Residential Lighthouse Architecture Design, September 2012 Instructor: Cody Arkadie Corpus Christi, TX, US
The criteria for this project was to design a modern lighthouse/ residence on the coast of Corpus Christi, Texas. During this project, I was introduced to “Form Follows Function”. It was meant to be a tower that would function as a tower but also as a residential place. It was to have all the accommodations of a home such as living room, dining room, kitchen, study room, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. However, we were to devise the idea of multiple “form” types as well as utilizing stairs as our main circulation method through the numerous floors. The stairs in this building are what made my project become distinguishable among other projects. I had multiple ideas for the type of stairs I wanted to do that would actually work with the design of my residential lighthouse. Spiral stairs are a tedious and rather lengthy process.

Row House Advanced Architecture Design, April 2014 Instructor: Raymond Steath Houston, TX, US
The first project of Advanced Architectural Design, the Row House project was to be done with the same ideas as the Row Houses in Houston, Texas. However, we were suppose to add our own features to it. It was to have all the accommodations a home would have, just with limited space and minimum luxuries. During this project, I learned about the sole usage of AutoCAD for designing the floor plans and elevations. We were designated to research the materials that were used in the original row houses and the materials that were being modified for the updated row houses. I was also introduced how to properly label every aspect of a floor plan, elevation and wall section. Working with constant competition from my classmates, my mindset was focused on producing more than what it was required. It was a way that I would be able to push myself to deliver better results within the available time that is given. Even though it was a very simple design, the extensive detail of the construction documents made the project about a 1.5 months long.

Dream House Architecture Design, April 2013 Instructor: Cody Arkadie Houston, TX, US
As an ultimate goal for any architect, building their own home is at the top of the list. For this project, we were to create our own home and go through the entire Architecture Design Project while doing so. All the residential accommodations were placed into this project as we desired. We choose a site on which we would place our building. Our only limits were our imagination. There was no budget, no limits, nothing that we could not do. Unraveling my mind into a design was rather crazy and new. However, it was a very fun project to do. I really enjoyed being my own client and being able to design my house the way I want it to be. I always liked a large space that would accommodate to my family and I. I desired to use inspiration from a villa-style house. The shapes, the spaces and the materials of the a villa-style house were placed into my dream house.

Alta Vista Culture Center Architecture Design 3, March 2015 Instructor: Juanita Jimenez Prairie View , TX, US
Considerably one of my best projects, The Alta Vista Culture center was a project in which I was tasked to create a multipurpose space within specific parameters. I was to design a culture center space using a large rectangle of 242’ x 75’ which includes kitchen, lease spaces, mechanical rooms, restroom, roof garden, storage, exercise room, and a lounge room. The 1st floor would contain lease spaces, mechanical room, storage, outside patios and a lobby space of 1000 sq ft. The 2nd floor would contain exhibit areas, research areas, archives, lease spaces, kitchen, lobby, mechanical room, multipurpose room, storage, and an outdoor space. The 3rd floor would contain an outdoor space, lounge room, exercise room, lobby and 6 studios that would be leased to students or teachers that would like to stay close to campus.

Student Ownership Housing Architecture Design 4, May 2015 Instructor: Juanita Jimenez Prairie View , TX, US
“The Student Home Ownership program is designed to prepare society- ready graduates. Students will design, build and own their own zero energy home on a 60’ x 100’ lot. The program will be a multiple-discipline, managed operation where those selected to participate must agree to work with faculty and staff adviser to clean up their credit, adopt a budget, pay mortgage, property taxes, register to vote, maintain both the building and the yard, etc. One site is on the NE corner of Clark Street and Thompson Street. There is an old concrete slab there now.”- Mayor Frank D. Jackson For this particular project, we were tasked to design a home using a large rectangle of a 42’ x 50’ site. It is to be 1 floor. Our task was to make a zero energy home that would be self sustaining. We were also to research the climate, vegetation, topography, and surrounding characteristics. A few of the focuses for this project were to understand and prevent heat gain, research how natural light and cross ventilation work within a project design. Taking these main aspects in, I was able to develop a design that would tend to these problems.
