In the dynamic world of holistic well-being, Bhavna Megh shines as a catalyst for transformation. As a seasoned Mindset and Energy Coach and the visionary behind Stepping Into You, Bhavna shares her unique approach, delving into the mind-body connection and the transformative power of rituals.
As the New Year unfolds, seeking guidance on achieving health and fitness resolutions seems to be top of mind for many Australians. Many of us have been guilty of seeking the quick fix, the magic pill, the super smoothie, or the 21-day total body make-over to achieve that all elusive perfect body. However, Bhavna is quick to point out the challenges that often accompany these kinds of resolutions and explores the holistic aspects of her clients' goals, addressing relationships, self-image, societal and cultural expectations, past traumas and overall sense of wellbeing.
“Probably the most common goal or resolution that people will set for themselves is around their health and fitness,” Bhavna says. “Perhaps they’ve ended a relationship and desire to meet someone new; maybe they feel a shift in their physical body might reignite some passion and increase their libido; perhaps they’ve been yo-yo dieting most of their life with little success and feel now is the time for change; or maybe they’re in business and feel they’d be more confident communicating with clients if they felt better physically.
I hear a lot of excuses from people: the pressures of work, I just don't have the time, I have pain and my body is not allowing me to exercise… When we’re back into the flow of life and the chaos of things, we stop seeing results and the frustration and negative selftalk begins. Unfortunately, this resolution becomes the one that fails the fastest.” But why?
Origin Of Limiting Beliefs
Bhavna explains that it all goes back to the development of deep-seated limiting beliefs that become the obstacles to achieving resolutions. Subconscious programming that occurs during our early childhood development contributes to the creation of beliefs that make up our personality. They may have been downloaded from parents, relatives, school friends or society. As a result, we end up seeking out things in our environment which reinforce those beliefs.
“As a child, I was given many nicknames like ‘Daddy Long Legs’ (I could jump lots of squares in hopscotch), ‘Giraffe’ (I was one of the tallest of my year in high school), and ‘Chicken Legs’ (for having legs that were long and skinny). Wearing long, baggy trousers as part of my regular uniform, and larger shirts and blazers that didn’t fit my body kept me and my body hidden.”
Bhavna recalls her early teens, when she was diagnosed with a physical condition that caused her to lose additional weight. In her twenties, doctors and personal trainers constantly told her she was underweight for her height - not ‘normal’. She was ashamed to discuss this with her female friends, many who were regularly trying to lose weight, leaving her feeling isolated and alone. She constantly compared herself to women in her environment and ‘perfect-looking’ celebrities, further reinforcing her beliefs around beauty and body image, which she states, “kept me small, kept me in self"
Discovering what she really wanted took time, thoughtful introspection, and profound communication with her body. She began daily meditation that involved touching every part of her body, connecting with it and showing appreciation and gratitude for its strength and abilities.
“Every point of dis-ease and dis-comfort in the body is a communication,” Bhavna says. “When you experience this, your body is showing you that there’s something out of balance. We need to listen to what our body is telling us.”
Bhavna changed her belief statement to reflect what she truly desired: “I am the optimal weight that allows me the energy and confidence to do all the things that I love, need and want to do every single day.” judgement, having a negative impact on my life”.
It was expansive and liberating. Making the shift from overly analytical thinking to more intuitive communication allowed emotions that were previously stuck in her physical body to release. With this shift, she began to experience more balance, more peace, and more joy.
WHAT DO I WANT TO BELIEVE ABOUT MYSELF?
INSTEAD OF THE CURRENT ‘STORY’ I AM LIVING, WHAT REALITY DO I DESIRE FOR MYSELF NOW?
WHAT IS TRULY STOPPING ME FROM CREATING THAT REALITY?
Having trained in self-development and emotional release work over the last 15 years, Bhavna encourages clients to replace limiting beliefs with positive, supportive beliefs, emphasising the transformative power of mindset shifts.
Fusion Of Mind And Body
“Seven years ago, I participated in a belief change workshop. I wanted to programme for myself, I am 56 kilos and a healthy weight,” Bhavna says. “My partner asked me why I wanted to be that specific weight – it’s restrictive and limiting.”
Rituals For Lasting Change
After the initial novelty and enthusiasm for achieving resolutions wanes, it’s the skill of creating rituals that can serve as a powerful tool for sustained change. Shifting from routine-based short-term thinking, Bhavna encourages clients to view their habits as rituals. This fosters a deeper connection with self and promotes a more longterm commitment as the actions become automatic and part of daily living.
“A ritual for me is something that is much more sacred, something that is truly honouring and contributing to self in whatever way that is, whether it’s physical, mental, or spiritual,” she says. “Sometimes
Are you ready to liberate yourself from…
> past traumas
> abuse and bullying
> anxiety, worry and depression
> societal and cultural expectations
> continuous and ongoing frustrations the word ‘routine’ takes clients back to unpleasant rigid structures that perhaps their family have taught them. A ritual tends to sit in a different place in the mind in terms of what it’s doing and what it’s reframing. It’s truly powerful and can help to reignite your rhythm and resolve.”
> fear, shame, self-doubt, and unworthiness…?
THE ‘STORY’ WE LIVE VERSUS THE REALITY WE DESIRE
People often come to Bhavna with a ‘story’ they’ve been living for years. The language and self-talk used can be debilitating and prohibitive to progress and change. “If they’re currently operating in the belief system of, ‘It’s too hard to change my body,’ or, ‘I don’t have the time to plan my food,’ I work with them to create and re-frame those beliefs to reflect the reality they desire. What if you told yourself exercise was fun? What if you believed change was easy? What we believe is what we experience in our reality.
We’ve downloaded and adopted all these beliefs from influences in our environment and gone through our adult life finding things that reinforce those beliefs. We do this because we need to confirm our internal reality by aligning it with our external environment. But, when we change our internal belief system, we start to experience and find things that validate the new beliefs that we have. This strengthens and reinforces them, and that then becomes our evolving and more expansive reality.”
Empowering Choices
It may seem a daunting task for some – changing a belief system that’s been embedded deep into one’s mind since childhood. Yet, there is hope and a way to create new neural pathways in the subconscious mind. Evidence from quantum science is showing us that everything is connected. Using various energy healing modalities and muscle testing, Bhavna helps clients uncover and differentiate between their positive truths that promote congruency between the mind and body leading to healing, and the discord and false beliefs that perpetuate disease. Guiding them to the realisation that they are all-powerful and have the capacity and potential to do, live, and be in the life they desire is her role as their mindset and energy coach. The work comes from within the individual, and the choice is theirs.
Taking responsibility for choices becomes a cornerstone in Bhavna's coaching philosophy. In a paradigm where external experiences are seen as reflections of internal states, she invites individuals to acknowledge the connection between mind and body.
In Bhavna’s world of mindset and energy coaching, transformation is not just an outcome; it’s an ongoing journey. Her professional and balanced approach serves as a guiding light, urging individuals to embrace change, explore their desires and unlock their inner power. As we navigate the complexities of resolutions and well-being, Bhavna's wisdom resonates—a reminder that true transformation begins within.
