MOST RECENT WORK TRKR Technology October 2015 - Present Freelance Designer TRKR technology is a US based start up company that creates tracking camera technology for amateur sports. As a freelance designer I have been in charge of developing the form of the design, producing CAD drawings and renderings as well as producing all of graphic design and creating a brand style. Poetic Lab November 2015 - March 2016 Design Intern Poetic Lab is a London based product design studio that was founded in 2013. Being a young company it consisted of only 3 desginers including myself and so I was exposed to many aspects of the design process including: concept generation, concept development, product engineering, sales, web design and graphic design. As well as taking on consultancy work, the company also has it’s own design label called ‘Beyond Object’. Each product is designed with the belief that daily objects can be crafted as functional sculptures. Max Promotions Ltd. August 2015 - January 2015 Host Sunseeker International (DPS Placement) August 2013 - August 2014 Production Engineer Based at Sunseeker's Osprey Quay facility, I was involved in the builds of the 101 and 115 Sports Yacht and new 155 Yacht. The year was spent as a Production Engineer focusing mostly on Design for Manufacture; analysing and improving processes and creating innovative cost saving solutions across all build stages. During the year I gained practical experience with first stage production, small mould manufacture, finishing, engineering and fit-out, as well as gaining qualifications in both wet-lay lamination and vacuum infusion.
RECOMMENDATIONS HANSHI CHEN POETIC LAB HEAD DESIGNER AND FOUNDER “ For such a young designer, it took Matt very little time to adapt and thrive in our design studio here in London. After seeing his portfolio online and impressing us during a meeting, I hired Matt as an intern during our busiest time of the year. From day one he has been given a lot of responsibility for delivering important projects with tight deadlines. He has dealt with everything incredibly professionally and produced work of a very high quality. Our team at Poetic Lab is very small and so he has had to practice all stages of the design process from concept through to manufacture, in a high pressure environment. I was particularly impressed with his work for the Alcantara MAXII installation project that is to be exhibited in Rome this February. He produced some thought provoking and exciting concepts and developed these into an installation that will no doubt be a highlight at this year’s exhibition. I believe Matt would be great asset to any design team and earns my highest recommendation. ” SIMON CZAPZINSKI FOUNDER TRKR TECHNOLOGY “I spent approximately two months time researching and searching for the right designer to create the aesthetic I wanted for TRKR. When I found Matthews work, I was highly impressed with his technical knowledge of electronics, his aesthetic design ability with products, and his style with graphic design. I knew right away he knew what he was doing and wanted to work with him immediately. After corresponding by email followed by interviewing him over Skype, I knew I had made the right decision and hired him on the spot”
