After several years of publishing Hawaii Real Estate Guide, and the former magazine, Maui Real Estate Guide, I came to the conclusion that 100% advertising was not as attractive as a more traditional home magazine. Starting with this issue we are launching a new and more diverse mix of Realtor ads, development properties and lots for sale, as well as feature stories about selected homes on several islands. We have eliminated many of the smaller ads and replaced with nearly all full page ads and two-page spreads, with stories that range from two to six pages. I am gladly willing to trade some paid advertising pages for editorial features as I feel it will be of greater interest to readers and advertisers alike. I see it as a true ‘win-win’ situation for all of us. Text messaging is sometimes underestimated and misunderstood in real estate marketing. Text messaging’s strength is that it can be used to make static ads and marketing interactive while also providing additional data with tracking and reporting capabilities.

The keyword is texted to a shortcode which is a 5-digit number.
