CURSIO PROPERTY BUYERS AGENTS: from family legacy to living the dream

When Adam Cursio talks about his work, it’s not just about bricks, mortar, and transactions. The heart of his Noosa-based business, Cursio Property Buyers Agents, lies in family—a concept that weaves through both his personal and professional life. From his childhood in a generational family business to raising his own young family on the Sunshine Coast, Adam has always understood that home is where life’s most meaningful moments unfold.
THE CURSIO LEGACY
Adam’s professional story begins with the legacy of the Cursio Group family business. Growing up in a tight-knit Italian family, Adam learned early on the power of collaboration and resilience. His parents, migrants from southern Italy, had left behind a life of poverty to build a new future in Australia. “They took a month-long journey on a boat to a land they had no idea about, just to survive,” Adam shares. “I feel obligated not to waste that legacy of hard work.”
As the youngest of two sons, Adam and his older brother, David, grew up working alongside their father, a financial planner who weathered the ups and downs of recessions while building a business from the ground up. “Dad gave us the opportunity to work together. He always said, ‘Many hands make light work.’ Even when we argued, as most families do, having three minds on a problem made things easier.” In business, Adam acknowledges that he couldn’t do what he does without collaborating with selling agents, mortgage brokers, solicitors, accountants, etc. They form his extended business family, that continues to grow.
BALANCING FAMILY AND BUSINESS
After spending years in the hustle and bustle of Melbourne, Adam knew he needed a change. “I didn’t want to fall into the same trap as my father, living in a big city, trying to find that seventh gear, being time-poor,” he explains. “I wanted to live life with my family, not just work for it.”
That desire led him to the Sunshine Coast, where he has crafted a lifestyle that many dream of—one where family comes first and work is an extension of life, not the other way around. “Living here has allowed me to be more present with my kids,” Adam says. “I don’t do anything on Tuesdays because that’s my day with my son. After school pick-up, we often head to the beach for a bit, or grab an ice cream on Hastings Street.”
For Adam, the Sunshine Coast offers more than just a picturesque backdrop; it’s a place where balance is possible. He describes the joy of walking his energetic dog along the beach—a simple task that forces him to slow down and appreciate the everyday moments. “Family distracts you in the best way possible,” he laughs. “You realise that the only reason you’re working so hard is to create a life where you can spend more time with them.”
HELPING OTHERS FIND THEIR DREAM HOME
Adam uses his expertise to help others find the perfect home to support their dream lifestyle. His joy lies in guiding families through the complex and often stressful process of finding a home. “It’s incredibly satisfying to help families find a home that allows them to live the life they want,” Adam reflects. “Whether it’s moving from interstate or getting out of a rental, there’s nothing more profound than being part of that process. People often need guidance. Sometimes, they don’t even realise they’re looking for the wrong type of property until you help them see the bigger picture.”
Adam’s ability to connect with his clients sets him apart. “I ask many questions about what kind of life they want here, not just what kind of property they’re looking for, and I listen. It’s about aligning their lifestyle with the home they’re buying, and sometimes that means helping them rethink their approach entirely.”
CREATING THE LIFE YOU WANT
For Adam, success isn’t about outdoing his father’s achievements. It’s about honouring his legacy by designing a life that balances work, family, and personal fulfilment. “I’ve learned that it’s not about doing more; it’s about knowing when to say no and valuing the time you have,” he shares.
His advice for those looking to move to the Sunshine Coast? “Come here for a week and see the real Noosa—the one you don’t see as a tourist. Take the time to experience the lifestyle and let it guide your decision.” And more importantly, he says, “Contact me early in your buying process. Eighty per cent of the work happens before you find your home, like making the plan, contacting selling agents, researching areas to buy, and finding off-market opportunities.”
Adam’s work isn’t just about real estate; it’s about helping families like his own find a place to thrive, create memories, and live life to the fullest.
