SLATE Slate is a metamorphic rock of sedimentary origin. It is a variety of calcareous-clayey schists easily divisible into thin, flat, light, impermeable and weather resistant sheets, deriving from low-grade metamorphism of sedimentary rocks formed by the deposition of a very fine silt due to the erosion of ancient reliefs .

Slate is a rock classified as tender or semi-hard. It is a compact and easily workable stone. By virtue of its schistosity ( the ability to divide into slabs according to the planes of cleavage due to its foliation) and properties, it can be used in various craft and industrial segments as much of the architecture and building as much as art in design and everyday objects.

SANDSTONE - Natural Carpet textile fiber backing sandstone textured material, suitable for indoor and outdoor use, suitable for any kind of surface (smooth, dry and clean) and as cladding both as floor. Stone carpet flexible with a tactile relief finish or smooth surface, different types of sediment.

After application it will be treated with a waterproof sealant or resin.

SANDSTONE - Super Soft Carpet of sandstone which is processed to become a sheet of stone with a smooth texture and soft to the touch. After application it will be treated with opaque or glossy epoxy resin.

Sandstone is a sedimentary rock composed of granules with the average size of a sand. The granules may have various mineralogical composition, depending on the area of origin. ​​ Among the grains more resistant to abrasion and chemical alteration, those of quartz, mineral, commonly abound which, precisely because of its resistance, is one of the constituents most common of these rocks. The granules are linked together from a cement, originating from the chemical precipitation of minerals formed by ions present in the circulating waters between interstitial pores; commonly as cement calcium carbonate is found, both in the form of calcite, that of aragonite, less abundantly the silica or sometimes an iron oxide.

MARBLE Marble is formed through a metamorphic process from sedimentary rocks, such as limestone or dolomite, which causes a complete recrystallization of the carbonate of calcium of which they are predominantly composed and give rise to a mosaic of calcite crystals or dolomite (mineral). The combined action of temperature and pressure, during the transformation of the sedimentary rock into marble, leads to the progressive obliteration of the structures and textures originally present in the rock, with the consequent destruction of any fossil, stratification or other sedimentary structure present in the original rock.

The color of the marble depends on the presence of mineral impurities (clay, silt, sand, iron oxides, flint nodules), existing in granules or in layers inside the rock original sedimentary. During the metamorphic process these impurities are moved and recrystallized due to pressure and heat. The white marbles are outcome of the metamorphosis of calcareous rocks without impurities quartzite is a type of metamorphic rock composed in a clear predominance of quartz. They derive from the dismantling and subsequent metamorphic passage of quartzarenite.

QUARTZITE The most colorless, transparent and vitreous varieties are almost exclusively composed of quartz. Quartz may be associated with other minerals such as micas, potassium feldspar, plagioclases, carbonates, etc. Given the great stability of quartz (mineral can not easily be altered), information on the metamorphic grade of quartzite is given by the accessory minerals possibly contained in the quartzite.

The texture is predominantly massive, but the presence of micas can transform it into schistose. Flint, sedimentary rock composed almost exclusively of silica, it should not be confused with quartzite. Due to their excellent mechanical properties and resistance to atmospheric agents they are used in building; they are used for their high silica content as a raw material in the refractories and ceramics industry, as well as in the glass production industry.
