It is suggestion of the conversion of the concrete dam which has supported human life. It is the oldest concrete dam in Japan, was built in 1900. However, INFRASTRUCTURE is not eternity. At this dam, the end of the operation is predicted in the future. In Japan, no way to use the dam after finishing the operation has been found. This dam has created artificial landscapes over 100 years in this area. I try to REBORN by subliming the memory of this infrastructure heritage into new Architeture.

Ⅱ.Visiter Center

Water Ring / WL=210.5M There has been an artificial water ring of 600 M around for more than 100 years.

Ⅳ.Museum

Ⅴ.Wall After END of the operation The wall is drilled, the water storage is ended, and this area will be renewed to wetland.

Orthogonal Axis It is for the wall which is the symbol of this dam.

N

North-South Axis

It connects mountains & sea, mountains & city in Kobe.

New Ring A new ring archives the memory of this heritage and lasts forever.

Ⅰ.Complex facilities for Sightseeing

â…Ł. Museum

Basin of the old Water height line It leaves the "VIEW" that lasted more than 100 years, including the wall on the surface of the water and the surrounding nature.

Bottom of the Dam Standing on the ground at the bottom of the former dam and looking up at the over water, it reminds people of the memory of the dam.
