In 1990, Stefan Edberg purchased an apartment in Mougins, a little town on the French Riviera, where he liked to spend some of his spare time away from the stress of the Tour. Dominique Bonnot of Tennis de France met him right there a few weeks before the French Open of that year and talked to him about his relationship with France and his goal of becoming world number one.
