NATIONAL EXCELLENCE IN BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION AWARDS
The Awards celebrate the highest quality of workmanship. They recognise the challenges that were overcome to deliver extraordinary projects of outstanding quality and value for clients. They reward the innovation, commitment to continuous improvement and employment of skilled tradespeople that allow National Winners to achieve such high standards.
The finalists are winners of their Master Builders State and Territory Excellence in Building and Construction Awards and are now in the running for a prestigious National Award.
Showcasing the 2024 National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards recognises the best building projects from communities around the country and the builders that constructed them across the residential, commercial/industrial and civil/infrastructure construction sectors.
Master Builders Australia’s 2024 National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards were held in Hobart, and I was delighted to welcome everyone to my home state of Tasmania. It was truly great to see a sellout crowd with record attendance at our awards event.
The importance and value of these prestigious awards are evident with the number of entries growing each year at the State and Territory level, with winners progressing to the National Awards, hoping for their project to be judged the best of the best. Winning a National Award provides a stamp of excellence in their business.
Our 2024 award winners again showcase outstanding buildings and infrastructure projects, built by hard-working, highly skilled and dedicated people working in our industry.
The attention to detail and the exemplary execution - in many instances with a high degree of difficulty - while ensuring excellence in coordination between clients, designers, consultants, and subcontractors are all reflected in this year's winners of our 50 award categories.
Our awards provide us with the opportunity to highlight the diversity of our membership, from residential renovations and new builds to the construction of our schools, roads, aged care, high-rise residential and commercial buildings and our arts and tourism facilities. We recognise builders and subcontractors who set the standard for our current and future generations.
The judges noted that the entries this year were of exceptionally high quality, making the judging process more challenging than ever. Concisely written project descriptions were especially helpful in reaching decisions. Unlike previous years, where a clear winner often stood out, this year’s competition required closer evaluation to determine the best among many strong contenders.
In the categories of Young Builder of the Year and Apprentice of the Year, which included a second round of online interviews, the judges found it particularly difficult to select a single winner due to the remarkable calibre of all candidates.
So, we commend the work of all our finalists in this year's national awards program. Getting to the national awards is a significant achievement in itself.
Finally, I would like to thank our sponsors for their support and for partnering with us to celebrate the best in building and construction.

Village Green
WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Byte Construct successfully upgraded Village Green at the former Waterford Plaza for Sirona Urban, enhancing pedestrian and vehicle access around the site. These improvements boosted public use of seating areas and supported local food and beverage venues, fostering a vibrant community space. The project also included base-build fit-outs for five vacant food and beverage spaces, preparing them for new tenants. Safety was a top priority, ensuring the protection of existing tenants and the public throughout construction, showcasing Byte Construct's commitment to excellence in project management and safety.
