DESIGNING COLLSEROLA

PROYECTAR COLLSEROLA EL LUGAR El proyecto se desarrollará en el límite entre la ciudad de Barcelona y la sierra de Collserola en el ámbito que se encuentra bajo la montaña de Sant Pere Martir. El sector empieza en el término municipal de Esplugues, en los barrios de Ciutat Diagonal y Finestrelles, incluye el entorno del depósito de agua, el barrio de la Mercé, el sector de Pedralbes que estructura la avenida Pearson y finaliza en el Parc de la Oreneta. En la parte más urbana el proyecto abordará el estudio de los diferentes barrios, su estructura actual de espacios libres y equipamientos y las posibilidades de conexión y acceso con la sierra de Collserola. Desde Collserola se estudiarán los recorridos actuales desde la cima de Sant Pere Martir hasta el límite con la ciudad y se abordará la conexión de la carretera de las aguas con la cima y con los barrios de la ciudad.

EL AGUA El agua juega un papel fundamental en la renaturalizaión de un espacio. Se propone abordar el estudio de este lugar desde las posibilidades que el agua nos ofrece. El agua puede retenerse, acumularse o infiltrarse con el objetivo de fomentar la renaturalización de este ámbito y con la voluntad de establecer reservas para su uso ciudadano. Asimismo las intervenciones sobre el curso de las aguas de este lugar pueden contribuir a disminuir los problemas que el agua provoca sobre la red de saneamiento de la ciudad.

LA CIUDAD El límite entre la ciudad y la montaña es indefinido y muy variado. Existen algunos puntos de acceso, generalmente poco señalizados y mal estructurados.

La relación entre Barcelona y su montaña puede mejorar sustancialmente.

Los barrios y calles de la ciudad presentan situaciones muy diversas mientras que los parques existentes o posibles ofrecen diferentes posibilidades de conexión.

En la zona de límite existen diversos equipamientos que habitualmente taponan la relación entre la montaña y la ciudad, pero que pocas veces se convierten en puerta entre ambos.

THE SITE The project will be developed on a border area between Barcelona and Collserola Park, in an area below the mountain of Sant Pere Martir. The site limit reaches the town of Esplugues, the districts of Ciutat Diagonal and Finestrelles and includes the water tank area, the neighborhood of La Mercè, Pedralbes distict suburb structured

by Pearson Avenue and Oreneta park.

In the urban area the project will address the study of the different neighborhoods, the current structure of spaces and facilities and opportunities for connection and access to Collserola. From Collserola the project will focus on the current paths from the upper part of Sant Pere Martir to the border of the city and address “carretera de las aguas” with the top and the neighborhoods of the city.

WATER Water displays a fundamental role in the renaturation of a space. It is proposed to approach the study of the site since the chances that water provides. The water can be retained, accumulated or infiltrate in order to promote renaturation of this area and willing to establish reserves for public use. Also interventions over the course of the waters of this place can help reduce the problems that causes water on the sewerage of the city.

THE CITY The boundary between the city and the mountain is indefinite and varied. There are some access points, usually slightly marked and poorly structured.

The relationship between Barcelona and the mountain can improve substantially.

Neighborhoods and city streets have very different situations while existing parks or possible offer different connection options.

In the “boundary area” there are several facilities that usually clog the relationship between the mountain and the city, but rarely become door between them.
