“Joshua Penhaskashi served a very important and valuable role as lead project designer in my design-build company, Palo Santo Designs. His contributions in design, drafting, specification, and (most importantly) client relations were outstanding. Joshua’s careful and considerate approach to serving the both the needs of our clientele as well as his ability to shift tasks quickly within the high paced environment of our small, but very busy, firm were outstanding. I do not hesitate in the least to highly recommend Joshua for any position in the Architectural Design and Sales field. His dedication to excellence, his passion for quality and his self-motivated attitude are the perfect complement to his education and experience in the field.” Mark Giorgetti CEO, Palo Santo Designs “This letter is meant to recount my experience of working with Joshua on the planning, design and construction of my home in Santa Fe, NM. In short, I am extremely happy with my working relationship with Joshua. He was the best thing about my experience with the contractor of record, Palo Santo Designs, LLC. I always felt listened to and respected in the process. While I always felt that there was an awareness of my budget constraints I never felt that my design goals were being neglected. I can enthusiastically recommend Josh as a talented designer and a skilled communicator.” Stelio Kitrilakis Client “It’s rare to find a creative hire who is so multifaceted that they are able to effect many areas of operations. Joshua Penhaskashi was hired to re design our company headquarters. The scope of work quickly grew beyond interior modeling into consulting on brand development, strategy and direction. Joshua’s gift is his ability to birth creative concepts while merging it into practical planning and strategy and operational infrastructure.” Daniella Kashani Client

LOCATION SANTA FE NEW MEXICO TOTAL AREA 2,950 SQ. FT. PALO SANTO DESIGNS
The vision of this client was to build a house to capture the breathtaking views of the surrounding New Mexican landscape. We used the key moutain ranges to chose the positioning of the house. With stark interior spaces and 20 foot wide openings we met the client’s desire to experience and enjoy the magnificent vista and play of light throughout the day as living works of art. The Great Room was morphed into a trapezoid that oriented itself to the East and West mountain views. Before breaking ground, i staked the entire house and all openings on site to ensure the most accurate delivery of the desired views and experience. 1.

MONZA LIBRARY LOCATION MILAN, ITALY
TOTAL NEW AREA 2,500 SQ. MT DAVID ADJAYE ASSOCIATES
The Monza Library competition project brief included the client’s desire for a building that acted as a community gathering amenity as well as a social heart to the city. The site had two existing monastery buildings that were to be used as part of the new proposal. Our design proposal enclosed the courtyard which acted as the new entrance to the building. A copper mesh was proposed for the facade material of the glass enclosed courtyard signifying a new presence in context of town centre with a rich history.
AERIAL RENDERING OF ADDITION AND RENOVATION.
The Monza Library competition required us to rethink movement through a town with hundreds of years in Italy. We used diagrams of mapping movement through the plaza as well as tracking the most occupied hours of the day. By rethinking this area, we were able to re-purpose these barely used monastic buildings into a thriving community oasis in the heart of the city.
