New Year New Fundraising Opportunities

A

fter the Guild’s very busy Fall events, we all look toward the monthly meetings and the upcoming Spring events - the annual Children’s Golf Classic and Garden Party Luncheon, both held in April. My thanks continues for our members who volunteer for these events, as well as supporting all that our Museums have to offer. As proof of all the hard work, the Guild of MOAS was honored by the Museum of Arts and Sciences at the November 20, 2015 National Philanthropy Day luncheon for the Association of Fundraising Professionals. With the other non-profit recipients honored that day, I was proud to accept this prestigious award from MOAS.

2015 HALIFAX ART FESTIVAL

HALIFAX ART FESTIVAL + TEAM/VOLUNTEERS = Success!! The equation above defines the 53rd Annual “HALIFAX ART FESTIVAL” in 2015. The HAF is the second longest running art festival in the state of Florida. And what many people don’t know is that it is sponsored by the Guild of the Museum of Arts and Sciences.

We had over 100 Guild members who gave their financial support, their time and their talent to this years’ event. The “TEAM” consisted of Sponsors, Patrons, Committee Members and “VOLUNTEERS”. I’ve been associated with many teams both in sports and in the workplace. But this team ranks right up there as one of the hardest working and committed group of people I’ve ever been a part of.

The “SUCCESS” part of the equation is that we made over $37,000 at this year’s event. Great job group. The donuts are on me!! Thank You, George Fortuna
