MAKE A GLOBAL IMPACT WITH DESTINY RESCUE
BY KIANI MILSOM
While many businesses take stock of their achievements and celebrate the wins when the year draws to a close, we’re shining a light on the incredible work being done by Destiny Rescue, a local Sunshine Coast organisation.
Every day, Destiny Rescue saves ten children from the horrors of trafficking—but with your help, that number could be 11, or even more. This Sunshine Coast not-for-profit has already rescued over 17,000 individuals by November 2024, but the fight is far from over.
Operating across three global regions, Destiny Rescue’s mission is to bring freedom to children trapped in exploitation and abuse. With the business community’s support, we can increase those numbers and give even more children a chance at a life of freedom. Your contribution could be the difference that saves another child today.
BUSINESSES LEADING THE WAY
Throughout 2024, businesses across Australia supported Destiny Rescue through fundraisers or becoming Rescue Partners, providing ongoing support to ensure Destiny Rescue’s critical missions continue uninterrupted. Others have funded entire rescue missions, contributing directly to the rescue of children from exploitation. Seeing how companies can combine team spirit with social responsibility is inspiring. This commitment enables the rescue and rehabilitation of children, ensuring they receive the care they need to heal and rebuild.
Other businesses have hosted fundraising events, engaging both employees and customers. Whether it’s a sponsored walk or an office challenge, these events do more than raise funds—they foster team spirit and purpose.
A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO RESCUE
At Destiny Rescue, the journey doesn’t end with rescue. The organisation ensures each child is not only saved but also supported. Rescued children are provided with a safe environment, counselling, medical care, and the opportunity to heal. Destiny Rescue also equips them with tools for long-term success, whether through education or vocational training.
Without Destiny Rescue, many children cannot be rescued. Local law enforcement agencies often lack the resources to tackle this issue alone. But with the support of Destiny Rescue, these gaps are filled. Teams work with local authorities to locate perpetrators and victims, gather evidence, and work alongside law enforcement to conduct operations. What many don’t realise is that Destiny Rescue also steps in to fund the essentials—like fuel for police vehicles, and accommodation and meals for rescued children. The heartbreaking truth is that the only thing holding up more rescues is funding. And this is where businesses like yours can help change everything.
HOW YOUR BUSINESS CAN HELP
There are many ways your business can support Destiny Rescue. One powerful approach is combining team building with purpose. Hosting a fundraiser can bring your team together while making a real difference in the lives of children. Whether it’s organising a trivia night or creating a team challenge, your business can raise awareness and funds for this crucial cause.
Another impactful option is becoming a Rescue Partner. Regular donations from your business will fuel ongoing rescue efforts, helping children escape exploitation and reclaim their lives. It’s a meaningful way to show your company’s commitment to social responsibility.
WHAT’S YOUR NEXT MOVE?
There are many ways your business can take action. Right now, Destiny Rescue is rescuing ten children every day. Imagine the difference your business could make by helping to rescue the eleventh. Together, we can create a world where no child is left behind in the fight against trafficking.
