FROM SURVIVING TO THRIVING: choosing freedom
BY DR SAMANTHA WORTHINGTON
For most people, success is determined by the freedom to live life on their terms. And if you're not consciously creating a freedom-based life, you're unconsciously accepting the opposite.
Every single action we take in our lives has a goal. When you get into your car to drive to work, when you put the kettle on, when you shower, etc. This is especially true in sports and business, where the goal is to do better, be more efficient, effective, and ultimately more successful. And if the research states that winning is more about deep practice and mindset than natural talent, how close can we get to our success by changing our thoughts?
At the age of 23, I left an abusive marriage and found myself as a struggling single mom without any financial security. I was a product of outdated generational values and cultural expectations of women and marriage. It took the experience of my daughter’s traumatic birth for me to make the choice to break those cultural and generational cycles that had kept me from having control over my life.
Over the last 20+ years, I've learnt much about the true meaning of living a freedom-based life, how to reach it and the pitfalls along the way. I went from struggling financially and emotionally to holding three degrees, (including an MBA and a PhD in human behaviour and business strategy), winning the title of National Business Woman of the Year, representing my country as a fitness competitor, and becoming a successful global entrepreneur, author and business advisor—all while raising three children, now aged 18, 12 and 7.
In your life, when you think about what it will take – what’s the catalyst or the trigger for you to break down cycles that no longer serve you and choose freedom – you don’t have to hit rock bottom. But you do have to stop explaining away other people’s success because you think that they have some circumstance or set of qualities or talent that you have decided is out of your reach.
My name is Dr Samantha Worthington. I am a Psychology for Peak Performance Specialist, a Consumer Behaviour Expert, and the CEO and Founder of WORTH, the global education platform for everything you need to start and scale your freedom-based business.
Over the last two decades, I've worked with leading international organisations such as Nike, L'Oreal Paris, American Express, Sony, BDO and TAFE Queensland. I have also helped thousands of people, just like you, create, launch and scale their own successful businesses. Many of my clients are now industry trailblazers, including Andrea Beil (TEDx speaker), Jeff Lloyd (author of The Guv ), Kane and Alessia Minkus (award-winning entrepreneurs and authors), Dr Harvey Castro (global keynote speaker), Stephanie Ann Ball (soprano and author), and Chan Chaichalermpol (The Menschelist).
Success has always been important to me, not because of status or money, but because of the freedom it affords—the freedom to choose an education, who I work with, where I live and how I spend my time. I created WORTH to share my exact business methods, techniques and tools with a community of like-minded people who want to start and scale their own freedom-based businesses doing what they love so that they, too, can choose how they live their purpose while making a positive impact on our community and the world. If you’re ready to live a freedom-based life, become a WORTH Member today!
