CONCEPT

MOVEMENT | REPETITION | SCALE

Traduced into the perfect intersection where the repetition, the monumental scale, and the flow of the movement become one. Movement is everywhere, in every single moment of our daily lives. Combined with an speciffic materiality, works as a beautiful camouflaged element. Simple shapes, lines, volumes or any element repeated in a constant pattern, could create expectacular results where the aesthetic of simplicity, becomes the aesthitic of the amount.

GLOCAL PERCEPTIONS

ENCOURAGING OUR ORIGINS THROUGH A GLOCAL PERSPECTIVE CONCEPT

Around the world, there is a rich diversity of cultures, where each country has a Cultural DNA translated into speciffic features that define their traditions and origins. Glocal Perceptions, is a creative reinterpretation of this idea, bringing these particular elements into a creative result; Transforming Local into Glocal.

16

D AY O F T H E D E A D ENCOURAGING A CULTURE INSPIRATION

From a particular tradition of a certain country we can find unique flowers that only fluorish during a specific season, and the concept reflects this idea. In Mexico, the Day of the Dead, is the most traditional celebration and the flowers they use, are emblematic for this tradition.

ELEGANCE WITH AN EDGE CONCEPT

The concepts of Minimal Opulence, Embroidering Nature and Rock-Pop Overlap are reinterpreted to turn Valentino’s brand identity into a Home Collection. Three main concepts were identified and were translated into Interior Design principles for this project, such as having the Minimal Opulence as an elegant, neutral color palette background, the Embroidering Nature as an inspiration from nature for the materials and prints of the home collection, also having into consideration the transparencies and the different materials and textures. All of this is accompanied by the Pop-Rock Overlapping, because this would bring pops of color to the project to lighten up and complement the minimal background.

NATURAL ESSENCE

practical appliance + MOODBOARD Natural essence, is translated into a collection, in which the refinement of the ceramic is the protagonist of materiality. In terms of functionality, the natural containers of water recall the main shape of the sinks. And the evocative morphology of the orchid is taken to enhance the aesthetics. The intersection of these three main aspects, result into grabbing certain essences taken from the nature and its sorroundings as a source of inspiration.

NATURAL ESSENCE EXPLORATION + PROTOTYPING

First step of the creation was taking the outline of an orchid. Then, we used the main features of the petal to get the appearance of a natural container. Sometimes the petal of the orchid gets to be wider. That’s why, shrinking the the height of the sink, gets closer to the wideness of the shape. Brings the idea of how the flower grows from the earth, making tgis mono sink have the shape of a flower that blossoms from the roots.
