THE SWARM
A FLOATING COMMUNITY In this project, the designer doesn't impose a fixed form for the settlement. It is about empowering the population. Not having a pattern allows the swarm to grow in any direction and any combination. Exploring patterns, the final result was an organic growing form, that reminds the natural seaweed shape on the surrface of the water. Each Gathers have different functions and can serve a different number of units of five people, this
number give each of the Gather a area of influence. In this way, for 2000 people there is a certain amount of facilities that we determined are needed. This goes back to a Lego / puzzle concept, giving the community infinity possibilities and results. This organic growing on a grid allows us also to think a bigger community in Picnic Bay of Lamma Island, or in any other bay.
LIVE OUTSIDE THE BOX
The Unit is composed by 2 containers and can acomodate 5 people. Inside each container there are the basic spaces to sleep and shower. The Unit
also has 3 different spaces called ÂŤin betweenÂť. They can acommodate an infinity variation of activities completing the every day life routine.
Tai O fishermen village
An exploration and documentation of the lifestyle in a traditional village of Hong Kong. The physical definition between private and public space as well as the relationship with the sea.
Design thinking - the gazebo
A team project to improve the public space of the campus, leading people to meet in a new space. The project meets the need of the campus population in an efficient solution designed and built on site.
SUBLIMATION
DISCOVERING
The first step to get into the tram topic was some immersion in the tram universe. It includes a visit to the tram DEPOT, mapping the tram lines and a comprehension of the relationships between the tram and its surroundings. It was also about us getting in touch with Hong Kong, the tram and its rich heritage.
EXPLORING
A series of studies and possibilities of uses for the tram. Having in mind the unique relationship between Hong Kong and the Ding Ding, some ideas of activities are developed targeting different uses along the day and the urban life. Other ideas were purely around structure transformation, offering a new space for the city and the people to use, project themselves into.

DIGGING
In this part, we focused on some of the possibilities from the exploration phase. This part allows a richer design on the four main ideas, and could even bring a fifth one to complete the collection. For each of those trams, we thought about them when moving, at a short stop or during the long night break. What kind of transformation ? what kind of use ? What users ?

Pimp my Descartes A four day project to bring new artifacts on the campus, allowing new activities and a fresh vision of an unused space. The Pimp my Descartes project was composed of five different programs including a stage, seats, a bar and a relaxing area, built to last a few years.
Suspended roof - structure optimization
The suspended roof is a three dimensional structure suspended to posts with wires. The roof is 60*45m suspended to 8 posts. The roof is designed in steel for its good reaction to stress but also to keep all the elements as light as possible. All the design was verified by a precised modeling taking account of parameters like the wind or the snow.
WHAT IS HOME FOR HONG KONG MILLENNIALS PURPOSE OF HOME
PURPOSE OF HOME
EXPRESSION OF SELF IDENTITY
CULTURE
After going through diverse interviews and higlighting the differences between foreigners and hongkongers, I noticed they have a common vision of home. Where everyone agree is to see home as a place where they can express their true identity. Where they can be themselves in a confident and safe way, without restriction. Because of the Hong Kong lifestyle (either small individual flats, either proximity with the family) most of the millennials have the need of at least a second place where or they can express themselves.

INTERWEAVE SCALES IMPLEMENTING HOME CARACTERISTICS
Home exists within a context. The physical structure needs to be comfortable and have enough characteristics on his own to be identified as unique, but flexible enough to offer appropriation in decorations and uses. It also needs to be linked to a neighbourhood as a context framing the building itself. But what is also important is third place as a home exist in a certain expand of time. This relation with space and time can be read through the twenty characteristics of home and set parameters for the design. In the case of the Centre of Gravity, its position in Fo Tan has an impact on its direct surroundings like the village or the old industrial buildings, but also echoes at the scale of Hong Kong.

THE PENTHOUSE The Penthouse is not only a live house but a lace for the community to gather and spend time together, to practice and experiment around music. With its large proportion, the Sui Fai Factory Estate can offer various space to play and perform. The Penthouse is designed with a holistic approach, shaping space with different sized room and various lighting system. It also offers enough services for the community to feel comfortable while being welcoming for potential new comers. The other floors would progressively home more and more artists of different practices. Spaces like the Common Ground on the first floor or the place in front of the building would welcome event blending communities in the building and the neighbourhood, offering the possibility for Fo Tan to reinvent a unique lifestyle.

Brick Pavilion
Clay brick is a traditional building material used all around the world. With this pavilion, the clay brick is introduced in a modern use, a traditional technic shaping new elements. The Insulated Monolith Brick (IMB) is a 2.5m tall element doing all the functions of a facade: insulated, rain screen, structure and finish. Premade by extrusion in factory, it is a ready to use component.
The pavilion is like a mysterious object in the nature, yellow and shiny, making it difficult for the walker to guess what material is used. In fact, this pavilion expresses how versatile the IMB can be, really shiny and colorful on the outside, mate and natural in the inside. To understand which material the pavilion is made of, the visitor must get inside.
Pushing forward the experimentation with clay, the material is also used to make the roof. Inspired by how the wall is made, layers of concrete, clay and insulation make another sandwich panel to cover the top of each building.
