s music blends the unique sounds of various Middle Eastern and European countries into a blossoming and mystical New Age mix. He came strongly to express his passion of music with combing the world’s music together. Omar was born to a UN diplomat and spent his youth moving from country to country. Following what he loves the most, was a path that he had choose. When his first album, “Opal Fire”, was released in 2002 the priced was paid and he was happy of who he became. Meeting Omar and his lovely wife Merry Taheri Akram for the first time in his studio was a great honor for me. I have been following his music for many years, and also as an artist I was inspired by his sounds. Omar is the first Farsi language Grammy winner, that is loved by people around the world. He is a composer, husband and a great farther, who brings about family values by including them in his works. 1. How did you start playing the piano and when did you first write music? I was a hyper child and listening to music would calm me down. My parents bought me a piano at the age of 6 and got me to take piano lessons. At the time we were living in Prague, Czeck Republic. I started with European classical music. Eventually as a teenager I started to compose my own music. 2. What’s your composing method? ( a) sitting at a piano (b) computer (c) pencil on manuscript paper (d) improvisation with musicians (e) other. My usual way of composing is to sit in front of my piano and start writing. I have the computer on so whatever I play is being recorded. After a few days 8 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
I go back and listen to what I recorded. If I like certain part of it, then I develop it. If I don’t find anything that I like, I repeat the process all over again. 3. Do you find inspiration from other composers? Which? I rarely find inspiration from other composers. My inspiration comes from my travels and just life in general. I love traveling and spending time with my family. 4. Which non-musical influences are important to your music? I am big fan of movies and arts. Going to movies and museums inspire my music. I love to spend the day at the Getty museum or at the Los Angeles County Museum of Arts. 5. When did you feel ready to call yourself a composer? You are really never ready to call yourself a composer. It’s always a work in progress. But I am proud of the work I’ve done, and looking forward to continuing my journey as a composer and recording artist. 6. Would you like to compose for movies, what movie composers do you love? I would love to score movies. As matter of fact I am currently involved in a couple of movie projects. It’s a different process than making an album, but it’s a great challenge and I am looking forward to it. There are many great movie composers. My two favorites are Bernad Herrmann for writing most of Afred Hichcock movies like Psycho and the Italian composer, Ennio Morricone for writing the score for most spaghetti westerns and also great movies like Cinema Paradiso. 7. What is the piece of music you are most proud of? I am proud of all of my work. A couple of pieces that stand out are, Dancing with the Wind from Free as a Bird album and The Promise from Daytime Dreamer. 8. Can you tell us a little about your travels. What are some of your favorite places. Also what do you like to do when you are not in the studio working on your music? I was very fortunate as child to travel to different countries with my family. My father used to work
for United Nations in New York. Pragu, Czech Republic, Paris France Havana Cuba are some of the places we lived in. The cultures from these different countries have influenced my music. As a result of my travels, I speak four languages. When I am not in the studio, I like to travel and spend time with my family. 9. Tell us about Grammy Award you won in 2013? I won a Grammy Award for best New Age album, “Echoes of Love in 2013. It was culmination of twenty years of work. I came to Los Angeles in 1993 to pursue a career in music. I received a Grammy Award in 2013! Took a long time, but hard work pays off. I also had a great team behind me with great musicians and a great producer, Mr. Gregg Karukas and executive Producer Dr. Mike Vasilomanolakis and my record label at the time Real Music.

The
Redemption of the
Feminine Energy a Man’s Thing
by Roxana Jones
14 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
Even when on the superficial levels that we all prefer to observe, it might seem different, the world is not in the current situation because of its religious, political and economic wars. The world is the way it is simply because we, its human inhabitants – it is important to exclude the rest of the animal kingdom and clarify that humans are comprised of men and women in almost equal numbers – have not yet made peace with both, the masculine and feminine energies that simultaneously flow within each and every one of us. On deeper levels that might not be evident to the naked eye, what’s still unsolved and unforgiven is all the pain and suffering that men and women have inflicted on each other throughout human history in the name of religion, politics, and the economy. These might be quite unsettling asseverations to some. But whether we like it or not, we must admit that we are a by-product of our past… let us not forget that energy – and we are only that – can only be transformed but never created or destroyed. My asseverations are not intended to find out who is to blame or who is not. My heart sees a world where the roles of victims and villains are often times interchanged, but that is a different topic so let us focus on the fact that as the old saying goes, we live in a world where it ‘takes two to tango’ and what this means is that it’s impossible for the feminine and masculine energies to survive independently without the other. After many years of researching gender conflict and experiencing it on quite complex personal levels, I have come to the conclusion that the equitable world the majority of us is dreaming of – an egalitarian world free of war, that is – is still distant from this reality if men don’t begin to include in their everyday beliefs and practices, the fact that a great part of their energy, and a great part of what they are, is nothing less than feminine energy at its best. Of course, men will ask me: why not see it the other way around, why not ask women to begin to understand their masculine energy too! It would be totally valid to do the exercise both
ways but then, isn’t this a reality where we are still promoting the idea that men rule the world? Isn’t this an unbalanced so-called patriarchal global society where women and men continue to reproduce this distorted system, simply because it hurts too much to go deep inside and forgive ALL women and ALL men that have “harmed” us in ANY and EVERY way? What I am saying here is that in an excessively masculine society such a ours, men are the ones who must take the lead and start changing the way we are still defining and conceptualizing the feminine energy so that we can stop thinking it is simply a synonym for women when in truth it is so much more than that. What happens if not? Haven’t you seen how the planet has begun to balance what we are not being capable of doing on our own? Even if our limited science of history still doesn’t accept it, Earth has been home to other civilizations that lived here before us, and why did they vanished and weren’t able to continue living in their own imbalances? I am sure your heart is already giving you that answer. Now, some of you might think that there is nothing you can do about all this. Many of you will think that the policy makers and governments are responsible for such major societal changes which can only be implemented through education and on and on. Please take a few moments from your busy schedule to think otherwise and regardless if you are a male or a female, reflect on the following: Believe me when I say that, even if it’s at subatomic levels, the whole planet and every living being will feel and be affected by the actions you take to heal the wounds that have been caused by the masculine or feminine energies incarnated in the women and men of your past and present. I AM SURE you are ready for forgiveness just as we all are. Until next time, and don’t forget to be love.
15 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
What you are living on a personal level is reflected in the world as a whole. Don’t you think it’s about time to allow the world you are sharing with all of us, to be healed through the forgiveness you can offer to your own past?
Roxana Jones and Arnaud Saint-Paul devote themselves to their life purpose: To open as many hearts as possible and to help shifting the consciousness of the planet. As spiritual healers and teachers, life and business partners, their intent is to “ help millions around the world to embrace change and start living the type of love, happiness and abundance both of them now know exists for everyone once they are healed.” Together, they work enthusiastically in bringing to their audience the best of themselves so that everyone can connect to their own Truth and unveil who they truly are: divine beings enlightening the world in their own unique ways, even when darkness makes it hard to believe it is so. http://roxanajones.com/ 16 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016

Who are you? Do you know? I mean really know who you are, as in who’s behind the curtain, past your thoughts, underneath your skin, deep inside . . . beyond your desires and joys, and below your deepest pain. The Real You. Not what you look like, how old you are, or how much you weigh. Not what job you have, how smart you are, or what they pay. Not your upbringing, how wise you are, or what you’ve learned. Not what happened to you, how brave you are, or how you’ve been burned. Not even who you hope to be or your future goals and dreams. The “you” that existed before you even took your very first breath. Your Soul. Do you know who you are on a Soul level? Have you come to know that part of you at all? How does it show up in your life? Do you feel it when it does? Do you trust it? Have you consciously invited your Soul to live with you and to be an active part of this life with your mind and body? Do you even believe that you have a Soul? Oddly enough, the question “Who are you?” is rarely asked. It’s a question we would ask of ourselves, of course—yet self inquiry may not be humanity’s long suit. And this is not the only inquiry that the largest number of people seem to ignore. Do you believe that you came here intentionally or by happenstance? For a particular reason, or with no agenda at all? Both of these questions—Who are you? and Why are you here?—are central to the human experience. Yet apart from history’s great philosophers, theologians, and spiritual leaders, most of humanity seems
20 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
to roll through generation after generation just living, without any interest in solving these riddles— or being too busy with simple survival to be concerned with them. People everywhere seem to be running in emotional circles, trying to figure out how to make sense of it all without addressing the riddles. They want to fix themselves and jump-start their lives to end the blind monotony of their existence. They tend to focus on finding a solution to the immediate problem that they think will make everything better, rather than looking at who they are as a whole and how all of their beliefs, feelings, and thoughts have led them to where they are now. While the answers to the questions above may not seem to have much to do with whether we survive, they will have everything to do with how we survive. Through the exploration of our reason for being, we will find a deeper understanding of any current dilemma or unhappiness we are facing. We have a choice to live as happy, joyful beings, regardless of our exterior circumstances, or move through our days closed off to the real joys of life— which will have little to do with our circumstances. Life’s Agenda: Bigger Than You Think I certainly can’t imagine that we are on this planet simply to eat, work, and sleep. And we aren’t here just to procreate and keep humanity going, because if we were, all of us would have children. Why, then, are we here? I believe it’s for a much larger reason. Some say that the human body is a vehicle for the Soul; that each one of us is a Soul that has a body, a spiritual being that has become physical, not simply a physical entity. I agree with them. And if all of us believed that, many of us would have to admit that we’ve had it backward for hundreds of years. We would have to question life at the deepest level regarding love, religion, sex, politics—all of it. We’d have to question ourselves at the deepest level.
If we were to truly believe that we are all Souls living through a human body, we would be deeply motivated to treat others with kindness, look them in the eyes, knowing that they were one of us. We would have to feel. But the beliefs about who we are aren’t collective. Neither are the beliefs about why we’re here. And given millions of diverse and scattered beliefs about these matters, it’s no wonder we feel separate from each other, and so often find ourselves at war. Knowing this and seeing it throughout life, the first question of anyone exploring the idea of the Soul would be: Why would the Soul even desire to come to physicality? Why would it choose to engage in such an experience? Like so many of us, I, too, have pondered these questions, wondering what the point of life really is and why we’re all here in the world. My mind has long been serenading my Soul with the longstanding inquiry, “What’s it all about, Alfie?” The answer that always sings back to me is that the Soul has taken the journey to physicality so that it may experience all the daily joys and challenges, elations and anxieties, tears and laughter that are part of human life, knowing that these are its greatest opportunities to feel what it already knows. What it knows is that its natural state is oneness with all of life. It is clear that there’s no separation between it and anything else. But it cannot feel oneness outside the physical, because outside the physical there is only conceptualization. Only through physical expression is Concept turned into Experience. This then, is its agenda. And the quickest, most effective way for the Soul to experience oneness is for us, its physical counterpart, to fully feel whatever we are confronting in any moment—joy, fear, love, sadness (any and every emotion, not only the ones we have deemed good or positive)—then to fully express those feelings (to ourselves, others, or life), and finally, to combine those two experiences in a way that allows us to authentically connect with others through the feelings we have identified and ex-
pressed. This becomes a Sacred Formula. It is a process that can be articulated and activated, by which the Soul’s objective may be achieved. The first two parts of the formula (Feel, Express) place you in touch with your True Self. They fuel the last part of the formula (Connect), which introduces the most authentic you to others. It is this connection with other human beings that produces our largest and most impactful experience of oneness, causing us to realize that, in fact, oneness is not theoretical, but actual. This begs the ultimate question: If our Soul is here to experience itself experiencing oneness through Feeling, Expressing, and Connecting, shouldn’t we allow ourselves to do that more fully? What’s holding us back? For many, lack of courage. Specifically, Soul Courage.

A Phoenix Rising
An excerpt from Homeopathy Plus Whole Body Vibration
by Becky Chambers
24 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
My Purpose Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth. ~Buddha Homeopathy and whole body vibration are forms of energy medi- cine, which are based in profound truths about the nature of the uni- verse. Like the life-giving sun that is always there, shining brightly whether or not there are clouds, these energy medicine methods are a path to true healing, and they will prevail. After searching for forty years, I have found true healing from intractable illness, using the combination of homeopathy and whole body vibration. After trying dozens of therapies, both mainstream and alternative, I found homeopathy twenty-five years ago, and I was impressed from the beginning by its power. Twelve years ago, I began adding whole body vibration to my regimen and once again saw immediate and dramatic results. As I began to understand whole body vibration, to use it properly and in conjunction with homeopathy, my healing accelerated. While there are many books on homeopathy and several on whole body vibration, this is the first book that discusses combining the two. While individually homeopathy and whole body vibration are valuable healing systems, together they are synergistic, igniting a healing fire of epic proportions. Chapter 1 introduces homeopathy, the science and history behind it, and how it is used. Chapter 2 describes whole body vibration, espe- cially as it relates to energy medicine. Four stories of my clients using these methods follow, illustrating how the healing process works. The last chapter is my story. Homeopathy Often maligned and misunderstood, homeopathy actually has a long history of success. It was once so popular in the United States that along with the existence of twenty-plus homeopathic medical schools, eleven American presidents have used it, and a statue of its founder, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, was erected in our nation’s capital.
Homeopathy has been overshadowed by the rise of allopathic drug medicine since the early part of the twentieth century. During that time, the world was giddy with advancements in science and medicine. People believed that a person was cured if their symptoms could be suppressed, even though the source of the disease was still present. Allopathic, drug-oriented medicine, still dominating our medical care, did not acknowledge the interconnectivity of the body and mind as a whole organism, instead treating its parts as if they were separate. In recent years, however, many have seen the limits of Western medicine, often tragically. There is an epidemic of chronic illness in this country that Western medicine cannot cure. Homeopathy and whole body vibration, an intensive body, mind, and spirit therapy, are growing in popularity because they cure the source of the disease and restore balance to the body and mind. Energy medicine is the tuning of a person’s vibration to a higher, more pure frequency. A lifetime of health and personal challenges has shown me that this little-known, often unaddressed phenomenon holds the key to a healthy life. This book explores the use of homeopathy, par- ticularly when used at the same time as whole body vibration. Together they result in an accelerated and effective body, mind, and spirit therapy. With the increasing interest in alternatives to allopathic medicine, and new discoveries in science that have begun to uncover the mystery of how homeopathy works, the time has come for a resurgence of this method of energy healing. Whole Body Vibration Chapter 2 introduces whole body vibration (WBV), a thera-peutic system that is booming worldwide because of its remarkable capacity to enhance health and well-bein; (also see my website, www.BCVibrantHealth.com, and my book Whole Body Vibration: The Future of Good Health). WBV is intense exercise that stimulates both our muscles and our neurons to fire twenty to fifty times per sec- ond. This powerful stimulation of the nervous system causes a surge in 25 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
electromagnetic energy to shoot through our body and into our brain. As energy medicine is based on electromagnetic phenomena, it is not surprising that there would be an interaction vibration and the use of homeopathy. I will also explore cutting-edge research that links brain synchro- nization (the simultaneous in-phase firing of brain cells across regions of the brain) with optimal brain health, including creativity and problem solving, learning, and long-term memory formation. Whole body vibration, like a number of other therapeutic systems that stimulate the neurological system in a particular manner, may help to induce this transformative brain-wave state. Five Stories of True Healing The experiences of four of my clients, and my own experience, demonstrate the power of these two systems of healing. Their stories are typical of many of my clients’ experiences. Stella was being held back in life by a lack of confidence and a poor sense of self-worth. When I met her several years ago, she had recently broken up with an abusive boyfriend and was working hard but living paycheck to paycheck. By the end of her treatment, all areas of her life had shifted 180 degrees. Betty Lou’s story is a touching tale of emotional growth coupled with health improvements in several areas. Marc suffered a brain injury in a car accident when he was only four years old. When I met him, many years later, he was hoping to reduce the medications that controlled the resulting seizures but also had debilitating side effects. Christy is a sensitive woman holding on to pain from experiences earlier in her life. When she met Derek, sparks flew in the eternal search for true love. The fifth case study is my own story, tracing an intensive course of homeopathy that eventually healed a looming major physical disaster before I even realized it was there. I have never heard of anybody else using homeopathy the way I have used it. 26 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
Perhaps I am meant to serve as an illustration of what homeopathy and vibration can accomplish. There is also a saying that applies, “You can only go as high as you have been low.” Homeopathy and vibration help to heal the body as well as the mind. Homeopathic remedies help us let go of negative energy, which affects all aspects of life, and whole body vibration seems to accelerate the process. As a result, long-standing difficult problems suddenly improve, with noticeable change often occurring in just hours.
1 Becky Chambers is a natural health practitioner specializing in the body, mind and spirit therapies of Whole Body Vibration (WBV) and homeopathy. WBV is a revolutionary technology that provides, in 10 minutes, the benefits of an hour of traditional weight-lifting, a massage, reflexology, acupuncture, and a powerful detox. Becky is one of the first and most experienced WBV experts in this booming industry worldwide. She is also the author of this country’s best-selling book on the subject, Whole Body Vibration: The Future of Good Health. In her new book, Homeopathy Plus Whole Body Vibration, Becky introduces her audience to the power of homeopathy, and explores the exciting synergy that ignites healing when these two powerful energy treatment systems are used together.

No Matter What
by Aura Imbarus, Ph.D.

No matter what last year taught me, I have realized that I would not judge my infinite present on the limited belief of yesterday. I have realized that I will not fence-in my boundaries-free-today for a partial perception of a lost and gone time.
No matter what, I believe that if it there is real love, time and space are just our mind’s illusions. So, I started to be and be felt everywhere! No matter what, I am who I am!
No matter how many times I failed, I will not look back at my down moments, but I will smile at my standing up. No matter how anxious I was in the past, if something needed to happen, it actually did! So, now I will let things happen in their time and trust the process. No matter how much I looked for a destination, I realized that it is about the journey after all. And, I also realized that every year is a good year, for it has taught me the idea of growth, faith, and unconditional love. No matter what, I decided to give people second chances but also to close doors that don't take me anywhere anymore. Such a hard task for some of us to say good-bye to the past, but I am getting better at it! No matter how much I want something, I decided to meditate more, open myself up like a flower and let things come to me instead of chasing them. No matter how negative a moment has been, I decided to embrace it and enjoy it like I really wanted it! That has changed my perception of it. No matter what, I realized that whatever is ours is put aside, and nobody can take it from us, except the creator. So, I will look and treasure people for how much they can give and not expect them to change to fit into my world. No matter what, I realized that I belong to this world; I am a citizen of the world, and home can be anywhere. I realized that I have no religion, but I believe in a supreme power, no matter how people label it; I believe in other lives and multiple soul journeys, for one life – one life at the time – we can all remember, but it doesn’t mean that there is all there is out there in an infinite universe.

Nowruz New Day Celebration

Nowruz is the traditional Iranian festival. In harmony with the rebirth of nature, Nowruz always begins on the first day of spring marked by vernal equinox, or Tahvil.
The symbolic dishes consist of:
It is considered as the start of the New Year among Iranians. The name comes from Avestan meaning "new day/daylight". Nowruz is celebrated March 20/21 each year, at the time the sun enters Aries and Spring begins.
2. Samanu is a pudding in which common wheat sprouts are transformed and given new life as a sweet, creamy pudding and represents the ultimate sophistication of Persian cooking.
Nowruz has been celebrated for at least 3,000 years and is deeply rooted in the rituals and traditions of the Zoroastrian religion. Today the festival of Nowruz is celebrated in Iran, Iraq, India, Afghanistan, Tajikestan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. A few days prior to the New Year, a special cover is spread on to the Persian carpet or on a table in every Persian household. This ceremonial table is called cloth of seven dishes, (each one beginning with the Persian letter Sin). The number seven has been sacred in Persia since the ancient times, and the seven dishes stand for the seven angelic heralds of life-rebirth, health, happiness, prosperity, joy, patience, and beauty.
1. Sabzeh or sprouts: Usually wheat or lentil representing rebirth.
3. Seeb means apple and represents health and beauty. 4. Senjed the sweet, dry fruit of the Lotus tree, represents love. It has been said that when lotus tree is in full bloom, its fragrance and fruit make people fall in love and become oblivious to all else. 5. Seer which is garlic in Persian, represents medicine. 6. Somaq sumac berries, represent the color of sunrise; with the appearance of the sun Good conquers Evil. 7. Serkeh or vinegar, represents age and patience. PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT and THE BIG PICTURE DISTRACTION by Michael White Ryan www.languageofspace.com
Whatever the reason, in plain sight it appears the whole world has decided to acknowledge the need for increased personal awareness and fortunately by their own choosing, sort of. Although changes in the universe just may have something to do with it. We as a whole are expanding our beingness through the necessity of wanting and needing with forced choice to be greater than we have ever perceived. This is due to a variety of variable reasons, for the greater good of the planet, to improve business success, and improved personal wellness with an open attachment to mindfulness to name a few. The reasons and circumstances have now become the endless “to-do” list. How many of us when actively placed in silence or when in certain situations, take notice of a singular moment in time when our awareness stepsin and opens us up to a world entirely different to our existing understandings. These moments of silence scream out at us with a deafening roar just how solo a person can be. We come in on our own and leave on our own, or that’s how we used to think once upon a time when taught by educated dummies. No pressure on them as they did not know any better. But now we do, so pucker up kids for the sake of our personal lifestyle and the ways we interact, for those taught patterns of behavior can no longer live. Those hand me downs with their inbuilt failures send them home to the never never!
36 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
These patterns enslaved us unknowingly in complete comfortability, especially in how we showedup in the world. Fortunately our five senses have finally kicked down the door and in a second of courageousness we step into our future promised. It’s even more powerful than our five senses combined could imagine. It’s more like an acute observation of being, which allows us to shift our separation from everything to one of complete connection. This of course can be quite disturbing, especially as we move closer to the concept “everything is connected”. Now that’s a moment!!! How did we miss this fundamental reality? Firstly education taught us to “focus” in order to survive. Find that niche market, specialize in order to succeed, be better than everybody else. Competition gave us the will to remain locked into a mindset of “only the strong will survive”. A mindset that was supposed to die when dinosaurs became extent. We definitely have some catching up (evolving) to do. Then came along the big picture lie with the recession, plus out of the box thinking will supposedly save you from going down with the Titanic. And so 40% of the best companies no longer exist with the educated phrase “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”. Did we ever wonder why the 80% failure rate of startups and small business has remained almost constant for the last 15 years? The visionary mindset is not the mindset of a company CEO, just because it’s your idea/vision doesn’t give you the right to steer the company!!! Personal profiling will become the most important evaluation when hiring and positioning anyone within a company if they wish to survive and be successful in the future. Yes we need intelligence and skills to acquire a position, but once contracted if a person doesn’t have the necessary people skills, they are holding the company back, slowing the company down and reducing productivity. A profile system contrary to many beliefs does not pigeon hole or imprison a person into some permanent category. The positives are enormous in helping a person discover their natural strengths, skills and expectations of their future road blocks and how to overcome them. Anyone saying otherwise is only selling an opinion in order to sell you a product or service. I am often amazed
at the progress speed one makes after the realization of their natural state of who and what their being consists of, as opposed to their self-knowing educated construct. Focus is a single point in front of us. The big picture is a single point in the distance. Peripheral vision functions outside of the central gaze, it’s what we need to examine if the intended aim is for grasping “everything Connected”. When all the world was created, that was the “cause” and the result is the “effect” we, every single human, tree, animal, cosmos and all never ending futures, are contained in the “effect”. We were born everything connected, we will always be everything connected. It is the way of reality!!!

The Universe is Waiting for Our Command by Frank Daly
38 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e February 2016
The universe operates through vibrational communication and our function is to tell it what we would like to experience. When we move in the direction of preferential experiences, things that hold our excitement, the universe will, without fail support us in every way possible. Every waking moment of our lives we are sending vibrational frequencies out to the universe and in return the universe reciprocates in equal value to our frequency. We are often told that life can be easier and we get excited when we read books such as The Secret that show how the universe is designed to support us with ease. But where it seems to get convoluted is when after we become excited we try to logically figure out how we are going to achieve the thing we desire. This is the point of the breakdown. Trying to figure out how is literally like putting the carriage in front of the horse, we know how well that would work just by the simple understanding of physics. When we step back and observe what is really happening we will see at the point of excitement is were every bit of information is revealed to direct us on the journey towards our desire. If we follow each bit of information it will automatically present us with the next bit in perfect harmony with our own individual needs. Another way to better understand it is just look at a GPS, it knows exactly where we are and where we are going and offers up the information exactly at the right time, so excitement doesn’t originate from the destination of the desire, rather excitement is the birth of desire and the destination helps to perpetuate the excitement creating a self sustainable experience. As we investigate this for ourselves we will discover how much power we really possess. We live in a time where science, math, and theology support these findings so we must choose whatever process we desire and know our excitement for this discovery will present the right path for us to explore this wonderful universe we inhabit. Create a space in your mind and imagine something that would create excitement in your day. If there is nothing in your reality to focus on and
raise your vibration it becomes necessary to activate the power of imagination. For example, imagine yourself winning the lottery enabling you to live the life you desire from a financial standpoint. Consider the details of how would this affect your daily life and that of the people you love. With that feeling the seed of desire is planted. It is the feeling you want to focus on, not the external circumstances that created the feeling. Drop all expectations of how you will arrive at this place of abundance and only focus on the excitement generated from the thought. That feeling will then open up the synchronistic avenues of opportunities and if you simply act on each opportunity you will be led in a perpetual motion of ease until you find that which you desire manifested in your reality. Most of us do not trust our ability to navigate towards our desires. We receive an impulse generated from excitement which supplies a direction and then we question it. It would be equivalent of a GPS telling us to make a right and we make a right but not fully trusting it we pull the vehicle over after making the right and after a few minutes wonder why the GPS is not indicating more information. However, if we imply continued on the path we would come to the place where it is time to make the next turn and only then would that turn be revealed. The universe not only knows where we are and our desired destination it also knows the vehicle we are using for our travel. Let’s enjoy the ease of this experience. Science, Religion & Psychology by Richard Barrett
41 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
Over the past three centuries, in addition to the fragmentation of main stream religions, two new sources of cosmological stories have appeared— the science of matter (physics, chemistry and biology), which deals with the physical external world, and the science of mind (the different disciplines of psychology) which deals with our internal mental world. The science of matter is extremely seductive as a model of reality because it explains the operation of the physical laws of cause and effect. Science delights in giving us rules that lend credence to our belief systems about how our three-dimensional physical world operates. We tend to believe what science tells us, because through the power of pure and applied mathematics, science enables us to make predictions about the physical outcomes of events. For this reason, science has become universally accepted. However, the domains to which the laws of science apply are limited, First, science deals almost exclusively with the physical world. Science, has been unwilling or unable to address the inner world of belief, emotion and thought, and has ventured no explanations of paranormal or meta-physical experiences. In short, science does not serve us well in our inquiries into the nonphysical nature of the universe or of the mind. Science, as it has been practiced to-date, has largely ignored the role of consciousness, even though the influence of the beliefs of an observer is fundamental to quantum theory, and offers no explanations on how consciousness works. Second, science focuses on linear systems. It reduces life’s processes to their smallest parts and then extrapolates the conclusions it reaches through reductionism to explain the larger world. This linear thinking ignores the chaos of life and the spontaneity of organic systems. The holistic approach that considers the body, mind and soul as a functioning interactive system, is an anathema to scientists. Despite these limitations, science has served us well. It has enabled us to understand a great deal about our physical environment and how our bodies work. Up until the beginning of the eighteenth century, 42 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
science was not taught in any European school or college. Science as a discipline or thought system did not exist. This was because of the tight grip the Catholic Church had over the belief systems of the Western world. From around 400 A.D. to the beginning of the eighteenth century, every unexplainable aspect of our lives was subject to a “religious” explanation. Access to God was controlled completely by the Catholic clergy. The Pope was so powerful it was believed that he could condemn a man to eternal damnation through excommunication from the Catholic Church. Immortality could only be assured by following Catholic teachings. Because of their authority and power, religious leaders held great sway. Kings, queens and political leaders treated their spiritual intermediaries with high regard and a great deal of caution. Mankind was dependent on its religious leaders to explain disasters, cure its sicknesses and take care of its soul. This period, which was characterized by intolerance to any belief systems other than those of the Catholic Church, came to an end in the seventeenth century. Any belief not sanctified by the Church was considered heresy and other religions were regarded as heathen. The Catholic Church ruled Western belief systems absolutely. It was not surprising therefore that free thinkers, such as Martin Luther, met with huge resistance when they contested the spiritual and pastoral guidance of the Catholic Church. The Church’s intermediacy to obtain God’s forgiveness was challenged. The belief that God’s forgiveness could be obtained freely and individually, without a priest acting as an intermediary, led to the reformation of Christianity and eventually to the ascendance of science as alternative belief system. The conflict between science and the Church began in the field of astronomy. In 1543, Nicolaus Copernicus, a Polish canon of the Church, proposed that a rotating earth revolving around a stationary central sun could account, in far simpler way, for the movement of the heavens than the theory of a central Earth, which was espoused by the Church. Copernicus’ theory,
which a radical reordering of beliefs about the nature of the universe, was later developed by Galileo in 1632. These ideas generated violent opposition in the Catholic Church: they were regarded as heresy, because they were considered to be in direct contradiction to the accepted interpretation of the Bible. Because of his support for Copernicus’ theory, Galileo was sentenced to prison in 1633 for promoting his contradictory beliefs. His sentence was later commuted to house arrest. Amazingly, it took 359 years for the Catholic Church to admit it had made a mistake in condemning Galileo. A commission of inquiry ruled in 1992 that the clerics who had judged Galileo were unable to comprehend a non-literal reading of the Bible and had feared that Galileo’s teachings would undermine Catholic tradition. The development of the new astronomy was also taken up by Johannes Kepler, who was a mathematician to the Holy Roman Emperor, Rudolf II, early in the seventeenth century. He developed mathematical relationships to expand and explain the astronomy of Copernicus. Through these men of science, and others such as William Harvey and Isaac Newton, the Church’s grip on our belief systems started to erode. Science began to be taught in universities around 1700. The physical environment became the domain of the scientist. The Church found itself restricted to the domain of the soul. The 1,200-year domination of the belief systems in Europe by the Catholic Church came to an end. As scientists and explorers showed the fallacy of many of the religious interpretations of our physical environment, physicists and biologists gradually moved to the front ranks in the march for truth. Science took upon itself the quest of determining the how, the where and the when of our physical existence. However, the why proved to be more elusive. By limiting the why to the human mind, the “science” of psychology was created. Prior to modern times the why was the subject of religious interpretations. Although psychology is called the science of the
mind, the founders of psychology did not have such a limited view. They took the name for this new discipline from the word “psyche” meaning soul. In reality, most psychologists and psychiatrists have little concern for the souls of their patients or even their own souls. Their main focus is on helping their patients cope with crises and dysfunctions in their everyday lives. These dysfunctions are mostly related to subconscious fearbased beliefs developed by the ego early in our lives. Thus, in the past few centuries we have moved from a religious explanation of humankind and our environment to a tripartite model—the physical being explained by science, the mental being explained by psychology, and the spiritual being explained by religion. We find ourselves in a situation where three different areas of knowledge are required to explain the experiences of our bodies, minds and souls. Depending on the nature of the problem we encounter, we rely on one of these three belief systems to offer an explanation. If our body gets sick or our car breaks down, we rely on science to explain what happened. If we are involved in a dysfunctional relationship or are experiencing depression, we seek help from a psychiatrist or psychologist. If a loved one dies or becomes significantly handicapped, we turn to religion and spirituality for comfort and understanding. One of the major problems with our three belief systems is that certain phenomenon and experiences lie outside the boundaries of our current state of knowledge. For example, miracles can neither be explained by science nor religion; synchronicity can neither be explained by psychology nor science; and spirituality lies outside the belief systems of main stream religions and psychology. In addition, the topic of metaphysicsii lies outside all three belief systems. This fragmentation of our belief systems leaves the average person at a disadvantage because his or her accumulated knowledge in any one of these three areas cannot match that of the specialists working in these fields. However, this disadvantage is not that great because the specialists 43 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
wrapped up in deepening the beliefs in their own domains that their knowledge of other domains remains underdeveloped. Scientists are at a loss to interpret religion, priests know little about psychology, and psychologists cannot explain science. Therefore, we live in a situation where both the uninitiated and the specialists alike lack the knowledge necessary to bring science, religion and psychology together into a holistic framework. Because of the influence of science, our modern world has accepted fragmentation as a reality. As a consequence we have handed over responsibility for understanding our universe, our lives and our bodies to “experts. We have given up trying to find answers on our own. We have delegated the responsibility for our well-being to doctors, priests and therapists. Only when we face life-threatening situations, do we turn to a personal God. It is as if deep down we know that beyond all fragmented knowledge lies a single cause. Only when we are desperate to find meaning do we turn to a belief system that has transcended time—a belief in a higher power that has dominion over life and death. Within this last century, there has been an increasing trend for specialists to relate their knowledge to other fields. There are psychologists, particularly those who embrace transpersonal theories, who are attempting to bring human mental states within a spiritual perspective. There are scientists, particularly those that embrace the ideas of modern physics, who are attempting to link science with God and the concept of unity. And, there are physicians who recognize the power of the mind over our physical bodies. But, there are very few experts who are concerned with unifying psychology, religion and science. This lacuna is strange because the latest evidence from all three realms of inquiry points in the direction of a single model. It is becoming increasingly apparent that there is an explanation of our threedimensional reality that embraces not only psychology, religion and science, but also metaphysics and mysticism. To reach this explanation you have to ascend or descend, depending on your point of view, to the world of the fourth dimension of reality.
44 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
All these facts beg the question: Why are attempts to develop a more holistic model so rare? I believe the main cause is the total acceptance of the reductionist approach to research and learning. The structure of our learning institutions is such that research incentives favor vertical rather than lateral thinking. Anyone wishing to undertake holistic or integral research must overcome institutional, academic and funding barriers. But it is exactly this type of research and learning that is now needed. We can no longer afford to ignore the significant interrelationships that exist between the different bodies of knowledge that make up our belief systems. We need to make a shift from the reductionist approach to an integral or holistic approach.

Escape the Matrix By Edwin Harkness Spina
The Matrix was one of the most popular and thought-provoking movies of all time. Viewers all over the world were captivated by the film's primary message: People get into deep trouble when they mistake what they perceive for reality. What most viewers do not realize is that prior to the release of this groundbreaking film, western intelligence agencies were already using the term "the Matrix" to describe today's world. This was in contrast to their work with remote viewers, who would "escape the matrix" to gather intelligence. Art truly does imitate life. In the movie, the Matrix is an elaborate Artificial Intelligence computer simulation that's so captivating that people mistake it for reality. People perceive they are walking about and interacting with others, but their physical bodies are actually submerged in fluid-filled pods, "plugged into" the Matrix, while their vital life force is harnessed to power the Matrix. After Neo (Keanu Reaves) learns the truth, with the help of Morpheus's (Lawrence Fishburne) training, he is able to overcome his misconception that the Matrix is reality. Neo rebels against the machines that create his false reality and, eventually, he escapes the limitations of the Matrix. To others, he has developed superhuman abilities, but, "in reality," he has merely recognized the truth.
Escaping the Matrix is a metaphor for the mystic path to enlightenment. The Matrix can be defined as the world that we perceive, which includes the physical world, as well as higher planes of emotions and thoughts, which also affect us. Within the Matrix, are countless fear-based thoughts and emotions that condition us to accept limitations. We are taught that we have little power, and what little power we do have, we are advised to delegate to authority figures and experts. Swimming in a sea of negative thoughts, we are prompted to use our creative ability to imagine even more negative thoughts. Without introspection, the Matrix gets darker and more dense. Anyone who blindly accepts these prevalent, negative thoughts will have his or her life path dictated by the Matrix. But those who recognize that it is our collective thoughts and beliefs that power the Matrix will recognize the way out. When we incarnate on earth, we temporarily forget the higher truth of who we are. Our life mission is to remember, to connect with our innermost self, so that we may transcend the Matrix.
47 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
The reality we perceive with our senses is not the true reality, but merely a small portion of reality, masquerading as the whole. But, unlike the “alternate reality” that Neo must extricate himself from, in our “reality,” there is no need to rebel. Rather, our goal should be to transcend. We want to “be in this world, but not of it.” The outer world is a reflection of our inner thoughts and beliefs, whether individual or collective, which have been conditioned by our experience in the Matrix. Consequently, the Matrix is a learning environment, where we get feedback on how our thoughts manifest. Thankfully, our negative thoughts do not (typically) manifest instantaneously. Otherwise, we would risk the spontaneous destruction of our world by thinking negative thoughts. Clearing yourself of negative energies through daily meditation can provide a direct link to the “ultimate reality,” i.e., the pure consciousness residing within each of us. As your negative beliefs are purified through regular contact with the “light” of your divine nature, unhealthy emotions, such as fear and anger, will naturally begin to diminish, and you’ll be free to transcend to higher states of consciousness. You will “download” more of your own true self, while simultaneously and automatically attracting others of similar vibration. Your world will become more synchronistic. You will repel angry, fearful people, and those who stick around will become calmer and more centered. You will radiate love. By simply being in higher consciousness, you will have a greater effect on the world than the most gifted orators and political leaders. The higher your consciousness and energy are vibrating, the faster your thoughts will manifest. When you align with your innermost self, you are aligned more closely with the Source of all creation. At the apex of your individual consciousness, you are connected with The One. You then have at your disposal the entire universe to help you manifest the highest good for all. In actuality, we are single points of awareness in the Oneness that is Reality. What we interpret as the physical world is the projection of this awareness,
48 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
which is taking place in the Mind of God. We are, as Shakespeare pointed out, merely “actors” in a divine play. When we wake up to this knowledge, the play does not stop. We are free to act or interact, in bliss and peace, unattached to the Matrix. We have within us the power to create “heaven on earth.” In the past several newsletters, I have described various methods you can use to release fear, eliminate anger, dis-identify with your emotions, take back your power, listen to your inner master, and be yourself. The goal of all of these exercises is the same: to help you escape the Matrix. To prepare for your escape, please visit: Energy Center Clearing.

Dawna Lee Heising Interviews Ron Becks
Noted actress Dawna Lee Heising recently interviewed actor Ron Becks about his starring role in the much anticipated "Hunter: Future Cop," which was directed by multi award-winning filmmaker Gregory Hatanaka. Ron also spoke about his other film, "Las Vegas Vietnam," which he also directed. "Ron has a wonderful personality and is incredibly charismatic. He is so funny and knows so much about filmmaking and I think that it resulted in a very interesting interview. I can't wait to work with him on his next film," said Dawna. Becks is the writer-producer and star of Hunter where he plays the title role of Lt. Ramsey Hunter. Hunter's life changes drastically when several cases hit him simultaneously. In no time, our hero has to contend with a rogue cop killer, a beautiful Southern runaway serial killer and his corrupt police captain boss blackmailing him. But only one of the cases leads him to an ending of universal truth. Mystical Cop. Deadly Force. Champion of People. Beck’s Hunter is all that and more in this moving thriller that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. Hunter has a quick draw and a heart of gold. And not to mention, he’s an excellent trumpet player! Becks stars opposite budding executive producer and co-star Salih Mayi, Laurene Landon (Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance), Kristine DeBell (The Big Brawl), George Lazenby (On Her Majesty's Secret Service), Magda Marcella (Blue Dream), and Nicole D’Angelo (Darling Nikki). "Making Hunter was such a treat as I worked with a talented veteran cast such as Ron Becks, GeorgeLazenby, Kristine DeBell and Laurene Landon who really helped to bring this retro 70's cop thriller to the silver screen," said Hatanaka. “Hunter is not your typical cop and robbers movie, because it’s more about our inner journeys in that at some point in our lives we are ruled by self doubt and self made demons, so it’s all about finding the hero in you,” said a philosophical Becks. As you may be aware there arises many times a questioning of what is real and what is not. Your minds are sorting out new pathways of discovery. Perhaps you are pondering in quiet moments of reflection about yourself, your life, and why you are living as you are. Indeed it is a time of searching for answers. It is a time of questioning what is and what might be more to your liking. As you search for answers, let me share with you a jewel that will open many doors, leading you to the wisdom which you long to know. This jewel is acceptance. Now you may be wondering how can this be? What can acceptance offer to me? When you choose to accept a situation as it is, this brings you into the present moment. Within the present moment, you will find yourself in sweet stillness, free of conflict. Within this peaceful place, you will be able to become aware of the answers to whatever queries you may have. Acceptance is like a door, allowing you to reach into that moment of now. When consciously in the present moment, you can hear the sweet whispers of the heart, leading you to the wisdom, to the answers which you seek. Be prepared for magic in your life as you mas54 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
ter this simple step. Acceptance brings peace, allowing you to have greater clarity. With clarity, the vision of what is possible will become known to you. Acceptance also paves the way for a release of the energies of resistance. You have been living in a world of duality, where resistance is a constant way of being. Now in this time of great change, the choice of your heart is peace, to live a life free of struggle, suffering, poverty and disease. When you learn to accept, to be in the present moment and ponder new choices, you will find it easier to be able to let go of the resistance, to the old ways of being, the old stories. This release allows you to more freely move into greater peace and clarity. As you reach higher levels of peace and clarity, your consciousness rises up to align more fully with higher vibrations and frequencies of thoughts. As this happens you can hear, let us call them, the higher thought forms, new ideas and visions of how to be and live. Becoming aware of these higher thoughts opens you to the possibility of accessing new information. When you are ready to accept the wisdom of these higher thoughts, it will become easier for you to make choices which support you in what you would like to experience in your life. This will allow you to be and know the lighter energies of harmony, peace, joy and an abundance of what you would truly desire to experience. There is a treasure chest of knowledge deep within your heart. All truth lies within. Being able to access these truths is part of your mastery path. As you become more proficient in developing this ability, you will find your life experiences unfold in a magical way.
Acceptance of truth as it becomes known to you, will also help you to more easily let go of the old stories, the past experiences, which have perhaps reflected a vision of lesser value of who you really are and what you are capable of accomplishing. You might ask how can I become more accepting and utilize this principle to help me reach my heart’s desires. I recommend that you begin by spending some time in focused intention on the principle of acceptance, free of judgements of lesser value. Accepting what is, does not mean that you are going to continue to live with what is reflected as less than you desire, it means accepting the reality as it is, to release the resistance. Then you are able to focus on allowing yourself to develop a new reality that is more to your liking. A simple way to begin is to place your hand on your heart and focus on breathing into your heart, taking some slow relaxed deep breaths. Allow yourself to accept the flow within the present moment, quieting the mind. Now ask yourself, how may I be more accepting of truth, peace, love and joy? Then listen for the sweet whispers as they flow to you. Be open to receive and allow yourself this great blessing of loving communication. Know that I will assist you to feel this sacred connection to your heart.
This is your time to shine, My Beloveds, to know your sweetness and to live your many dreams held within your heart. Enjoy the process of remembering, for this journey is a priceless gift which you will treasure always. With great love, Your Beloved Mother

ZERO DEGREES OF SEPARATION by Rashmi Khilnani
“There is no separation between an ant, an archangel,a planet, a stone, a star, a universe, or anything for that matter. Thank you Buddhaji, I am certainly going into states of no-mind most effortlessly through the powerful resonance of the energy of silence induced in me from the eloquence of your words of wisdom. My beloved friend Michael has indeed taught me or, shall we say re-reminded me in this lifetime, of the wisdom to discriminate between absolute and relative reality, and of the importance of mindfulness on the spiritual path. He is particularly good at reinstating the energy of divine balance within my beingness when, from time to time, I go off balance or too much to one extreme in my passionate, tempestuous moods. This balance is crucial in my work of facilitating the raising of consciousness for my fellow brothers and sisters. He is a master at being able to point out to me the times when my ego/ personality self camouflages itself as coming from a place of unconditional love and spiritual integrity. As a teacher myself, I know my greatest role is to keep cleaning my electromagnetic mirror so I can reflect the divine self within me clearly for myself and others. I am at most times able to reflect the patterns of my students’ issues back to them so that they can begin to unravel unconscious processes and commence to choose from a place of conscious co-creation. I find it very challenging that many healers and on a spiritual path are still choosing to give away their power and to be ruled very often by authority outside of themselves, or they get carried away by words, outer appearances, titles of fame, name and power. To me a teacher is like a ladder and may help to facilitate the journey, but the clinging to the ladder becomes ugly and undesirable if it continues to take away one’s inner integrity and free will. I feel that in spite of all the amazing stepping up of energy on the planet that 9 out of 10 individuals are still sort of hoping that some teacher, partner, archangel, or their idea of god/goddess is going to take them from unconsciousness to consciousness; from limitation to individual supremacy of one’s integrity of soul. Could you
please help me and humanity now on this subject? Dear ones, you are not separate from your teachers or Buddha or Jesus or an archangel, or for that matter the so-called devil. You are all that is. There is only the oneness. You are the snake and the ladder. You are the trees, the sky, and the multiverses. All that you are is not outside of yourself, though that is how you see it as It projects itself on the screen of your life. All that is, is all that you are and this is-ness is within you. This you have forgotten. Ultimately, I will repeat one more time: There is no separation between an ant, an archangel, a planet, a stone, a star, a universe, or anything for that matter. This separation appears to occur within the 3dimensional reality or frequency. Through meditation you come to the place within, which is all one, which is silent, which is beyond the separation of 3D reality, which is supreme peace. In states of deep sleep also, the world disappears. So as you know, it is all right to play the relative game and to even enjoy the illusion of separation, as long as you are strongly centered in the supreme oneness of all things, people, places, events, and ideologies beyond time and space. The gold that is used to make a goblet, a king’s throne, and goddess jewelry is the same energy of gold that only takes on different forms and shapes and becomes separate. when you melt it down, it again becomes its intrinsic self a river of gold. Similarly, when the self reflects upon itself, all subjects and objects disappear and the self merges back into its original nature which is the unified field of non-separation, of supreme being, of pure beingness here now. Rashmiji, you know very well that at most times you are not a teacher, you are not a follower, and that no-one is teaching and nothing is happening. 57 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
Because you and Michael understand this so well on the deepest levels, you are able to facilitate the journey of others to this under- standing of supreme reality, what Jesus called Christ Consciousness. I called it Maha Mudra and Krishna called it love, and Lord Shiva called it Maha Samadi. “All that is” may have many flavors, many colors, many names but ultimately all individuality flows back as myriad rivers to the ocean of oneness, the unity of verse—the Universe. Dear Rashmiji, you can let go of moments of frustration and impatience, which come to an old soul from time to time, when dealing with immature or younger souls, for you know in your deepest heart that all the mangoes on the tree will ripen in their own time and that all souls age and ultimately merge into the oneness. You also know, dear one, that everyone is already enlightened; they have but forgotten in many cases, and that the energies of higher consciousness are here now to facilitate and inspire mankind to move from darkness to light. You also know very well, Rashmiji, that ultimately whether one is an old soul or a young soul, one is equal. It is just that the perception of reality changes, depending on the number of lifetimes expe- rienced and the quotient of light embodied by the individual soul from lifetime to lifetime on the journey of infinite reality. On the subject of coming from darkness to light, you are all beginning to realize the importance of embracing and acknowledging the shadow or the dark. You are also beginning to realize that this shadow and darkness exist within each being and not outside of oneself. It appears to be happening on the outside, on the screen of one’s life, but its root is always within. It is fitting for a large light to cast a large shadow. In fact, within 3D reality, there is no question of the light not casting a shadow, and as we have said before, the shadow is not real. The fear, doubt, and ignorance are ultimately not real, and we can transmute these energies easily through embracing them, accepting them and allowing them into the lightness of our being. The first 58 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
step in converting our poisons into honey is the acknowledgement of the poison. Suppression, repression, denial, and a continuous choosing to be unconscious will lead to making the shadow bigger and bigger and result in an experiential feeling that it is very real, overwhelming, and in control. This is the poison. what are you going to choose? Herein lies the answer, Rashmi, to the question of being challenged by others not following an impeccability of thought, word, and deed: 1. Continue to practice patience. 2. Step up the practice of tolerance. 3. Allow yourself now to become a beautiful, cotton-candy-pink, thousand-petal lotus of compassion, of thought, word and deed. Yes, yes, Rashmiji, I know you practice these energies and that they have become a large part of your energy field, but I encourage you to take this one last deep step, encapsulating the three above- mentioned gunas, to the final sceneself realization. As human beings master the integration of these energies of compassion, toler- ance and patience and make them a full-time part of their reality, even when most challenged, they move gracefully towards enlightenment. (Laughing) I can see why I am being asked to channel this book in this wondrous moment of now. I am feeling very high, very enlightened and illuminated in spite of all the uncertainty that I constantly embrace from flinging myself off cliff after cliff (of clinging and security) to adventures unknown. I understand now that you are making it so clear this distinction between “the known, the unknown, and the unknowable.” It reminds me of the joke in Peter Seller’s film The Party, where he plays an Indian actor who says, “In India, we do not think who we are, we know who we are.” (I wish this was true!) I am orchestrating a grand reunion of my larger-than-life, challeng- ing family in New Delhi
Since the sad passing away of my father more than twenty years ago, we have not actually met as a whole family unit. I can see how channeling this sacred work is waking me up to the highest frequencies of forgiveness and compassion. This shall help me greatly in my almost impossibly challenging trip to Mother India. Thank you, thank you, Lord Buddha, Babaji, Kwan Yin, Jesus, and all the ascended master teachers. we bow to the light of you dear ones, the courage of human beings here now, and it is our honor and pleasure to be of assistance, and as you know ultimately there is no you and there is no us. we are but shining examples of the true nature of your beingness. we are here to help you to re-remember this true nature. we are one. Every time you as humanity forget to practice the inner fragrance of oneness beyond outer differences and individuality, Take a deep breath. Forgive yourself. Feel where the energy is going. Allow your higher self to show you the reality of the moment. You might see that it is your mind, your ego, your heart, your fear, or your soul energy being in charge in that moment. Usually when you are feeling out of control, or feeling a lot of fear, or feeling a need to control, it is the energy of separation as opposed to the energy of oneness within you that is ruling at the moment. As you know dear ones, a large function of the ego is to fight vigorously for superiority, for power, for separation and control, and to make something wrong and in conflict with making something right. when this happens, Allow yourself to become aware it is happening. Laugh at yourself in a gentle and compassionate way. Take a moment and allow yourself to come back into the supremacy of unity awareness, silence and the energy of your wisdom. Just to re-remind you, each time I mention silence, I mean the energy of silence, which can exist with-
in words, and sometimes this energy does not exist even though you are not actually speaking. May Grace Be with You, Dear Ones.

What is
Enlightenment
and How Do You Achieve It? By Russell Symonds
Ever since I had known about Paramhansa Yogananda, I have always longed to be “enlightened.” By “enlightenment” I do not mean in the usual intellectual sense, but as a state of “yoga” or union with one’s higher Self, which is very much in tune with the truth and with the manifested creation we all dwell in. The kind of enlightenment I am writing about is a permanent happiness and fulfillment above and beyond the trials and tribulations of worldly existence. Enlightenment is a freedom from addiction and the enjoyment of a kind of emotional independence or nearly perfect maturity. I am not saying or implying that I am enlightened as a “Buddha” or “Krishna” would be. I am
60 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
far from perfect, and if I was perfect, why would I even bother aspiring to anything? However, I have been very interested in the subject for many, many years, and no doubt learned much about the higher yogas and everything that the task of achieving enlightenment implies in all my own serious and sincere “trial and error” attempts. I have fasted for days, lived on 100% raw food diets, been on long mountain retreats with dozens of other yogis, meditated the entire night until dawn outside in the cold non-stop, done yoga postures until I felt like a pretzel, been initiated by gurus into complex yogic exercises and various forms of meditation, and tried celibacy for as long as I could stand it.

So it seems very, very difficult at times, having to seemingly go against one’s very own instincts, and practice hours and hours of sadhanna (yoga and meditation) every day which seemed to use up much more than just my spare time! No matter how hard I tried, no matter how much self-discipline I had, no matter how determined, I simply could not get anywhere. In fact, the only thing that changed was that my anxiety and depression (unfortunate tendencies of mine) gradually got worse! In the end I simply became too tired to do anything! I had to quit, otherwise there would not even be any time or energy left over for basic survival activities! I really had to redefine where I was coming from, why I wanted “enlightenment” so badly and what it really meant to be “enlightened.” I was coming from a state of desperate longing and a basic discontentment with my life and physical or earthly surroundings. I felt very limited, restricted by time, short on money, and especially limited by my body’s needs and by my 100% frustrated emotional and psychological needs. It felt like I was an unwilling victim of life, and I often truly regretted being born into this side of “hell” where life on Earth definitely seemed to be at times. “Enlightenment” as far as I was concerned, meant to be a way out of the drudgery and pain of physical existence or at least a novel perspective on life that would help me see things in a new light and gain answers to the numerous serous problems that had plagued me for years and made my life miserable. “Enlightenment” also meant having a lasting and reliable source of inner joy, bliss, guidance and love. I longed for a personal relationship with the Divine. I longed to find out whether Paramhansa Yogananda’s “Divine Mother” really existed or not. Is there a part of ourselves that is immortal? Is there a life after death, and if so what it is like? It has turned out that the kind of “enlightenment” I have been longing for requires far more elements that I ever imagined and its require-
62 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
ments far more complicated than I ever dreamed. Therefore I experimented with all that I learned and picked up from various sources, personal experiences, teachers, books, etc. I decided to start a journal and write down all I could regarding those aspects of yoga and meditation that worked for me. I even invented new ideas, ideals and techniques that seemed to finally provide some answers. What I have learned so far includes the following very important principles: 1) Cultivation and redirection of sexual desire, and the expansion of sexual energy into absolute bliss, joy, inspiration and love. I have never been able to get anywhere without some form of celibacy! However simply stopping up all one’s physical cravings would do more harm than good. One must carefully redirect the sexual energy upward through the spinal centers into an expanded bliss using adaptogenic herbs, short water fasts, infusion of body cells with prana (life force energy), and be sure one is eating at least one, complete, whole meal every day, otherwise this delicate process could get disrupted. 2) The diet and supplements taken must be perfect for the person. In order to succeed at yoga, one’s metabolism must be optimized and balanced perfectly. The right supplements, the right herbs, the right food, and the right amount of daily water fasting, must be included every day so that when one sits down or simply pauses, one should feel absolutely relaxed and content. This “pleasant state” is absolutely essential just to begin yoga. 3) Don’t go vegetarian if your metabolism can’t handle it. Vegetarianism works fine for most yogis, however some still need to include “meat” such as sardines, salmon, turkey, and chicken, otherwise there could be some difficulties in many areas of one’s life. Avoid red meat (pork, lamb, beef...) if possible.
4) Always include many raw nuts and seed such as almonds, pecans, peanuts, sunflower, sesame and pumpkin seed; and enjoy plenty of raw fruits and vegetables, raw sauerkraut, vegetable juices, rice and beans, etc. Avoid cheese, fried food, bread, sweet desserts, dried fruit, or any flower products, because at best, these foods only take up room for more biologically valuable food, and at worse, can drain vital energy and lead to illness.
8) Drink loads of fresh (preferably ionized or alkalized) water between meals instead of snacking. Exercise regularly in an external, natural environment with intent to absorb as much prana as possible into every cell of the body. Also bathe or shower regularly to keep the skin pores open to finer energy, and try to wear only clean clothes everyday because old particles tend to block the absorption and enjoyment of prana.
5) Know for sure that there is life after death and that the spirit is a real entity. Just having no doubt whatsoever about the reality of Spirit and that there is a universal, eternal justice changes everything in the way one feels, acts and behaves toward life. Life no longer seems like an utterly unfair and nonsensical “hell” but is rather an opportunity to learn from mistakes and grow toward becoming a finer and finer human being.
“Enlightenment, “ as you can tell, is anything but simple to accomplish, but well worth all the trouble and difficulty once achieved. There are no shortcuts, however it is possible to discover and use more effective and direct methods. I follow all of the above steps and as a result am enjoying a lifestyle very similar to one who is considered “enlightened.” However, I still am far from perfect, and have much more to accomplish. Discovery and growth is what makes life so exciting.
6) Know without a shadow of a doubt the oneness of all life! There is only one consciousness or one observer who lives in all sentient beings. One can love others unconditionally (very important), because one now knows that all people everywhere are simply aspects of one great Soul, which means one will have to experience eventually everything one does to another person. “Enlightenment” consists mainly of a constant state of unconditional love. 7) Meditate regularly by focusing all one’s attention at one spot one inch inside the forehead (third eye) or heart center in middle of chest. Also learn how to deep relax and at least visualize the self leaving the physical body behind. Astral projection provides first hand proof that one is not the body. The body is only a physical vehicle to get around in and the physical brain is needed for the interpretation of all events within the physical dimensions of time and space. One’s true nature is space, ecstasy, love, and knowledge all embedded within a unified, but location-free, “quantum” consciousness. Identify with consciousness instead of the physical body.

An Excerpt from A Journey to Oneness
64 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
There comes a moment, in the midst of a spiritual journey, when something simply shifts. In that indescribable instant, there is the stunning realization that all the books, all the workshops, all the mind-stretching spiritual understandings, gathered up in your travels like a wildflower bouquet, can take you just so far. And no further. You “get it!” All that remains—is to actually experience it. Then, a magical moment arrives, unannounced. In the space of a heartbeat, it catapults you from the realm of believing—to a place of knowing.
Embracing the Experience of Oneness By Rasha
In that moment, your awareness shifts—ever so smoothly—to an entirely different octave of Self-perception. Often, a deep inner-glow begins to build in your heart center. A smile you can’t hold back creeps across your face. Tears well up. You surrender all sense of separateness and allow yourself to melt into the embrace of something absolutely indescribable. You aren’t dreaming. You haven’t imagined it. You’re looking out through the eyes of Oneness. Yet, the incredible thing is—it’s still you! Just not the you you’ve spent a lifetime believing was the whole picture. You “get it!” Without a single word spoken. This is a glimpse of the experience of Oneness—the Divinity we all share—explored in the new book, A Journey to Oneness, by Rasha. It’s a spiritual destination, as unique to each of us as a fingerprint, waiting to be discovered— each in our own way. In A Journey to Oneness—the long-awaited sequel to the underground spiritual classic, Oneness—Rasha takes us along on a seven-year odyssey through the maze of consciousness, as she shares the incredible story of her own spiritual journey. With the profound, transcribed guidance of Oneness (the Divine Presence often referred to as “God”) to light the way, A Journey to Oneness takes us for an authentic ride on the roller-coaster of spiritual transformation.
65 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
This vivid, literary tapestry chronicles a mind's probing questions about what is actually happening as it slowly unravels and shifts into a higher octave of perception—documents the astounding answers as they emerge from within—and weaves it all seamlessly with the poetry and rapture of Divine Union. As Oneness helps Rasha circumnavigate the potholes along the road to “freedom,” the reader is given a vibrant new vision of the nature of humanness, and in-depth guide to discovering the Divinity within. Oneness speaks: The Journey to God-Realization “There are no definitive calibrations within which God-Realization may be measured and categorized. Such categorization stems purely from the quest of the ego self of those who have strived, throughout history, for the attainment of what has come to be termed “enlightenment.” These structures and delineations are man-made, based on an analysis of the actual experiences of those who have tasted Divine connectedness—primarily by those who have spent their lives in search of it. Most of what has come to be considered gospel on the subject of enlightenment has been structured by those who have attempted to attain a mentalized grasp of what they did not know how to approach in any other way. God-Realization is not a mental process. It is a surrendering of heart and soul. It is a relinquishing of all the trappings of identity. It is an embracing of the Essence of Love itself that radiates from within the core essence of every expression of Life— throughout All Creation. When one has made the shift into God connectedness, there is no need to verify it—for it is unquestionable. There is no need to weigh it on a scale of attainment, relative to the experiences of others, for each sacred journey is unique. None is higher or lower than another. Each experience simply Is. The Realization experiences of some are punctuated with dramatic visual phenomena. Others simply experience an indisputable knowingness of the attainment of Divine Presence, unaccompanied by changes in visual perception. What unites the experiences of all who have made the Journey to GodRealization is the undeniable sense of inner peace,
66 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e March 2016
and the sublime sensations of bliss that accompany the attainment. Expanding the perception of Self-Realization One is then able to escalate one’s perceptions of that state of Beingness through the focus of attention in deep states of meditation. It is in those heightened states of Divine connectedness that one is able to actually merge one’s awareness of Self with that of the Absolute, of which one is a part, and to know oneSelf to Be That. In that state of consummate surrender, the Realized Self is absorbed into the Totality and ceases to perceive itself at all. These states of ultimate surrender are not permanent states of being. They are experiential plateaus of Awareness that can be visited, and in retrospect, remembered. In the moment, as the experience itself unfolds, there is no perception of Self at all. One simply Is. These are momentary glimpses into the realm of Ultimate Reality. These are not states of Being that one is expected to, or would aspire to sustain. For, the purpose of one’s presence within the realm of physicality is not one’s denial of physical experience. The purpose of one’s journey into the labyrinths of linear perception is for the possibility that the culmination of that journey—the Realization of one’s own Divine Essence—might be experienced.”
Author of the spiritual classic, Oneness, Rasha has worked as Divine Messenger for over 25 years. In 1998, she began a profound dialogue with the universal Presence, “Oneness”— the Divinity we all share and many refer to as “God.” Word for word, she transcribed the principles that give us a new level of understanding of the mystery we call “life”— and empower us to transform our lives and our world. Her teachings are universal and focus on the personal experience of the Divinity within each of us. An incurable world traveler, Rasha now lives at the foot of the mystical mountain, Arunachala, in South India.
