Hot N’ Not
Addicted. -Sarah 7T I'm not remotely addicted, Just a little obsessed, With the magical wonders (Facebook and such) That miraculous laptops possess.
Please don't call me addicted, I just sometimes fantasize, About YouTube, Terraria, Skype, those things, That I occasionally terrorize...
My mother says I'm addicted, When she does, I deny with haste. She doesn't need to know what I actually do, In the time I rightfully waste.
Fine. I admit I'm addicted, There are things I can't live without! For example, my iPhone, my TV, my Mac, So I cry when the power goes out.

The people - I like the students and the employees, they are all very nice.
D1 Auto Imports & Services and my position was sales and marketing.
Hopefully yes.
Because it’s one of the best international schools in Thailand.
Working with the employees and meeting new people.
I’d have to say a Mac. The students like to borrow laptops but not Facebook and Instagram.
return them.
Google Chrome for sure. I am not really a social person.
Compaq, but I’m not sure of the exact make.
What is your role in the school? My official job title is Assistant Principal for Campus Curriculum Technology, so that means I look after all the ICT you use for learning and teaching, things to do with the Patana website and in primary with the school iPads.
What aspects of your job do you enjoy the most? I am still teaching – maths – and actually teaching maths is the most fun you can possibly imagine! But I also enjoy seeing teachers and students using technology well, and using it to create new things to do with learning… in fact two students recently showed me programs they’d written which were really very good.
What is your least favourite part of your job? Probably the paperwork! I have to do it all by myself too and its very boring, not very interesting at all!
How do you think school is improving now that all Secondary has laptops? Students are more independent, they can choose when they use the technology rather than before when the teacher had to book a computer room about 3 weeks in advance!
Do you think most of the problems in Secondary come from laptops? Definitely not! (Hehehe!)
Q: Do you prefer Mac’s or PC’s? A: My favourite is a PC, mainly because of having a long history of use of them.
Now that the students have laptops in secondary, do you think anything more hi-tech will be developing at Patana in primary? Well, each year group in primary is going to have an accessed share of iPads. The children will be able to enjoy using them in a different way than using computers. The iPads have different apps which make it possible for them to take photos, write notes and record sounds. As well as that, many teachers will be getting new tablets. They are like laptops but you can rotate the screen and do all sorts of other things!
What, in your opinion, is the biggest problem with laptops? Um, if you asked me on a different day I may give a different answer but at the moment there are a number of problems uprooting with the laptops. One thing that is interesting is that students use their laptops as more of a distraction for them to play games or update social networking sites. We could put a lot of blocks on the sites but we would rather the students thinks for themselves with the support of the teachers for them to become more responsible!
True Story. True Story was a meme that developed from the TV Show, “How I Met Your Mother”. It came from actor Neil Patrick Harris, who in the show is named Barney Stinson. In the show, Barney Stinson repeatedly stated the phrase,” True Story”. Eventually the name stuck on.
Challenge Accepted Challenge Accepted also just happened to be a meme that came from the TV show, “How I Met Your Mother”. It also came from the character Barney Stinson, who once said, “Challenge Accepted”. Unlike True Story though, Stinson’s face is not the meme face.

What’s Hot? The smolderingly hot new topics in year 7 are memes! They’re funny cartoons with cute catch phrases. There are several examples of which you can find on www.9gag.com
Another hot topic that has been discussed a lot throughout the school is the new Ipad3. It’s the lastest version of the Ipad that everyone is eagerly looking forward to as it has 3.1 million pixels , an 5MP isight camera and ultrafast wireless technology, you can also then download 200,000 more apps from the App store.
At the moment the hot problems song is one of the most viral videos on YouTube, the songs done by the two girls on this video were all out of tune and badly written. On the bright side the two girls say they wrote it as a joke but the video is still useful if you need a good laugh. You can find the video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=__HeE6NWmDE
The Avengers memes are considered not hot in year 7 because of the feeble jokes and unconvincing drawings, which greatly dilutes the awesomeness of the fantastic blockbuster.
