‘Create a Dub’ Wireframes HF 740: Information Architecture: Maura Robinson


Overview of Workflow


All Sound Category Screen The user enters the create a dub workflow through the Sounds screen, which displays all sound categories. The user can browse the categories by scrolling. Once the user selects a category that interests them, they click the carrot or on the card.

Add to Favorites Button

Once the user has entered the desired sound category, they can browse through the sounds. The play button allows the user to hear a sound in order to decide if they’d like to create a dub. The video camera button allows the user to create the dub, while the star allows the user to add this sound to their favorites.


Record a Dub Screen Once the user clicks the Create a Dub Button, they are brought to the Record a Dub Screen. The User hits start to record their dub. When the sound begins the waveform changes color to indicate where the user is in the context of the sound. The words that make up the sound are also depicted beneath and change color to correspond with the waveform. There is also a tracker dot on top that moves with the sound to help the user read the words in sync with the sound.


Finish Your Dub Screen

After the dub is recorded, the user is brought to the finish your dub screen, where they can add effects such as text or emogis. When finished the user selects the Next button either at the bottom or top right corner of the screen.


Send to Dubsmash Contacts The send dub screen allows the user to send their new dub to their contacts. The skip button allows the user move onto the next step if they do not want to send to their contacts. In the second screen depicted, the the skip button acts as a cancel button for sending and moves the user along to the next step. The arrow in the blue box along with the names executes the sending action.


Dub Stories The Dub Stories page allows the user to post their dub so their contacts may view their dub at any point. The page also displays the stories for all contacts. Stories remain posted for one day and are then stored in the “My dubs� page. The skip button allows the user to bypass this page if they do not want to share their story.

Share Screen The share screen gives the user other options for sharing their dub through various applications. The home button navigates the user back to the original home screen.
