The YPERIOS breeding really stood out on every farm we visited. Whether used for the increased fertility or to maximize calf quality every breeder highlighted excellent results. We mainly focused on the YPERIOS INRA95 cattle, a composite breed bred specifically for terminal crossing. Being a breeder of continental cattle it has always been hard to grasp the value of yet another breed entering the market but after seeing these cattle in the flesh it is hard to argue at the quality & performance they bring to the table! It was interesting to see the YPERIOS INRA95 bulls used not only on dairy crossing but also to bring added value to beef bred suckler calves in a commercial setting. The YPERIOS programme is most definitely one to keep an eye on for the future, on arriving home and speaking to a number of UK breeders it is evident that the reliability and consistency of the YPERIOS sires is second to none helping them grow in popularity.
I have since ordered straws of YPERIOS INRA95 and can’t wait to see the results!
