MBI members have many resources at their fingertips, but one of the biggest resources available to them is the Iowa Construction Job Board (www.iowaconstructionjobs.com). We want to make sure that members can put their best foot forward when it comes to building a strong workforce. A big selling point amongst current members is that they have the option to put an available job on our job board whenever they want. Future employees will be able to view all of the jobs on the job board, and will have the ability to apply for said position.

MBI is the number one resource for the construction industry, and we use that as a tool for members to use as they look to grow their company. The Iowa Construction Job Board is marketed all over the State of Iowa, so it is invaluable for members to utilize it however they see fit. Our goal is to not only help add quality employees for our members, but to move the construction industry in a positive direction for years to come. MBI’s job board is a great and user-friendly way to accomplish the overall vision for our workforce initiative.

The Job Board is a real time indicator of the sheer amount of options that individuals have at their disposal. Recently MBI participated in the Build My Future event, which is a great example of how we promote our job board to a large scale of potential future employees.

MBI HEADQUARTERS

OPENING 5 SEPTEMBER 2022!

MBI Training Room

Thanks to the efforts of the team at SVPA Architects, MBI members got a sneak peek of the new headquarters building during the recent Annual Winter Conference. The “sneak peek” shared the vision that was incorporated into the design aspects of the interior renovation. The design team at SVPA took into consideration a process in which MBI members, leadership and staff all provided details and perspectives on how a new association headquarters could better serve the membership and fulfill the mission of being the essential resource to Iowa’s commercial construction industry. SVPA, along with MBI’s owner’s representative Shyft Collective and The Weitz Company, who is the construction manager at risk for the project, are all playing such an important part in bringing this project to fruition.

During this virtual tour, members saw the final design of the new space taking into account many of the features that will make this building MBI’s hub for networking; education and training; as well as creating a new environment for staff to carry on the business of MBI. Prefunction Area

to bring quality education and training, while being convenient to all members.

The new facility will also be a great networking hub for all members to enjoy. The classroom space can be manipulated to open up to the adjoining pre-function room so that the entire area can be used for receptions and events. (Also, there are over 100 parking spaces adjacent to the new facility, making it very convenient for out of town guests.)

Board Room

The new space will accommodate over 70 people in the education and training center. Not only will those in attendance have state of the art technology at their fingertips, the facility will be outfitted with AV equipment to enable members to share in the educational experience from their own respective offices. This is important as MBI continues its efforts

MBI's Main Entry

Like many other office spaces, there will be a highfunctioning Board room for MBI’s leadership to utilize. This room will be outfitted with equipment to allow for a full interactive experience, regardless of whether someone is in the room or participating remotely.

Finally, the general staff space will include both workstations and individual offices, along with collaboration rooms; design studio space; and a podcast/recording room. All of these features will complement the talents of the professional staff and assist in bringing more value to MBI members.

Knowing that there are material lead times to deal with, our plan is to be at substantial completion by early August and fully moved in by September 1st. We are planning to hold a ribbon cutting ceremony, along with an educational program to show off the building’s capabilities of bringing members together both in person, as well as via live feeds. We also plan to have an open house for everyone to come and see our new home. These are exciting times for MBI as this building will showcase MBI’s ability to serve its members.
