During this time, we will continue our efforts, working together to raise needed funds for the Museum of Arts & Sciences, the Charles and Linda Williams Children’s Museum, and our new shining star, the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art.

There is much to be done in the next several months. We need your help with the Halifax Art Festival and the Festival of Trees. It takes a village to make these Guild events successful.
I look forward to seeing everyone at our first meeting on Tuesday, September 8th, at 10:00 a.m.

We have Something to Talk About (and yes, it is the day after Labor day) Meet with old friends and make new ones too. This is a great opportunity to see what is in store for our Guild members. Sign up to help during our three main eventsHalifax Art Festival, Festival of Trees, and the Children’s Museum Golf Classic. September 30 10:30 a.m. Artful Interlude - The Life and Light of Old Florida
Meet at 10:30 am for a special curated tour of the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse. Explore the history of the Lighthouse, with plenty of time to scale the steps to the top or just shop in the gift store. At 12:30 pm we will head over for a wonderful lunch at one of Florida’s old fish camps, Down The Hatch Seafood Restaurant. Documentary filmmaker Eric Breitenbach and art educator Kathy Maloney will discuss their documentary “A Certain Magic Wand”. This 22 minute film examines the role of arts in elementary school education. Eric is the senior professor in the School of Photography of the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies at Daytona State College

Admission is free to museum members and included in the price of a day pass. The Gala will be on Thursday, November 19th from 6-9 pm. Enjoy complimentary champagne, live music, and gourmet food from over 20 local restaurants. With the new west wing expansion, the evening will be something to behold this year.
