JOSIE LONG: TENDER
PHILLY PHILLY WANG WANG
Thursday 5 March 8:00pm Tickets: £17
Friday 6 March 7:30pm Tickets: £16
Three-time Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee and very-hard-to-pin-down-indieunderdog-nightmare Josie Long is back with a brand new show after a brief hiatus, during which she had a baby and so on.
Following a sell-out 2018 tour, and fresh from a 2019 Edinburgh Fringe run that sold out in advance, Phil ‘Philly Philly Wang Wang’ Wang is back on tour with his newest show.
It’s about the mind-bending intensity of new motherhood, but mostly about kindness, gentleness, and joy – all in all, the edgiest thing you will see this year. The aim is for you to come out of it feeling optimistic about the future, although that is a big ask. At the very least there will be some really silly voices in it, and that’s not nothing.
Phil has made a name for himself (that name being Phil Wang) exploring sex, romance, politics, and his mixed BritishMalaysian heritage with shows that delight in his unique Wang brand of smart and silly. This one is about morality and the modern sense of self. Swell!
“Brilliantly evocative, an original and unflagging spirit”– Times
As seen on Taskmaster, Live at the Apollo and Netflix.
“This is intoxicating stuff” – Telegraph ”Stand-up dreamland” – Guardian – Times – Metro

50 years on, The Cavern Beatles, a band fully endorsed and licensed by the same club will be coming to a venue near you with their remarkable show. It’s been forty-five years since Jinkx Monsoon and Major Scales have set foot on stage together. The long-endured cabaret duo have long since gone their separate ways; Jinkx becoming a faded TV movie starlet, and Major fading into musical obscurity— each of them clinging onto what scraps of fame they still have. ANDY PARSONS: HEALING THE NATION Thursday 28 May 8:00pm Tickets: £16 ‘It was 24th June 2016 and I found myself contemplating a supermarket meal deal. I only wanted a sandwich and I only needed a sandwich but given that I could get a snack and a drink for only 5p more it seemed financially irresponsible not to. I had spent so long pondering the EU Referendum result from the day before that I was now in a massive rush. The lad on the till scanned the first two items no problem but the third item he couldn’t get to scan at all. I thought this is going to be a nightmare–there was a queue building up and he looked like he was going to call the supervisor. Then to his credit, he tried to scan it one more time, it wouldn’t scan–so he went ‘bip’ himself and chucked it through. And it was at that moment I thought “Oh we’ll be alright as a country we will”.
